I keep thinking that the problem with this work print is in translation i.e. he was talking about the DVD version and not the Hi-def versions.

gkrykewy said:To me, it appeared superior to upscaled quality, but inferior to the best HD HBO movies. In other words, some movies are obviously upscaled, but these did not appear so (to me).

The WW II (Warner Watch) situation.
Many folks asking if I am truly in the loop on this thing and if it is just another one of those rumors like the one started by that AVS member that came trolling around here on our forum a few months ago perpetrating WW I.
Answer
This current WW is nothing like the crap posted by that troll (which, if memory serves, I shot down in 15min. or so as per your guys request for the truth). This situation has substance.
Yes, Im in the loop, just as I was when Paramount got mounted

Has quill-pen hit paper(s) yet, you ask?
No, not yet, so keep buying those WB Blu-rays this holiday season and when we look back in retrospect on this situation we can all proudly claim that we won this thing truly on consumer merit- so that the red ants never cry foul as other dominos fall successively.
I will try awfully hard to give you guys a heads-up(with an appropriate YouTube link)- even if its just the day before any formal format announcement but, I make no promises.
And please dont hold your breaths for impending news as things take time.

Is he hinting that Warner will go where the sales are?
Chiggs said:They said "they'd be watching the sales closely" this holiday, so yeah, I guess.
But the real question is: Will Van Mardigan buy WB HD-DVD's now?

teiresias said:Anyone with Lost: Season 3 having issues? I'm having major problems playing this on my PS3. I went through the entire set and on my first run through trying to load all of the discs the only discs that would load were discs 2 and 5. Every other disc would hang and completely lock up the PS3 at a blank screen. I could get part of the XMB menu to come up by pushing the PS button, but it was the menu that only lets you turn off the controller or turn off the system. It's like it didn't recognize it was even in playback mode anymore.
On the discs that would not load it would play the Buena Vista stuff and warnings and any previews (in the case of disc 6) that played before the menus but it would always hang at the menu. The discs that did load showed a loading bar before the menu so it must be a java menu of some kind and the PS3 is having issues.
I did wipe down Disc 1 and finally got it to load the menu, but was not successful getting Disc 3 to load even after wiping it a few times. So now I'm at a loss. Return the set because it's a disc issue, or is it an issue with MY PS3 (laser issues, ie. get a laser lens cleaner disc or vacuum it out really good) , or is it an issue that would need to be fixed in firmware that would affect other players too? Does anyone else with the set have a PS3 and is experiencing the same unreliability in getting the discs to load at the java menu?

I pre-ordered Lost Season 3 on Blu-ray early September and I get an email just now telling me the "Shipping estimate has been changed to : January 9, 2008 - January 23, 2008
Delivery estimate: January 10, 2008 - January 24, 2008" :|
I see on the AVS forum two people so far have had theirs changed to shipping soon.
Amazon just lost my money on this one, guess I'll have to check some best buys
