Boycott worked! Thanks Ree.
Or when ubisoft makes them and they sell millions of copiesFunny how people suddenly love Ubisoft style game design when it's Harry Potter.
Probably more than that wording says retail, since like 80% plus of retail copies sold were probably sold on ps5, digital is a separate pool, sonys probably brought in like 250 million from Hogwarts, which is bananasAnd Phil says that console says don't matter. WTH is wrong with him?
$150 million in 3 months! That's crazy!
It's on reddit so of course they have problems“gamingcirclejerk” doesn’t sound like a place they would have a problem with this
First post hahahah you don’t disappoint GAF. This Gif is exactly what I thought of reading the title.
What is wrong with you? Who is even talking about Microsoft here? Is that what you see everywhere automatically? You two are adorable. The obsession with Microsoft is unhealthy. Are you capable of posting in any thread without going to console war nonsense? It's embarrassing at this point.
Came for the best, didnt expect it so soon
Everything I see of that subreddit is embarrassing. r/gamingcirclejerk is what happens when people get too comfortable making fun of a (nebulous, in this case) group online and don't realize how far they've gone up their own asses and become just as, if not more mock-worthy and annoying than their original targets were. That sub is an absolute circus.
Here's the thing though:
Do not comment on that sub unless you're absolutely 100% certain you're going to say something positive/that the sub agrees with, otherwise you will get banned.
I always go on that sub to laugh at some of the shittiest takes in gaming history and just, honestly, enjoy the charade. It really is a circus. There's plenty of clownery there.
How does he get up though?
At first they were funny. They made fun of online forum babies. Then they became super authoritarian and started banning any one from their sub reddit who was also a member of the hogwarts legacy sub reddit
I see. I got kicked out of TheLastofUs2 for disagreeing with their own circle jerking. It's on reddit so of course they have problems
Fixed! This gif just never stops gifing!!! Hahaha
Valve made just as much through Steam and they don't even have any exclusives to fund, shareholders to please or consoles to subsidise. And with 0 game development costs or risks!
Sony can easily fund 1 massive AAA game with this money or 2-3 Returnal or Horizon Zero Dawn type projects.
And that is why we will never get Half-life 3Valve made just as much through Steam and they don't even have any exclusives to fund, shareholders to please or consoles to subsidise.
That's a huge amount of money but I still think it was mismanaged.
They could have made Hogwarts Legacy: Year 1, and so on, for 7 years. Given the insane quality of the Hogwarts school they've created, they could have sustained that with the content they have here. Slap a persona-esque school system over your core game design and go from there.
Instead, you're given free reign of Hogwarts right away (it's amazing but overwhelming) and then most of the game takes place in bland open world fields doing bland open-world things. The school itself feels almost wasted as it is. You take like 5 classes in total, lol. The rest of the time you're out brutally murdering poachers (um... proportionality?) and "rescuing" beasts (read: poaching).
The art, music, and general game design here could have supported a ton of games had they not spunked it all on a third-rate open world game design.
no shit! can only imagine how much time rowling's spent seething over this...If only that other website would have let people talk about it they could have generated 2 billion by now
Fixed for you.
The real issue with Ubisofts game design is not the design mechanically. People love it, they can't get enough of it when other people make it. The diffrence is that Ubisoft rip out everything that should be an award to the player for doing side objectives or side quests and put it on a premium ingame shop instead for real money. This means you don't feel as rewarded when playing as other games, because Ubisoft have designed the game to push you towards the cooler stuff that they sell for real money.
Hogwarts didn't do that, hence the relatively high praise.

Quite the ironic example considering the reward for doing these side objectives on Breath of the Wild is a weapon that breaks in 3 hits. I'd honestly prefer to just pay Ubisoft money for a permanent sword or gun.
>mfw I liked Immortals (character model aside) more than BOTW, despite Zelda being my all time favorite series.
Oh, how unexpected from reddit moderators. At first they were funny. They made fun of online forum babies. Then they became super authoritarian and started banning any one from their sub reddit who was also a member of the hogwarts legacy sub reddit
If you believe in God, pray for our nation. This is (and has been) something else.
Saw another activist threaten to kill anyone who tries to control which bathroom they go to. Others have been making threats after Audrey Hale as well.
Hope there is no more violence.
Said it before and I'll say it again, a fake outrage snuffed all the greatness of this game in the public eye. I can't believe a game that generated a billion fucking dollars isn't even being talked about in the gaming public like it should!Reee and /gamingcirclejerk are having a group therapy session as we speak
Oh you should've been around during COVID. I took it seriously but like a lot of people, got burned out over the tragedy porn aspect. Joined a circle jerk to make fun of the news and people and received like 15 bans from subreddits I wasn't even part of. That sites nuts in general, great for hardware talk and hobbies (cars, monitors, diy, gardening) but I can't be assed to do anything else.Oh, how unexpected from reddit moderators.
I don’t disagreeRowling hoping and praying mentally ill cretins stage another boycott when the sequel gets announced so it can be skyrocketed to success again
lol. I think I saw that one. Did he look like Benjamin Franklin? If you believe in God, pray for our nation. This is (and has been) something else.

Yes, but certainly didn’t act like himlol. I think I saw that one. Did he look like Benjamin Franklin?
More like, no amount of money anyone makes can compare to surrending to God. No amount of human rights violations will ever be justified against naturally occurring human experiences based on millions of years of evolution whether it's straight or lgbt.If you believe in God, pray for our nation. This is (and has been) something else.

or that high-quality licensed games make bank? or are they more likely to go, why'd we ever stop making licensed games to begin with? We can churn out garbage and make a fortune!!!!11121e42hq3ruoehvaeousrhgvuigezsbrfiugvbI hope these last single player hits like RE4, GoWR, ER and HWL send a clear message to publishers/devs.
Why is the Rust icon there..? I mean, it's a programming language (with really shitty syntax).
*remember*
So much this. Wanting to boycott a game because someone understands biology is quite ridiculous. Good for J.K. Rowling. I know she wasn't involved in the making of this game, but she still received a small amount for it.
It's not necessarily a bad formula. If it's done right it can still be kinda fun.Funny how people suddenly love Ubisoft style game design when it's Harry Potter.
