You're both missing the point. Having a poor bit of dialogue and voice acting in a game (assuming it's an outlier) is pretty inconsequential in the grand scheme of things — especially if it's a side-quest.

I thought Triss's voice acting in general was questionable. Same for Geralt, really. If it weren't for the conceit that he was supposed to be an "emotionless witcher", I would even go as far as to label it unacceptable.
That dialogue wasn't as bad as you're giving it credit for. On top of that, you're viewing it entirely outside of its context, and AFTER you're basically being primed to think it's shit by everyone else saying it's shit.

Looks like a your standard RPG. The only thing that stood out was that awful Brom cutscene. Everything else was just what you would expect only prettier.
What's the point? You want me to be optimistic about this game because we haven't seen everything yet?

What bias? I already said that I'm buying the game in this very thread xD Also I would have you take down the attitude down a notch, if at all possible.
My extrapolation means a lot to me. I look at a game and make an assessment based on everything they've shown so far of it's gameplay mechanics (not the story etc, but gameplay mechanics). If they're purposefully hiding some huge game changing gameplay mechanics (on a moment-to-moment level) then yes I will have been wrong but it would also be a pretty strange marketing strategy.

The delivery in this scene is better than the Horizon cutscene that everyone is focusing on, but the animation and visuals of the NPC make it worse. Jensen and the other guys could be in different games. The NPC looks like he should be from a remaster of Human Revolution...

Im loving Aloy. Her voice actress is fantastic. In fact all the voice acting is great apart from Brom. But he's playing a schizophrenic having a pretty serious episode so I can't blame the voice actor for hamming it up a bit.

I never saw the same outrage over Deus Ex, but this thread is full of people fixated on a multiple dialouge scene from a side quest.
I think this voice acting and dialogue is better than Horizon's, and while the animation is also bad, it looks more consistent than Horizon's does.

You're being too generous. There's zero context needed for that to see it's plain badly animated and voiced.
I'll give you Triss. Worst voice acting in the game by a wide margin. Geralt's fit the character of someone stripped of emotion. I never heard a line uttered that wasn't in line with that, and instead sounded flat bad. It was always decent at worst.

It's not that it looks more consistent, it's that the fidelity of Deus Ex MD isn't so high that it's genuinely producing an uncanny valley effect.

Edit checked. If the quality of this is consistent with most side quests, it's not exactly the part of the game I want to spend time with. And if it's going to be consistent with the main quest, same thing.

Also, I do not think it was just the one cutscene people are referencing. I don't remember the name of the character since the video was taken down, but I think it was the one with Kral or something similar. The voice acting was just as terrible in that scene.
Again, I hope the gameplay is good. I hope the game is good. But just because you like something doesn't mean that it is without faults.

The main criticism is that it doesn't just look like it's taking cues, but rehash what I've seen a dozen times over. I enjoyed FC3, but pretty much ever since similar games just can't keep me invested. All I can see is the mechanics and UI hand-holding designed to cater to the lowest common denominator. Even if some of it can be disabled, the game is probably designed relying on them to take out frustration that will otherwise ensue. So I'm stuck with following markers to gather shit to upgrade my shit to progress. It's a pointless time sink.
Essentially I feel like this game is more like this altered image of BB, when I would prefer it to be what BB actually is like.
Witcher 3 does follow some of the same boring open world mechanics, but its saving grace is the world and its lore in addition to the quests and characters. This is something I highly doubt Horizon will be able to replicate. I'm still hoping that it'll be a step above Far Cry Primal, but I'm certainly not pre-ordering this. The core gameplay has to have a lot more going for it than all the standard open world time waster mechanics and map fillers we've seen before. And this is coming from someone who actually likes DA: Inquisition.
I agree about the voice acting and dialogue but completely disagree with the animations. It's just outright much worse than Horizon's. That's not to say Horizon's is great, and all of these types of games are going to be pretty inconsistent with them, but I still find Horizon's a pretty big step up overall.
