Hyrule Warriors |OT| Why are the enemies not doing anything?

Hacker/data miner crediar has found code tucked away on the disc suggesting a second Midna weapon (“hair”) and Tingle as a playable character.

The Tweets are a few weeks old, but I don’t think anyone has posted this here.

Well there will be 2 characters from Majora's Mask right? Tingle makes sense, everybody wants him.

I wonder if Zelda will get a DLC weapon too.

So does this also indirectly confirm that Ganon's Amiibo will also be supported?

Seeing as the TP pack's weapon will be the last non-amiibo DLC weapon, I doubt it. Ganondorf unlocking a weapon is very likely; but I'm not sure if Sheik will grant an entirely new weapon or be an alternate way to obtain Zelda's, like Toon Link likely will be for the spinner.

Either way, doing this was incredibly unnecessary. Ideally, they would have had all amiibo supported through purely cosmetic bonuses - scan Marth for a Falchion skin for Link's sword, for example - but even if they didn't want to put in any extra work, couldn't they just have gone with their material-generation thing for most amiibos and had the Zelda amiibos unlock the extra on-disc costumes, and put these weapons in the DLC packs?

Can we get manga dragon Majora instead?

We'll get him in a 'blasphemy pack' with King Harkinian, the Four Swords manga's Shadow Link, Gannonnndorf Dragmire, Baby Volga, as well as CD-i and Captain N costumes for Link and Zelda.

If they add more weapons to amiibos this is going to be disgusting. In top of the pre order bonuses, having to get more than one amiibo to unlock all the weapons? How much money do we have to spend to get all the content of this game?

Zelda's Amiibo doesn't seem to unlock a new weapon type though. At best, it'll just be a new weapon skin/tier. I guess most of these will be the same.

Calling it now. The Toon Link amiibo will give Link either a Wind Waker inspired costume or it'll give him a King of Red Lions weapon. Not what I'd like since I don't plan on buying any of the Zelda amiibos but I won't be surprised if that's the case.

I'd like to think that the cost will stretch out over time as they allow you to unlock stuff in many more games (including in future console generations). Regardless, it's hard to justify sucking up a lot of these figures in one go.

I'll definitely get Link, but probably won't be ordering any others until some time next year (if any -- it really depends on what benefit I'll get from them at that point).

Back OT, I never did think of Ganondorf. His probably will be supported and has been left out since his batch isn't out until past February.

I know it's more a Ganon's weapon, but why not give Ganondorf the Trident? nevertheless I will end up buying his amiibo anyway soo... hopefully they add something cool

Even if Ganondorf himself never used a trident, OoT Phantom Ganon getting a similar weapon should be enough of a loophole.

The Hyrule Warriors version of Ganondorf would also suit Phantom Ganon's skull headpiece fairly well...

Lol yeah I was lurking for a while~

But the amiibo thing has me thinking about what they could add or implement into this game and other Nintendo games for both Wii u and 3ds.

What are the chances of Young/Toon Link being added to the game GAF?

Right now, 0 since there is 0 WW content in the game or announced. Aside from the baton itself, of course.

Yeah, the baton is in.

I don't know, Young Link could happen I guess, but I'm not sure if there's enough demand for it. Toon Link is very unlikely; art style would clash too much I think and indeed the game isn't WW-focused.

And Fi's DLC costume. But it's definitely not been focused on in any significant way - even if there's a sequel, they might not include any WW characters due to the vastly different art style making it difficult to allow the use of ripped assets. Maybe they'll give Lana a Tetra costume or Valoo's Scale moveset.

What is even the likelihood of a HW2? I know the game exceeded their expectations but is it a title they are willing to make a series out of?

Personally I would love the idea of a sequel.

Slim but still a chance. They gave us Volga, Wizzro, and Cia for free. Doubt they'll do that for Young/Toon Link but anything's still possible. Also there's the possibility they'll make even more DLC after

I wonder if we'll ever get actual Hyrule Warrior amiibos, as I'd much prefer their designs over the smash ones, plus they could even be made with the fact they're figures in mind so they don't need frozen urine pillars or purple dildos to hold them up :p

It would be cool to have HW amiibo's but I think that ship has sailed. Maybe if there is a demand for them then I could see it, but amiibo's at this point haven't proved to be successful so its hard to say.

I think a sequel could be pretty likely. Though not sure what kind of time frame. Could be on the new console for all we know. It's not like these kind of games have big budgets, and a sequel would likely sell better.
But before a sequel I would expect to see a Zelda Musou Hyper edition or something, that includes all the DLC, maybe a couple new characters and some new scenarios or something.

Usually the spin offs get straight sequels though, not expansions, and the expansions of the mainline games don't include the DLC anyway. I think this DLC is covering all the content expansions would add anyway, considering the three new characters and two new game modes (depending on what they turn out to be, of course).

I guess a sequel could happen... From Koei's side, it seems to be their best selling Warriors title in the west right now and from Nintendo's they need more Wii U software.

In fairness, the 8-bit weapons clash with the overall art style pretty significantly, but I guess an entire character is a different story.

That said, I would totally love WW Link and Tetra skins!

I love your optimism! Hypothetically if there was a sequel, what would you want to see added to the game?

Well first of all, a whole bunch of characters from the new Wii U Zelda game. After that, really depends on how they want to focus the game. Wind Waker and the like would be cool, but I don't know, the art style clashes a lot, they'd have to do a few things differently. I think there are still many characters they can include from games like OOT, MM, TP and SS. More weapons from WW would be welcome. Every character and weapon from HW1 will be in HW2, the stages will probably be all-new though and hopefully there's many of them. A few design decisions need to be improved.

After that, I don't really know right now. HW2 will have twice as many characters as HW1, and hopefully they pick some cool ones.

I would want a ton of focus on the 2D games, Like Links Awakening and Link to the Past, along with some Oracle of Season/Ages stuff tossed in.

Or really just more stages and enemy types, Hyrule Warriors has a pretty small set of assists and just reuses them to make a ton of missions.

After DLC and amiibo, the first game could have up to 33 movesets. If a similar amount of work was put into the sequel, with a focus on single-moveset characters, it could represent a considerably larger portion of the series' history. Though they'll most likely pick another three games to focus on and fill the rest out with original characters.

As for art style concerns, while the 'cat-like' WW characters such as Tetra and Link couldn't really make the jump to HW; more proportionate designs like the King of Red Lions, Beedle, Linebeck and Byrne would easily fit - especially since Beedle was able to appear in Skyward Sword with a very similar design to his Wind Waker incarnation.

Besides, I ain't giving up hope until I see one for Cia. Plus with new amiibos being revealed everyday, there's plenty of hope especially if a sequel is coming.

Cia's return.

Hmm... Maybe I have a Cia problem. Nah, you guys are just delusional.

Characters from the entire series, not just three games is an obvious change. Here, they basically just gave lighter colors to the TP characters to make them fit with everyone else, but if they started covering more games they'd have to tweak the designs in other ways to keep an unified art style.

They also could have some HUB areas for legend or adventure mode rather than just menu navigation. More enemy and boss types, alongside new types of battles also could change up things.

Also, putting aside things like a wider range of bosses, enemies and maps, a less awful plot and characters representing every game in the series; the one thing the Hyrule Warriors sequel really needs is obvious.

A taunt button - especially if they used this voice clip for Link's.

give me adult Malon or Cremia for the sequel and we are good Tecmo

so I guess DLC won't come out tomorrow like the MK8 pack, oh well, hopefully we get more news next week

I want Tingle. The game needs Tingle, come on, he is THE joke character of the series!

(I wanted Groose too but I guess it is not possible anymore )': )

I think they could find a way to fit in the Wind Waker styled characters, it just might be me but I don't think they clash too much in Smash bros. Also since HW is more like a dream match kind of setting I think it can work more so in HW then say a new Zelda game with Time Dimension jumping.

Could you elaborate more on the design decisions that need to be improved? I'm new to the discussion and idk the consensus of who/what had bad designs in HW.

Or really just more stages and enemy types, Hyrule Warriors has a pretty small set of assists and just reuses them to make a ton of missions.

I think that is a common concern in most Warrior style game is the recoloring and recycling of enemies outside of the important key figures. I do think they could make a few more enemy types to keep things fresh.

So far It's only the Smash Amiibo's for now until they finish up that line. I think they will go to Mario Kart and other established brand names before say HW but I do want to BELIEVE in getting HW Amiibo's but I think it's more likely in a sequel since the timing is just terrible with the product launch and the compatibility with other games seems to be a after thought to increase overall value to the average Nintendo consumer.

Cia's return.

Hmm... Maybe I have a Cia problem. Nah, you guys are just delusional.
You have a problem....I think Cia burrowed and nested deep inside your brain....but it's cool so long as your fine with her grinding you beneath her heel~

I like the idea of a HUB map like they do in the Dynasty Warriors games, that could be pretty interesting. Do you think they should expand on the weapon crafting system?

When you say new types of battles, what do you mean specifically? Things like Escort missions?, defend "X" for "Y" amount of time?, or maybe 1 on 1 Duels?

A taunt button - especially if they used this voice clip for Link's.

Taunts would be cool, they were in Hokuto Musou(Fist of the North Star), but what effect would you want them to have in this game? Enemy manipulation, Meter gain, or verity of special effects depending on the selected character?

On the subject of new mechanics, are there anything else in terms of gameplay mechanics you would like to see in HW..err 2?

I was thinking both about different objectives in standard battles, and also some stages with different level design. They apparently had some dungeon-like levels that ended up dropped from the game to focus everything on the standard style, so adding some missions with those elements could work too. It should still feel pretty different from mainline Zelda even with some puzzles thrown in.

Yeah, I'm just baffled with what character they will add to the game. Either they will throw a curve ball and add someone like Purlo or Jovani, or will pick a "normal" character, such as a boar mounted King Bulbin, Ashei, or the Hero's Shade.

Love the OT title. I played the demo with my four year old son at Gamestop and he said "why are the monsters just standing there? I want to whack them with my sword"

have this on my Christmas list
good thing the DLC is cheap
i usually get money from my brother in law for Christmas, so ill use it to buy the dlc
man i hope Majora and Fierce Deity are the 2 playable characters
Nintendo could use them to promote Majoras Mask 3D

The TP is coming this month right? Or was it next? Seems strange that we've heard nothing about it so far.

It should be out this month. Every listing aside from an early NA one (even more recent NA ones too) mentioned this DLC was coming in November.

There was even mention that if development went well they'd reveal some stuff about it this or last week... I guess development isn't going particularly fast based on the utter dearth of info then :p

I just finished downloading the dlc but it didn't give me the lana or cia costumes. I checked and they both weren't there.

You need to start the game twice connected to the internet, once for the path (which adds Cia and the others), another for the dlc itself.
