I'm also curious about an earlier question regarding the 1080 that wasn't really answered. Has anyone tried swapping out a 980ti with a 1080 on this thing? I'm still happy with the 980ti but I imagine that if I come across a great deal on a 1080 it will be hard to resist. Plus, the fan noise on the 980ti is bugging me a bit and it sounds like the 1080 runs quite a bit quieter.

Hey! Thread bump

Just curious how many owners there are and if any of you guys are playing Mass Effect Andromeda?

There are 3 owners of this prebuilt that have mass Effect crashes where the system just turns off.

Anyone have similar issues?

Never mind reading the thread definitely looks like others have experienced it in other games too. Definitely a fault of the 500w PSU.

Yep, multiple effects in Andromeda just turn off the system. Do we have any idea what kind of workaround there might be?

So I just got my PSU switched out today. They told me it wasn't even 500 w but 470 w and it wasn't a surprise that high end games would cause issues. Hopefully now that I have a beast in there, no more problems. If anyone has one of the early Envy you may want to consider switching out.

What model PSU did you replace it with?

Anyone swap out a 980 Ti with a 1080 Ti on this custom build? Any issues, nuances, etc., one should be aware of before proceeding? Thanks.

I'd also like to know if anyone has done this. I have a 1080ti on the way, so I guess I'll find out, but was wondering.

Also any good image guides /videos to show how to open and take the bracket out of this machine? Heard the bracket in there is real annoying.

thanks!

I swapped in a Titan XP with zero issues. The bracket was annoyingly tough to undo but as long as you know about it you should be fine.

I used generic video card swapping videos on YouTube, it was last year I did this so can't remember the specific video. If I remember correctly, the bracket is kind of hidden so get a flashlight in there first to find it before doing the swap.
