Rating: Solid B when compared to everything else, but with a side note that this was technically the best Gamescom-specific showing.

Games of note:

Pre show:
  • Bubsy 4D (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Battlestar Galactica: SH
  • Outlaws Remaster (Reveal with gameplay)
  • Densha Attack! (New reveal with gameplay)
  • He-Man Dragon Pearl of Destruction
  • Absolum (gameplay, release date, and new character)
  • Long Gone
  • Valor Mortis (game of pre-show) (New reveal with gameplay)
  • PVKK
  • Routine
  • Swords of Legends (Reveal with gameplay)
  • Sonic/Pac-Man multiple games DLC

Main show:
  • CoD Black Ops 7 (gameplay and modes reveal)
  • Lords of the Fallen 2 (Reveal)
  • Sekiro Anime
  • Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (unironically game of show) (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Dawn of War 4 (Reveal with gameplay)
  • More Onimusha gameplay
  • Arknights: Endfield
  • Fallout Season 2 trailer
  • Indiana Jones DLC gameplay
  • Toxic Commando (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Death By Scrolling (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Zero Parades (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Unbeatable
  • Honor of Kings: World (looks like that secret level episode actually was for a new game) (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Cinder City (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Time Takers (New reveal with gameplay)
  • Divinia Commedia (New reveal)
  • Moonlighter 2 gameplay
  • Bloodlines 2 (gameplay and release date)
  • KCD 2: Legacy of the Forge
  • Cult of the Lamb Woolhaven (reveal with gameplay)
  • Project Spectrum (reveal with gameplay)
  • Ghosts of Yotei Multiplayer Reveal
  • Resident Evil 9 new story snippet
  • Black Myth Zhong Kui (New reveal)
A lot of new I.P. and not only that, quite a few of them with gameplay snippets. Geoff as usual has the show pacing problem where he has a moment of things slowing down about 3/5 of the way through the show, then picking up at the very end. It needed a couple more big bang moments to be an A.

You know it's a rough show when Bubsy was the best reveal of the night.

I gave it a D. Some genuinely great surprises, like He-Man and Indy on S2 but there was so much filler slop, live service trash and wack commercials. It's always like this on Geoffs shows but Gamescom is usually the biggest offender. Still fun to watch though and shit post with others in the live GAF thread. Bummed about RE Requiem though. It was closing the show and it was so underwhelming. I really hope Capcom doesn't shit the bed here.

E - Almost nothing of value on display and very few reveals.

I think the only thing that surprised me the entire show was Dawn of War 4... I don't care about anime / tv adaptations. Onimusha, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Ghost of Yotei continue to look good. I guess Chocobos in Monster Hunter Wilds? Yay?

This is one of the worst conferences in a while. Any other conference could showcase the new RE game but with how certain things were handled and just a bad vibe, it was not enjoyable for me and I love me a good conference.

i am fucking tired, and i slept most of the show. i woke up when they were wrapping up. the host is fucking boring but idk who else could host the fucking show.

Only cool new game announced was Dawn of War IV. I'm happy for the RTS genre getting some love but, aside from that one, there's was nothing else for me in that show (when it comes to new games).

Some of the other stuff like Cronos, Ninja Gaiden 4 and some others looked cool, but I already knew I wanted those and didn't need to waste a few hours to see more of them.

So I gave it an F.
