I might have bought a PS5 if i wouldn't have to camp on 15 sites hoping i'll get a console at store price, even from legit stores. They bundle it with crappy games, shitty movies, slap a 50% higher price on it and call it a day.
No amount of fast SSD loading gonna make me sell a kidney to have one.
Oh and Horizon is just your standard open world game, i can play a dozen other Sony or Ubisoft titles and have the same itch scratched

The 13 second load time with hints is a non issue, the fix is more of a lifehack thing.

If that's true, it's the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Native PS5 games shouldn't have loading screens at all, there should just be a quick fade-out-fade-in. Put your gameplay tips in a help menu or whatever.
Edit: Ok, good that this can be disabled. But are there still 13s load times? There really shouldn't be if this is truly a PS5 engine. But it's not I guess.

Like all products it should be tailored to what the consumer wants. Are consumers asking for tips in loading screens? Or are they asking for them to be integrated elsewhere in the game?

The game should teach you those things through gameplay, not through loading screen tips. If you have to artificially prolong your loading screens to teach players important things (or even have them at all even they're not actually needed), you should rethink how your game is designed.

I disabled the tips btw because I don’t need them but I’m not a whiny infant to cry over this and make fake outrage like you and others are doing ITT.

But I wrote my first reply before I knew what this actually was. The thread title and first post make it sound like the game actually slows down the loading to show the tips, whereas I now understand that's not really the case.
I still maintain that proper next-gen releases shouldn't have loading screens at all though. Was Demon's Souls Remake a worse game because it didn't show item descriptions during loading screens? No, it was much better for it. Just a quick fade is so much nicer. This game should be doing that too, and the fact that it seems to be made with slow loading in mind clearly indicates that this is a PS4 game up-ported to PS5 rather than the other way around.

I think my main issue is that the game really shouldn't have visible loading screens at all. It only does because it's really a PS4 game at its core.

Clearly these tips are not made for the majority of people who come to this sort of place but the first game sold over 20 million copies and what people in places like this think are absolutely meaningless in terms where those numbers come from. That was the first game in a brand new IP and now Horizon is very much a well known entity so it would be a surprise if it didn't end up expanding the user base into people who have never even heard of this place and may never even look at the options in any game.
For me, the first thing I do when I play a game is sort out what I'm doing with my options and this was something that I switched off but I certainly have no issues with having to do that. I'm sure some will say that people should always go into the menus to switch things like this off if they want to but that could always be countered with the fact people should always go into the menus to switch things like this on if they want to.
Just having a quick look on YouTube now it seems pretty clear that many of the people playing the first game recently just play as the game comes out of the box rather than going into the options as I would.

Second, I didn’t say what their data showed, I made a comment that is what it SHOULD be based off and not their decision as a developer on their own. which was the only intent of my comment. The second part is my personal opinion on the matter as a consumer.
If their data says the majority of people in their focus testing liked it, great. The question I have is did they just ask them if they like tips in the loading screen or did they say hey, these tips come at the cost of faster loading times, do you still like them or should they be somewhere else also that’s easily accessible? Those questions matter and the way you ask them matter.

The default setting there is a choice, you've got to give them that. If they'd done the RE remakes they would have kept the door/stair animations for the artistic value.

Well the mode on default still prompts you to press X before you continue, so you wouldn't really know until you changed the setting to immediate.

That is what it does by default but there is a setting to disable that and load immediately into the game and skipping hints.
