How does GAF feel about snapchat?

The correct way to use snapchat is to only put things on your story, and obsessively check who has looked at your dumb pictures and videos. That way you know which of your friends actually like you.

Snapchat is great, and probably the most innocent way to chat with somebody who isn't yet willing to disclose their number

A lot of my friends use it and I see the appeal, but I don't use it. My friends all use it to just send selfies to friends. It's so self-important. Like, if you were dating I could understand it, but who the fuck wants 20 pictures of your face throughout the day?

Maybe it's just my friends though. If people sent funny/cute things they see instead of just selfies I'd probably use it a lot.

They're doing it wrong. Social media should be used for comedy. Make better friends

Far as I know this is how things go according to what I've seen and heard:

Snapcat: Used for pictures, silliness, drunk shit, updates, kinda the new Facebook

Kik: Penises and boobs

Tinder: Wanna fuck?

The girl i'm talking to uses it a lot so i started using it more. It's a good way to post random unpolished photos that you wouldn't post on Instagram.

Never used it but some of my friends do. I think I'm in the top of the target demo (25) but who knows. My 13 year old niece uses it I think but I don't know what for. I'm not exactly sure what it does.

my cousin is about your age and he uses it a little bit. he refers to the people that use it regularly as "kids" even though i'm 25.

That's perfectly fine, some entertaining stuff can be found on snapchat. Just don't flip out on your cousin one day and call him a "fogey".

No opinions either way.

It's pretty stupid. I tried getting into it but all my friends are pretty insufferable on it, I really hate how everything is becoming about vanity these days and people feel the need to know everything that's going on in other people's lives. However, I find the discover tool is kind of a cool thing for bigger companies when there's big name people on it

I'm 29, I think I've gotten a couple things on it. Not sure if I've ever sent anything on it. Not really sure what I'm supposed to do. Generally if I want to send a picture I send it over text or Facebook messenger.

I've installed it a few times and poked around, but the interface is really confusing to me. Also, none of my friends use it so it's pretty pointless for my particular case.

I'm 30 and prefer my phone to have buttons. I think I know what it is but I try to pretend it's some annoying young person's thing.

I love it. I'm in my late twenties and use it daily. Tons of my friends do too. Also, I follow some cool celebrities. I also hear following porn stars can be fun but I haven't tested that yet.

I love following celebs on it. I'm following Ashley Benson, Jared Leto, and a few others. All have interesting/funny feeds.
Remy LaCroix and Megan Rain's feeds are fantastic.

I used to use it, but it slowly turned from "check out this cool thing" into snapchatting nothing but videos of people clubbing, memes and other stuff I try to avoid on social media.

Shame, really. I liked it.

Haha very true. Terrible UI imo, but i think it also goes to show how the current youth generation is so used to having no buttons/visual layout... Its all just swipes and taps without a button, digital or physical. Either way once you learn t its not too bad. Just gotta adapt to the times or be old, stop progressing, and wither away as a stone age grandpa. Because things inthe future wont be getting any easier

To be fair, the tutorial is a sack of shit. Naturally when I return to the app I forgot everything. We're at a point with the swipes and taps that browsing an app just isn't very intuitive.

There should be an button for 25+ and it would transform the ui with action-buttons.

i don't really know what it is. from what i understand you take pictures (and write a bit of text on it?) then send it and the other person only has so long to look at it before it's deleted. i guess maybe young people use it to take inappropriate photos because they know it's only temporary. i don't know.

personally, i don't understand the appeal of it. if i want to look at someone when i talk to them i'll use a video chat (skype, hangouts, facetime). if i want to look at pictures people take then i'll follow them on twitter or instagram.

I don't really use it, but I can see how it would be great if you have the right sort of friends or family. I know people who use Snapchat as a daily diary or scrapbook, recording what they're up to and staying in touch with their social circle.

I don't use it personally but some of my friends are great at building stories that are entertaining to follow, so I'd say it has value.
