Pretty good mission and location I thought, not quite as open as the others but the opportunities are really fun. Definitely reminiscent of the hotel mission from Blood Money.
I guess the older Hitman games were more... baroque in their art and design. Characters were wildly exaggerated, levels looked theatrical in their design, stories were sensationalist and ripped-from-the-tabloids.
This game definitely looks more naturalistic and less intense. I think people have mentioned that 47 actually looks like a real human being for once.
I'm hearing impressions that doing Suit Only on this level is way too hard. Seems the climbing the pipes is basically useless because if anyone sees you you willl imediatelly get hunted and shot at. Not only with the suit either, seems it happens no matter the disguise.
I would like varied, unique locations versus gigantic sandboxes which seem familiar to one another.
I just beat Thailand with a 0 score and the level was pretty, but felt like Marrakesh to me. Sapienza was the only map I really liked and played a lot of. Would like a darker, grittier map as someone else mentioned. Or a circus, something weird.

It was alright. Slightly better than Marrakesh. Nowhere near Sapienza, but at this point it's almost unfair to compare anything to that level, since it's one of the best in the franchise and everything will pale in comparison.
But in the end I keep expecting some more from these levels.

What I like about Sapienza is that there were a lot of different areas to play around in. You have the church, the town, the mansion/tower and the lab. There was just so much to do. I don't need every map to behave like that but I hope that the Japan and US maps are a little bigger like Sapienza. That being said, I like some variety. Each map doesn't need five different areas. So far the areas other than Thailand have been pretty different and I'm really enjoying them. I won't play Thailand until later.
Still won't get to play this until tonight, but mainly I'm just hoping for opportunities to get the targets in different surroundings - completely different parts of the map. That's an aspect where there's actually room to improve over Sapienza.
The way the fumigation blocks off five or so rooms makes me think this will be one of the bonus mission mix-ups, with those areas becoming accessible as normal. The barren floor above Morgan's suite as well.
Really hope the US is Silicon Valley as hinted at in the conversation below 47's suite, but the concept art for the US level depicts some rural Oil Refinery/Farm (Couldn't quite tell), and so far all the concept art has been on-the-dot for what the place is.
If it holds true for the US level... May I say in advance - BOOOOORING. I hated the Louisiana levels of Blood Money, I don't want another level in Redneck Country. I want the urban sprawl, cities of steel and glass, like New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, not Moore, Idaho.
If the US level is some dull farm town, I damn well hope they compensate with the Japan level being Tokyo or something. So far, out of the cities we've had we've had two old European cities, a decaying African one, and a hotel firmly outside the sprawl.

how did that one guy upstairs even get up there? I mean jesus, his disguise is even more worthless than The Bohemian, considering this guy is located in an area where his outfit is not just trespassing but outright Shoot on Sight.
On one final note, Bangkok feels like the most secure and locked up level in the entire series since Hitman 2's (and Codename 47's) entire campaign to me. Pretty much every disguise requires the use of stealth to get around due to the placement of White Dot NPCs, and quite a few of the rooms have only one explicit entrance that requires an item that is under heavy watch in a location that isn't entirely obvious.
As for how I pulled this off...
Electrocuted Cross, then fixed the Tuk Tuk, and shot at the oil barrel next to it as Morgan was inspecting it.
Failed Silent Assassin though. Got a Spotted, don't know when or how, and I forgot I was caught on camera and neglected to hunt down a security station to wipe that.

US is the refinery, I hope there is at least a small town nearby, maybe with some bikers or something like that
japan is not tokyo, it's a clinic on some island
after getting all the opportunities and the max mastery in bangkok, this is my ranking as well:
sapienza >> paris >>>> bangkok >>>>> marrakesh
my main problem with hitman 2016 is that the levels and the opportunities feel too similar, I miss really iconic kills like the theatre kill or as I have pointed out earlier in the thread really exciting and memorable set pieces
the levels are great sandboxes with tons of interesting interactions, no doubt, but I miss the memorable stuff

If the ripped-from-the-headlines trend keeps up, episode 5 is totally going to be about fracking.
I guess setting any level in an urban center is going to have implications since you're allowed to bring a massive demo block into any level now. What do you do, spawn SWAT trucks into the level if the player sets off an explosion in the streets?
You don't want Hitman to feel like GTA, because it's just not built for that kind of scenario.

Blood Money sorta did set the precedent for reinforcements coming if you turned what should be a silent hit into a terrorist attack with a few of its levels (The WitSec one with the Cuban and the Casino/Hotel), so it's not like that's a new twist.
And what's this about the demo-block? New unlock for Bangkok?
I doubt it will only be a factory full of workers, that would be very disappointing, which is why I expect more to this level like a small town or a bar or something like that. maybe similar to that one redneck town from absolution, the only halfway decent mission from that game
on the Tuktuk, the lawyer guy appeared, messed with it for a bit then just walked off? Was I supposed to do something else?
I have to say though, overall (despite some highlights) the game isn't really doing it for me. It's leaving me cold - I want to love it but it's just not happening.

Just my opinion but this level feels HUGE to me. I've been sneaking around and checking everything out very slowly. I've been playing my first playthrough for about an hour and a half now. Haven't died. Yet. I took a break to eat and read all of your thoughts on it. I like it so far. Only weird thing to me was in the easily accessible part of the hotel, near your room and above it near the
stalker
, I couldn't find a single weapon on multiple floors. Just in that area though.
Shoot all the gold elephants in the queen suite. Note: There are three in the loft area, the rest is on the main floor.
Other helpful items:
Master keycard in laundry room in the basement, bathroom in room 101 has a poison vial. Really helpful when I tried to poison the lawyer, he always picked the opposite food item of the one I poisoned, so the solution was to poison both of them.
This level feels too much like Paris - one single building with barely anything surrounding it. It is really pretty and opulent, though.
I am reading that this runs much better on SSD. I want to uninstall from my HDD then reinstall to the SSD. Do you know where the save files are located so I may back them up?
I cant seem to find them at all
