How many games have you paid full price in the last year?

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
To me, most of the new games are shit and I rarely buy anything full price. Most of the games I even play now on all platforms are typically older games. The only game I paid full price for in the last year was Astro Bot. I thought nothing else was worth getting on release date. My personal opinion is gaming peaked a few years ago and has been on a roller coaster ride to hell since then. Others think this is the best generation and every release is fantastic. How many have you purchased at retail price in the last 12 months?

Once, but for most games I wait until a sale. In my case it doesn’t depends on quality, more on how much this games could be a game I want to play everyday (so it depends more on genre and the ability to play it for a short amount of time per session).

Depends on what you mean by full price, 0% dicount or 60/70€?
Bought 15 that were preorders/day 1, but some were early access/indies so priced lower, quality, quantity and variety is better than at any point in history.

How could you even know games today are going backwards if youve only bought one new release in the last year? Using a sample size of 1 game is like admitting you dont even know what youre talking about.

I paid full price for the first time this generation, two days ago. I bought the Yakuza game. That was $60.

I haven't paid $70 this generation yet. I don't have anything against it. I just haven't had a game where I wanted to get in on Day 1. With most titles, I'm fine with waiting.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Dunno, most of my purchases are through key resellers so if I play a game day 1 I'll probably do it for around 40 or 50€.

Zero. It has been years for me, maybe since middle of last last gen I might have bought 1. I planned on pre-ordering Doom Dark Ages but the more I see the less I like. They might get me with Borderlands 4, but then again the BL games tend to drop to rock bottom prices pretty quickly.

I just don't want to support any of these devs these days. I do not agree with so many aspects of game development and I vote with my wallet every time.

Edit* Oh, made a liar of myself cause I just remembered I bought 3 copies of Metroid Prime 1 remake for Switch at a time when I didn't even have a Switch. I still have them just sitting on the shelf unopened. Perfect example of voting with my wallet.

Astrobot? I bought it for a friend and borrowed his PS5 to play it. My only console full price game this past year and I don't even own it. :(
Maybe Astrobot will get a PC release soon.

Ghost of Tsushima PC
Broken Sword remake PC
Several VR games on Quest 3.

I think everything else was bought on sale.

edit-seems I lied, I'm looking at my Steam and I bought a bunch of games 'full price'.
The Plucky Squire (not a good buy, not a good game)
Riven-I bought this to play in VR
Beyond good and Evil 20th anniversary edition Nostalgia got me.
Penny's Big Breakaway-This is a fun little platformer.

BAULDURDS GATE 3-How did I forget this. I bought it full priced and have not even played it yet!

I like to stock up on games around christmas or holidays because the sales are insane. I just can't justify 70 dollars for alot of games nowadays and with said sales and used games being prevalent i don't have to.

Not sure if there's any, since even on the launchers themselves publishers have been offering pre-order discounts.

Reading your post I think what you're actually asking is how many games have you bought day 1, instead of older discounted games.

In that case many, many many games day 1.

Only the console games if you mean totally full priced, so Fifa 25 and Rebirth, not sure if it's been over 12 months already since this game was released on PS5.

Other day 1 games on PC were KCD 2, SH 2, Path of Exile 2, this one was full priced actually but it was like 30€?

And i think that was it, can't see myself getting any other day 1 game for a long time, not that interested in any upcoming game (Expedition 33 but that's on GP), Slay the Spire 2 actually, that's day 1 too.

None.
Games are too expensive at the moment where I live.
And I always have a ton to play in my backlog anyway
And games are usually not only cheaper but also better after 6-12 months.

Black Myth Wukong. I pre-ordered the FFVII Rebirth Steam release as it was on sale. Tokyo Extreme Racer early access. I bought a bunch of other games too but all on sale and all older than 2024

2024?

FF7 rebirth ps5
Wukong ps5
Dragons dogma 2 ps5
Stellar blade ps5
Astro bot ps5
Silent Hill 2 ps5
Indiana Jones steam

Although indiana was from cdkeys and all ps5 games are physical for like 5-10$ because physical is always cheaper. But I consider that full price

None. There are plenty of stores that offer significant discounts on Steam keys.
Besides, there are few games that are worth buying day one. Most often, it's better to wait a few months for important patches and fixes.

Only a few. Dragon's Dogma 2, Rebirth, and indie stuff like UFO50. Oh, and my beloved Diablo/Elden Ring DLC.

I might buy Wilds from a keyshop though.

I used to buy everything, I would rip through new releases. Those days are long gone. Emulation + Retroachievements has me covered for 50% of my playtime, and a select few releases + stuff like WoW has me for the rest. Gaming sucks now.

Honestly think it's been about 3.

Game Pass, backlog and using the wishlist on PS Store has been a blessing. But to be honest its more that by the time I finish a game in my backlog the other games are usually on sale anyway

Resident Evil is the only real series I purchase on release, as it has always been my favorite.

I did get Astrobot on release and purchased Stray despite having PS+ access to it to support the devs and for the kids to always have it.

For a great many games, I've found it just better to wait not only for deals, but the ever-increasing problem of games needing several patches before it feels worthy of your money.

I waited for Cyberpunk til late last year and recently Jedi Survivor, after both games had several patches to enhance their overall quality to justify a purchase.

I'm not sure, but I think Jedi Survivor had like..7 or 8 major patches. I don't have a Pro, but it seems to run well on the base PS5 now.

SH2 was the last one, I guess, but that was $20 off with various game fly coupons.
