Fuck Trump and fuck the GOP. I have relatives who actually hold that view because "i won't be alive when shit actually hits the fan so it doesn't concern me" or "all those people wanting food stamps are just lazy and should get to work". I know and am related to people like that and it disgusts me.

So my question is if this crap heads to a Conference Committee, but never actually was debated in any standing committees, which senior members would be chosen to staff it?

Ok, but just getting rid of the mandate and leaving other aspects in place is unworkable. If you're concerned about lower-income people (as you should be!), the answer is more subsidies and/or a public option.

I never thought I'd live in a world where supervillains were actually real, but here we are. I mean, we've had horrible people doing horrible things throughout our run on this planet, but the GOP are the type of villains our Saturday Morning Cartoons warned us about. It would be darkly comical if people's lives were actually being ruined.

Not yet. But it's looking increasingly likely that they will pass this.
I think with the skinny repeal, the actual tax breaks will be pretty minimal from what I understand. So, it's like, there's not even that huge issue pushing this this time. It's just for a need to do "something," I guess. Maybe they think the Freedom Caucus will stop it again, but I doubt it this time
