WWF never would have beaten WCW without Stone Cold. Can't say the same for The Rock.
Hogan and Cena have better longevity though. but Austin is the closest thing to a GOAT in pro wrestling history
and pre-neck injury, Austin shat on all of them inr-ing
Austin never jobbed
Cena jobbed but in a way that never put anybody over or if he did, it was a rubber match situation (so he would go over in the end)
Rock jobbed even when he was the #1 draw in the world
Hogan never jobbed save for that one time at WM18 against Rock
In such an egomaniacal match I would say Austin or Hogan would pin Rock. I can't see Cena falling to the leg drop or the stunner.
Love Austin but... Flair.
The Rock is MJ23 of wrestling.
I thought it's widely knowing Warrior struggled to get over because of his Ego and bland ass characterCouldn't we say that the 80s had three, in Macho, Hogan, and Warrior?

Macho be close, but he always felt like the 2nd guy to Hulk (You can't say that about The Rock) I'm not sure without Hulk Macho could sell as top baby face for a long period, I love Macho though
Andre would be above Macho and Warrior
The post was about top faces. Wasn't Andre's time as a face (especially a working one) in WWF pretty short?

Austin Never jobbed?

He never did after he won the world title. Do you really want to go through all the bullshit finish when he lost? Like when he got busted open in the first blood match by Taker but he completely buried Kane the night after, or when it took a double chokeslam and combined pin by Taker and Kane to pin him, or when he got rolled up and fast counted at Over the Edge 99, or like when he got hit in the face by Rock so that HHH could pin him at No Mercy 99?
Hell the only clean pin he ate on PPV was from Mankind, and that was because he refused to job to HHH and he was on the way out because of his neck anyway.
After he came back he was in yet another bullshit "you pinned me by accident" finish with HHH at no way out 2001, after which he got never pinned clean, because the Unforgiven 2001 finish was due to 9/11, it does not count. More bs at Vengeance, some more at NWO2002, and then his career was pretty much over.

The Rock jobbed to Stephanie McMahon once
Hogan and Cena both have awful ring work but also probably the highest bullshit plot armor, so it's between them.
Love Austin but... Flair.
Hogan jobbed to Vampiro.
Nah he was always a babyface in the WWF until he turned heel for WM 3. He was probably a bigger draw than Hogan for most of that time too.
What about him? Flair peakedi n the 80s and went downhill from there. Flair's not even the most talented member of the Four Horsemen.
What about him... "The closest thing to GOAT in pro wrestling" is Ric Flair. If there can be a GOAT, which I'd say maybe there can't be, it's Flair.
If you dismiss flair for "peaking" in the 80s, that would disqualify Austin because Austin peaked over about 5 years. Flair's "peak" was like a 15 year peak. Don't get me wrong, I love Austin and think he's the the greatest out of these four, and also the greatest from WWF/E, but flair is my goat.
Also... Talking about wrestler talent is so odd. Flair is by far the most talented of the four hoursemen. He's the most talented wrestler in NWA/WCW. Talent doesn't just mean offensive moves. There are few more convincing sellers than flair, and not just the hokey stuff, few better than flair on the mic, few who can tell a match story better than flair. There's a reason Flair / Hogan was the most wanted fantasy wrestling match from 1985-1995, and it's not because of Hogan. But talking about talent and disparaging for for a lack of it, and mentioning he peaked over a decade, would do much more of a disservice to Austin... After Austin's neck and knee injuries, he really couldn't perform in the ring. Austin could do it all, but while he was on top he wasn't as gifted in the ring as he was earlier in his career, while Flair was undoubtedly the best worker in wrestling for a 10+ year run.
Austin is great, the greatest WWF wrestler and a total package. But not including Flair in mention of the GOAT wrestlers and then discounting him for artificial reasons (that apply to most other guys more so than flair) is very odd.

Angle tier? Angle wish he was as good as Flair.I'm not even sure Flair is Kurt Angle tier.
I'd take Austin, but Hogan did the most for professional wrestling of this four.
Like op says, The Rock is entertaining and incredible in every way, but Austin always felt more real for his entire career.
The Rock isn't a racist, isn't a wife beater, and is in good successful movies so he kinda wins by default.
Angle tier? Angle wish he was as good as Flair.
Naw, Without Hogan WWE wouldn't have gotten huge. Without Hogan there would be no stone cold.I'd argue Austin did more than Hogan

I know Hogan helped launch wrestling into pop culture, but Austin had a huge part in creating the hottest run of wrestling ever. Lets not forget Hogan helped kill WCW, sent WWE into a nosedive during the early 90s and contributed to the ruining of TNA.
Between WWF/E and TNA, he probably has if you are counting WCW.
Why wouldn't you count NWA/WCW...?
I love Angle, but he's probably not in a top 5 conversation, let alone Flair territory.
This is not true.Even though Hogan is a PoS, he was one of the core to carry the WWF and the first Superstar of wrestling.
Cena is my least favorite up their, but I can't hate a guy whose probably been one of the best characters to blow up. He past what, 500 wishes made? And shows no sign of slowing down. He also does a lot more charity work.
And most importantly, his favorite anime is Fist of the North Stars. How can you hate the man.
The Rock simply became too big for wrestling, way too much charisma.
Austin definitely took the era into the attitude era. Was supposed to be a villain, yet he played it so well people loved him.
