Hyrule Warriors |OT| Why are the enemies not doing anything?

6 and a half hours...yeesh.

I switched to a USB ethernet connection. Seems slower? I downloaded Mario Kart 8 in about an hour and a half over wifi.

EDIT: screen just flashed that I lost internet connection then it came back and I have less than an hour. =)

Kinda mad. Went to Target, saw the game on the shelf, they had four copies behind it. Asked a worker to get one for me and he was about to ring me up then another worker comes by and sees it and is like "Oh im sorry we cant sell this till tomorrow!" -.-

Even if he rang you up, it probably would have been blocked

If only, he told me I was the second person who came in to buy it today and asked me if it was any good, so that means he sold one earlier.

oh, well then yeah, that legit stinks. usually targets and walmarts have the games blocked on the register so they literally can't ring you up until the day, but sometimes they don't have those blocks set up.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Don't think I'll buy this just yet.

Don't want to have it compete with Smash, plus I want to get Samurai Warriors 4 this month and don't want to Musou out. Think I'll wait till Christmas since a good amount of DLC will be out.

Hey guys, can you stop downloading for a little bit? I need to redeem this Club Nintendo code for Kirby: Super Star

I'm not kidding

It's for the extremely limited NA LE Copy, only available at the Nintendo World Store and sold on a first come, first serve basis.

They're already selling on eBay for 300 bucks. There are suckers who are actually paying $300 bucks for it.

Finally, played around with the 8-bit Sword a little yesterday.

Not the North American bundle. That's the Japan Treasure Box Edition, that comes with more stuff. THe NA version is just the scarf, and only available in the one store. It hasn't even been sold yet. There are a few UK bundles on there, but no NA ones. As stated, they haven't even been sold yet.

Somebody helped and I got 50000 rupees and more experience on my next fight.
Thanks to the person that helped me :)

Just helped your second Network Link, seems like you're a regular on my map :D

Do you get a special message if someone helps your link?

also: added some more NNIDs, the Network Links really help out a lot, imho.

On the fence.

On the one hand it's zelda porn.
On the other it's fairly shallow.

Hmmm.

I was massively on the fence about it. However over the years I somehow turned my sister into a massive Zelda freak, she came home today with the LE which has the scarf (I am not a scarf wearer, being QLD Australia and all) butit seems to me the scarf is the size of a blanket nearly.

So yeh will be checking it out anyway.

I know almost nothing about the Dynasty Warriors series (musou?) but still, I imagine that people in here ain't gonna take to kindly to them words.

I find myself in the same place. I love just about every game in the Zelda series, but I've always operated under the assumption that I hate the Dynasty Warriors series. Granted, that lingering impression mostly comes from me briefly playing a couple games in the series back in the PS2 era and hating them, so it's a bit outdated, but still, it lingers.

I'm thinking about picking Hyrule Warriors up. Partially I want it because I love Zelda, partially I want it to see if I can view the Dynasty Warriors games in a new light. I've read the reviews, I've read about the tactical elements, the variations between characters (apparently greater than a typical Dynasty Warriors game?), the secrets and the fan service, but I'm still torn.

Clearly I'm in biased territory here. I would expect the majority of people in this thread to push me toward buying the game. Because of that, let me ask just one pointed question: how's the combat feedback? Does it feel good to mow down swaths of enemies? Like, real good. Are impacts palpable? Are there ragdolls? Is there that just-right amount of screen shake? Is there a sense of fluidity and momentum to your character's movement and attacks? Does the game do all the things the greats (think Diablo III) do to make it really, really satisfying to mow down hordes of enemies? In a game like this, something that's all about killing a whole lot of dudes, it really does come down to those little things for me. If the game feels great to play, I'll play the shit out of it. If it doesn't, I'll drop it almost instantly.

Any impressions?

I just finished downloading/installing (sheesh, 8 GB) and played through the opening level, the system promptly locked up when I beat Dodongo. Not off to a great start. It's a fun game so far though.

So, I didn't even realize this game was out in Australia before the US. I've been playing it for like a week.

My impressions - it's really, really good. I've definitely been quite addicted.

It's a cool celebration of the Zelda universe and characters (it's corny, but still fun), super polished gameplay, a massive amount of content that I feel I've barely scratched the surface on, and has awesome battles. It's literally overflowing with things to do and see.

To your specific question - it feels AMAZING to battle, mow down enemies and fluidly dispatch everything in your path. I've played maybe 20 hours, and I am still regularly saying "damn!" every time I see a new attack or power. It has continually upped the ante, and I haven't even played all of the characters yet because the game keeps giving me other stuff to try first. The grunt enemies are mostly groups to be mowed down and don't pose a threat, but there are plenty of other enemy types, awesome bosses, sweet set pieces. Yes, you will be mashing the buttons pretty much constantly, but the sheer amount of attacks, characters, levels and progression (weapon crafting, potions, items, badges) keep it plenty fresh. I don't find it shallow at all - that's like saying Diablo is shallow because all you do is click. That's right, and it's awesome.

I don't just recommend this game to you, I do so for everyone. It really is awesome, and I have no experience with musou outside of understanding what it is and general gameplay mechanics.

Solid 9/10 for me so far. I'm going to get back into it.

So I saw the threads title and just now looked at the Hyrule Warrior Nintendo direct, while watching for a few seconds the enemies are just standing there doing nothing. Is there a difficulty setting in this game and do the mobs still stand doing nothing?

You'll understand everything when you play the game.

The mobs will attack you on the highest difficulty setting, somewhat. But the point of the 'mobs' is (at least as I have come to understand it) to build up your meter to take out bosses and generals.

Normal mobs aren't very dangerous. Officers are.

Also, congratulations to those who where able to finally acquire the game :)

depends on the Warriors game and the difficulty, I havent played hard on this but on say Dynasty Warrrriors 8 Complete Edition on the highest difficulty basic enemy soldiers can absolutely slaughter you in seconds, especially the Archers.
