Zelda? Do you want to build a bridge? It doesn't have to be a bridge. Ok. Bye.

So the new Twilight adventure map has some new rules. There's portals. You can't use red ones. Only green ones. You use Ooccoo cards to change them to green. Certain battles use Twilight rules and the area is covered in Twilight. You need Tears of Light cards to clear those areas.

So it begins.

I still don't know if I should pick up a Link Amiibo or wait for the cheaper option Iwata was talking about. Also not into the idea of having to find a place to store the figures since I'm sure as hell not displaying them out in the open.

My question is, for the 100 amiibo presents medal, can i use the same amiibo once every day or does it have to be 100 different amiibos? Cause i'm a completionist but fuck that if true.

Cheaper option?

Most likely the same. There's not even 100 amiibos out yet and even when the Smash line finishes... we're barely halfway (if Mewtwo gets one)

They'll sell only the tag or something and not the whole figure. Probably something just for future releases though. We don't know much about it.

I'm really confused about something. I got the whole set of DLC preordered. I downloaded the Master Quest DLC. Got Epona. Got the Guardians of Time costumes for Lana and Cia. Got Dark Link. But there's supposed to be palette swaps for all the characters? How do I access them? I don't see them.

I was under the impression you unlock those in the adventure maps

What are the new mixtures? I hope there is something to improve or get better (golden) item drops, please!

Playing on the Twilight map i've noticed enemies drop twice the items and that includes boss characters. But, i have yet to see two gold items dropped at the same time.

Yep. Question is when that will happen, though.

Cool. Thanks.

More specifically Master Quest and the Twilight map.

3 levels into the new adventure map and I can already see why they raised the level cap. My level 72 Lana feels like she's hitting things with wet tissue paper. This map is going to be a lot harder to A rank than the last 2.

EDIT: After you beat a limited character stage in the TP map you can replay it as any character.

What? Hate this. Means I won't even have a chance. I haven't even completed the first adventure map yet.

Watching someone play about on Link with the spinner just kinda bothers me because it highlights that there's all these interesting weapons on link, but he doesn't need any of them because he's already got the hilariously powerful master-sword.
Thanks to that weapon, the wide selection of other movesets on him seem wasted while there are other characters in the cast who could desperately use some kind of alternative to their one and only weapon :p

This is a boring mentality. Don't pick whatever moveset is the best. Pick whatever moveset you think is the most fun and the one you feel like using.

That's a logic i apply more to characters than movesets personally, which is why I don't really play Link. Also if the 'boring mindset' bothers you then just replace the word 'powerful' with 'fun' when describing the master sword as it's pretty amusing running around like a lunatic scything through crowds with it anyway :p

Midna is really good, like better than Link and Sheik good. This is her standard X attack

It seems like that level was just ridiculously hard for some reason. Every other level I've done since then has been about on par with the other adventure maps. I guess the teleporter missions must be harder than the others because they let you skip across the map.

Are you sure? Cause i just finished a map that was limited to Lana only and i still can't choose anyone but her. Granted, i got Rank C. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Rank might have something to do with it. Out of curiosity, what stage is it?

I really wish there were level recommendations or something on each map. There's nothing worse than entering a level, seeing how little damage you're doing to enemies, and thinking, "Should I push on? Am I supposed to be this underpowered here? How long will this take at this weak power level and how bored will I be?" If you're saying that the Twilight maps are worse about this then that's a huge turnoff.

The grinding and levelling in this game is way, way over the top. Worse than in any non multiplayer game or non-MMO that I've seen. Are all Warriors games like this?

Also, who are widely considered to be the best characters? With most of my characters around level 45, I find Link to be the best because of the Master Sword. Sheik is good at single-target damage, and I love Ruto and Midna for crowd damage though Ruto struggles with bosses. I cringe whenever I have to use Agatha or Zant, and I'm not sure how to use Darunia at all, but at least he hits hard and his basic combo is quite fun.

EDIT: Also, my main question: Are the scenarios different on the twilight map? Like, it's not just the same 5 or 6 from Adventure mode again, is it? If I never play a 'Kill 700 enemies while we throw tons of bosses at you' level again it'll be too soon.

There's quite a few new ones on the TP map. In fact so far only 3 missions I've had were the same/similar to missions from the other maps.

Defeat the disorderly faces lvl 1. Third stage (from right to left).

I did do that stage, but since there was no reason for me to replay it, I never noticed whether or not the character restriction was lifted. I'd check now, but I'm at work wishing I was at home playing.

Actually, what are people's favourite adventure mode scenarios? Is there a list of the basic templates?

Ones I love:
1. Where you're caught between two different armies who throw everything at your base.
2. Where you have to defeat 3 captains before taking on the boss.

Ones I hate:
1. Kill a bunch of bosses. Deathly dull because boss fights are a shitty waiting game for them to do something to make them vulnerable.
2. Kill 'X' hundred enemies. A frustrating race against time.

The quiz levels are disappointing, but at least they're short.

Holy shit at Twili Midna's moveset. Her X-move is like a special attack and the cannon is incredible. A lot of her attacks are so big.

New potions cost 150 to 200 materials it seems. Not really worth it unless it's a really difficult battle I suppose but even still...

I like those 2 as well. Escort the Bombchu and Defend the Keeps are also really good.

I really hope the new potions aren't required for the potion medal.

Meanwhile Dominion Rod Zelda is a puppet-character. Really cool how they're still making innovative movesets even for DLC, but not feeling this too much. All moves feel kind of the same.

WTF? :/
What are their effects?

Unless there are more to unlock (through skulltulas et al.): item power-up (100 bronze), ground breaker (150 bronze) and SP Replenishing (200 bronze). The second allows you to break enemy guards and the third to replenish SP constantly. Getting bronze materials goes pretty fast I suppose. Probably never going to use any of these personally, although ground breaker could be useful for strong enemies and item power-up maybe for Agitha and just spamming bombs? Not sure how strong bombs are but might be useful.

Looks like Link' amiibo will always give a spinner but not necessarily the same stats. Got this 5 star one today!

Meh. I was hoping for something that increases the chances of better/gold items. The Materials+ skill doesn't help much.

That's actually part of the update. Enemies that drop materials now have a (very high if my experience is any indication) of dropping two materials instead of one when you kill them.

Once you unlock your first spinner, can you find more spinners just by playing? Do they only come from Link (+other Amiibo once it's unlocked)?

2. Kill 'X' hundred enemies. A frustrating race against time.

All of them are enjoyable to some degree except for this one. Frustrating trying to get an A rank on this mission at all.

Also missions become crap as soon as manhandla stalks spawn everywhere and start racking up damage. Add to that a damage requirement for A rank and your allied base's general incompetence and it could be a failure on multiple fronts.

I'm liking the new missions and twists (finally, kinda different objectives) in the Twilight Princess pack. Also, that 8-bit inspired TP theme = <3

Yes, you can. Link sometimes gives other type of weapons too.

I'm loving this! Too bad it's only for the TP map and not for the previous ones or Legend mode :(

Things I still would like addressed/updated:
- Retry option in the menu
- Increase weapon storage to keep more than 10 of each type
- Skulltulas: don't make them disappear and for the second one, allow more than 4 hearts of damage.
- Fix the targeting: the closest enemy in sight first
- Lizalfos/Dinolfos/giant bosses: they take their sweet time to show the weakness bar. Not really fun.
- Decrease amount of rupees requirement for training/leveling-up (150 levels x 17 characters D: )

I'm missing a few more annoyances, but those are the ones on top of my head right now.

Thanks guys, I'm guessing you can scan Link on any Wii U?

I ask because one of my buddies picked up a Link Amiibo already, and I got one a couple of days ago too, mostly for the Spinner "DLC" (unopened as of yet). If I could conceivably borrow his Link to unlock the spinner, then I might head back and swap Link out for a different Amiibo.

Why would you not be able to scan it on any Wii U?

The game just wants to know
"is this Link?"
"yes" => give Spinner
