Oh, Isee. The webm looks fluid at least, but the original is hideous.i was mostly talking about the animations / cg look, resolution wise the video is better but it still doesn't look fantastic at youtube 1080

I tried to watch it cause it was on Netflix and there's so little these days left for me to watch to justify my subscription, but it was pretty bad.
The most gorgeous anime I've ever seen was "Garden of Words." I don't know what the production values are, but man I can't stop watching it for the art

This is a correct post. Garden of Words is absolutely orgasmic visually. All of Mokoto Shinkai's films are glorious scenery and lighting porn.

Shinkai is a fucking wizard, never seen anything that looks as good as his movies. 5CM Per Second, The Place Promised in our Early Days and Voices of a Distant Star are phenomenal as well.
I guess I gotta catch more of his stuff. That's the only one of his works I've ever watched
It was so beautiful, I've been mesmerized by it for months and once per week watch it and try to emulate some of its style in my art. I can't even come close, but it's some inspiration.
Will do.Good to hear. Please don't be too shocked by the first episode, it's an exposition dumb without much action. The show get better by episode 2, though.
When you watch it, give us your impressions in AnimeGAF, I'd love to read them.
Not for me.Is this thread satire? The anime looks awful.
Question: Is that native or did somebody speed it up?
Statement: This looks impressive, but it's a mecha. The biggest problem are the humans.
Yeah you do. 5 Centimeters Per Second is amazing as well, and The Place Promised in Our Early Days and his much older and much rougher but near completely made by one-man project Voices of a Distant Star are close favorites for me too. I still can't believe that he made Voices in almost half a year doing almost everything himself. Fucking nuts to me.

This is top notch animation?
Looks incredibly cheap.
I don't watch anime, but Akira is more top notch than this.
If we are going with production values regarding Mechas anime, I think that everyone needs to see a true gem and that is:

I mean, this was totally off radar to me but in my weekend boredom was browsing Netflix and decided to give it a try.
Holy mother of God. This is Attack on Titan in space but with an stratospheric budget. Sometimes I can't even discern what's CG from traditional anime, and the animation itself is top, top notch. Story is a bit cliché but at least it doesn't require a PhD to understand like Evangelion.
For those looking for an awesome sci fi, mecha anime to watch, look no further. GAF's take on it?
This show is: Exciting, Imaginative
That's because it's 100% CG. There's no hand drawings anywhere in it. It really fails to portray Tsutomo Nihei's art (which you can get a small glimpse of in the "commercial breaks").
