The one at the ceiling right when you walk in?

I'm pretty sure this isn't a control issue. I'm like 98% effecient with the touch pad.
But maybe that 2% is what I need to get that red coin. What's your guys approach to doing this?

Should I go dpad and do a sideflip? backflip? what?

You need Mario/Mario hat to get it. Use his balloon float ability.

Ah, that's the easy way. Well-placed triple jumps and wall jumps would work too.

Or get Luigi or a Luigi hat and use his backflip hover from the stairs. Much easier.

Yeah, I guess I'm not one to talk. When I was addicted to SM64 back in the day I did a lot of crazy shit. Like runs through the entire game getting all the stars I could without ever using a canon, wing cap, etc.

It's amazing what you can pull off. I think there was something like four stars in the entire game that you really truly needed the canon for.
