Horizon Zero Dawn |OT| The Land After Time

Question which has probably been answered but I am too afraid to read spoiler comments.

I am at the
Climb Down portion Deep Secrets of the Earth

Am I really unable
to do my side quests, errands, collectable hunting etc once I start this?

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

You're fine, keep playing.

Melee is extremely underpowered, you're better off shooting or slinging enemies at close range. A low setup, high DPS method is to open with a tearblast arrow to remove weapons and armor, lob frost bombs until the freeze meter is full, and then open up with hardpoint arrows or sticky bombs. You can tie down a storm bird, freeze hit and stack a bunch of sticky bomb and kill hit very fast. Feels cheap but not as cheap as corruption arrows or silent strike on weak enemies.

Speaking of silent strike, I've seen many posts about how easy it makes the game on various sites, but it's only to get rid of watchers and weak gatherer robots, you won't be one shotting any notable opponents.

You'll get the power cells as you progress through the main story.

R2 isn't weak if you powered it up though. It can knock out any machine that isnt a Stormbird or Thunderjaw.

I really enjoyed Aloy's increasingly extreme reactions to Nil's general demeanor and constant sunny disposition despite all the blodshed. They did a great job of making her look and sound really skeeved out by him.

sooo by pure luck i got to hack a stormbird on a side mission, he didnt waste any time to make sure i was safe and decimated some watchers and and longlegs i avoided like 30mts away from our location

shit was fucking lit

Nil the best NPC.

Though I am a huge fan of Warchief Sona. Her VA was awesome.

Just learned what
Zero Dawn
is.... bruhhhhh

Edit

I'd like to add, it is amazing how every time I thought I knew where the story was going, or how certain plot elements would come to fruition I have been wrong. This is amazing SciFi.

I accepted. It was as a pretty fun choice. Not sure what happens if you decline. Loved interacting with that maniac. Wish he had a bigger role overall.

I did decline.
Nothing happens, she just choose not to fight and spare him, although, he was sad I didn't dual. He does show up later at the defenses, even though he is not considered Ally.

Video I just made killing a Thunderjaw in less than 30s (no tripwire involved):

That exactly how I deal with Thunderjaw. It's super efficient.

I have a hard time choosing if I prefer fighting Rockbreaker or Stormbird. They are both my favorite robots.

I finally finished the game, platinium 100% with 96h of play time, what a game. I think I will launch it from time to time only for the joy of a hunt.

If I had to add somthing through a DLC, it would be to have more things to do with the Hunt Lodge. More named robots like Redmaw and challenges would be cool.

I feel like I need to work on my dodging, slow-mo while aiming and movement. I die a LOT in this game and feel like I'm doing something wrong.

As someone who enjoyed Far Cry Primal for about 10-15 hours before getting bored and not finishing it, would you guys recommend this game?

I may be being completely ignorant here but it looks kinda like an extremely pretty 3rd person version of Primal but with robot dinosaurs instead of Mammoths and Sabrecats? How much of the Ubisoft gameplay loop is intact in Horizon? Would I be spending my time climbing watchtowers (robot giraffes) all game to unlock copy/paste points of interest for example? How is the side quest design?

I ask as I've been looking at the gifs and reviews of this game and it looks phenomenal, looks a ton of fun, I love the premise with the robots etc, but I'm worried that I'm already a little burnt out of cookie cutter open worlds such as the Far Cry series.

Update history for 1.10 released yesterday states "facial animation improvements in several conversations". Is there more details on what exactly that involves?

Yes it's like Far Cry, but the gameplay and story are much better and the world is much more compact. There's always something interesting to do.

Corrupted versions don't count towards this trophy.

Look at your stats. There's al list of all machines you've killed.

Finished the main quest line this afternoon. Such an amazing game.
As much as I love the Killzone games, I feel that this was their most solid game to date overall.

Just got a few trophies left to get and I'll be ready to jump into Persona 5 :D

If some of these beasties move too fast for you, don't forget to freeze/shock or ropecast to slow them down

Gravity Rush to Horizon to Nier to Persona. What a year for PlayStation.

With the a.i. I noticed faster responses, more aggression, and better transitions between phases of damage models. They alert other machines more efficiently. Overall machines are more dangerous.

The lanceheads? will do a dive and get their horns stuck in the ground. Aggression.

I just did my first cauldron (the sigma one)

omg!!! what a fucking epic battle

seen cauldrons mentioned a lot what are they/how do i access them?

also the specialist merchants in maridian how do i sell them shit? i'm got cups and metal flowers but i haven't got the option to see to the relevant merchant

I don't like Far Cry at all and I love Horizon. Engaging story with great lore. Good characters and stories. Side quest are good but no The Witcher III level (some are really close tho), spectacular combat and enemy designs.
The tower thing, there's only 5 of them, and are much more interesting to face than any tower ever in any other game (that I've played).
The game is a mix between Far Cry and The Witcher III (in a reductive way of course, it has its own appeal too) but the rpg aspect is really friendly.

I completely missed the first one until about 20hrs in, there is a quest you pick up very early on that points you in the direction of the first one, the second one I found was Zeta, but ran away when I found out what the boss was!

I think you can only "sell" cups and flowers once you have the full set.

Check stats for machine types killed. You'll probably spot a machine type is missing: that's the one you've got to get. It's easy to miss one as an ally might have got the kill or an overidden machine on your side.
