Personally I'm not really opposed to sugar parents, but I wouldn't want my daughter to to be a sugar baby. It's the kinda thing where I don't care as long as it doesn't affect me.

That said, I wouldn't be entirely opposed to having a suga mama...

It's weird and complicated. Like humanity.
 
Too some people sex isn't all that. Have some sex, get some perks. Why not. I sure as hell would have done that with the right sugar momma in college

However, I'm sure there are many that can't handle it and would get screwed over by it. You could try to actively stop it to protect those that cannot handle it, but considering we don't do that with alcohol or other vices I'm not sure I'd advocate it. Let them do it and provide assistance if they ever want or need to stop

It just feels to me like certain things in life shouldn't be so expensive that people need to get into major debt for - or in this case becoming a sugar baby. For me that would be the basics of life people deserve: Food, shelter, healthcare, education. If you want to do it for luxuries that is fine of course.

It's more a complaint about education being so expensive in some places that people feel they need to do this, which would mean it is not totally of their free will and open to abuse.

Sex is a little different. A judge can sentence you to pick up garbage or some other community service. If a judge sentenced a woman to having sex with a bunch of men, I doubt it would just be considered like any other community service.

Camming is a lot more work than people make it out to be, though. To be anything that even resembles successful, it's about more than just setting up your cam and showing your boobs. I'd argue that getting a sugar daddy is probably easier (if you know where to look) and more discreet.

In terms of coercion it isn't any different. But sex isn't just any other job, just like physically beating and being beaten by someone isn't just any other job.
 
People who judge others for a mutually beneficial arrangement between two consenting adults, just because sex is involved, need to get over themselves.

Your genitals aren't sacred. A loving relationship is worlds away from having sex for personal gain, and one has nothing to do with the other.

It is incredibly widespread.

My problem is that college tuition has become so ridiculous that in some cases, if you want an education, this is the only option.

Both parties are taking advantage of each other in some way, so as long as it remains consensual and mutually beneficial, I don't really see a problem with it.

I'm also of the opinion that prostitution as a whole should be legalized and regulated, and this isn't really any different.

I don't think they do. They'll give the loans to anybody. But if you don't want to get a real job while you're in school and your parents aren't supporting you there aren't that many other options for income.

I'm doing that now and it's less desirable.

I rather have a sugar daddy, and still get involved in activities like research, leading student organizations, making no study-time sacrifices, and having the flexibility to do other things that will put me ahead just as well or better than working will.

An no as a industrial engineering major working in a mfg environment often 6 days a week I can't physically do all of those things.

Hmm, i concede. I can only add that resorting to sex work to support one's education is definitely not unique to very expensive education systems, where i live we have relatively cheap education that can be further mitigated by education subsidies, and there are still many students who prostitute to support independent living, or school itself in some cases (e.g. private education not covered by subsidies). I don't know how much money a sugar daddy can be expected to provide... maybe there's a significant salary difference between sugar daddies and prostitution.

But just seeing the concept from this specific lens seems like kind of a cop out... it's a conveniently thin perspective that i don't think actually explore what people think about women who have sugar daddies (i need to find another word to describe this).

I feel like women are able to over look the looks (or lack thereof) because of the cash. Where in my case I wouldn't have sex with a busted looking old woman unless it was like 50 grand a pop.

As for how do I feel? I wouldn't date a woman who did that. Its her choice, but yeah, not for me. I'd be her friend and give her a hug though.

I've got a friend who does it through that sugar daddy website. Usually she has a few sugar daddies that she sees once or twice per week. She earns a bunch of money. She seems to be happy with it, though if the guys are creepy or the sex is really bad/weird she finds new ones. Seems to be really easy to find guys willing to pay hundreds of dollars to hang out or to fuck, which is shocking to me. If I had a bunch of money I wouldn't pay hourly for sex, but what do I know?
