How soon are you jumping into the next generation of consoles?

I wonder what the timescale will be between Japanese and Western launch for PS3? I'd prefer an American PS3 if I get stuck with imports/no chip. But if its more than 6 months I'll risk a Japanese PS3.

Japan PS3: late winter to early summer
USA PS3: early summer to mid fall.

can't be more specific than that obviously since we dont know exactly when but from what i've read it is going to be 6 months or less. more like the gap between PS2 release in Japan and USA (or less) rather than the gap between PS1 release in Japan and U.S.

I'd like to do the Japanese launch in Japan, but I'd prefer to go in spring (I always seem to be over there in the winter). So March 06 would be good for me. But then the US launch would only be 6 months away.....

Why is it when I read this...

Revolution - At Launch, I know what ti expect from Nintendo systems and that makes me happy

...I knew something like this was coming...

Xenon - Who knows, I'm sure I will at some point but probably not till a few price drops, you know I have a PC and most of the major Xbox releases end up with better versions on PC, I can see this happening with Xenon too so we shall see when I grab this one

Nicely played, chap!

I remember when the Dreamcast came out and i was like, meh.......... Then one day i was in Best Buy and i happen to see NFL 2k. My jaw dropped and i got back into gaming just because of those graphics.

I'm a graphics whore. Oh, the shame i feel. I'm sorry, but just looking at Doom 3 and HL2 and then thinking of what will be possible on a dedicated console next year makes me hard with anticipation.

I say bring the new systems on as soon as possible.

PS3 after six months just because it's almost certain that the first models will be defective.

Revolution on launch.

Xenon after the PS3/Revolution launch and after I've determined that it'll not become a Dreamcast.
