Hyrule Warriors |OT| Why are the enemies not doing anything?

Oh lol... I didn't know Club Nintendo gave you a code for a costume set if you registered HW!

Got the Demon Lord(?) costume, so his OoT I guess.

You get both his OOT and TP costume by doing so.

Weird though... his OOT costume seems to be in such poor quality compared to his HW and TP ones.

So any way to make lana's portal worth it? Any good combos?
Its a really fun weapon but after using it once I dont know if its really good in real battle, pretty slow and the attacks seems to do little damage (if course is still level 1)
One thing that I found strange but would make her weapon good is
once i summoned to gohmas that threw the laser eye through all the room at unison, same for mandhla. The best one though was summoning arghorok and lana jumping on it, and you could control it to throw fire
Sadly i only could do this once for each attack, and could never repeat as much as I tried pressing x multiple times after a combo.
Is it random? Becuase that would seriously suck.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I loved the ending leg of the story mode, Ganondorf is really damn fun.

especially seeing how terribly smash treats him.

RE: the previous page: Volga and Wizzro fit the world pretty wonderfully IMO. I actually thought Wizzro was from SS or something at first, since it is one of the few Zelda titles I haven't played, he seemed familiar for some reason.

Lana and Cia stick out sourly a little bit, but Lana has grown on me after a while. I found a bunch of things Cia did in the story made zero sense (
Not really actually doing anything with the assembled Triforce; sending Courage and Wisdom back to their keepers BEFORE owning Ganondorf with just Power, then vowing to assemble the whole thing again. WHY
, but who knows, I might change my mind about her character after her prologue DLC.

I'm hoping the prologue in the Master Quest pack can make me like Volga. He doesn't actually do anything in the game other than get his ass kicked.

Loving this game! It is my first Dynasty Warriors game.

If I can ask a favour for the talented folks on GAF: If anyone can make me an avatar of that awesome
Cel-shaded Toon Link from the Cia introduction in-game video,
I would greatly appreciate it. I love my current avatar and have been using it since before Kid Icarus Uprising launched, but that pic is just too awesome!

Yeah I questioned that too though me and my friend both thought she did that because she was in doubts if she could handle it. So it was better than just handing it over. I really ended up liking Cia. Really looking forward to her dlc.

Oh and I unlocked Zelda's baton last night and I suck at it. Any advice on how best to use it?

I just got Ganondorf and man he is just so awesome to play as.

I wish this game didn't come out so close to Smash Bros. It needs more of my undivided attention.

Not go much into it, she'd rather let them have it than letting Ganondorf have it is as simple as that. She wasn't going to play puppet to Ganon any longer. I was actually a bit amused that Ganondorf didn't have full control of the situation this time around.

That's upcoming costume DLC for her, depicting her prior to corruption. There's a similar outfit for Lana too.

Adventure Mode is starting to get hard.

I also did two Network Link quests today, I was level 20 in a level 50 stage. I had to fight 10 ice ghosts all at the same time, very intense! Took me 35 minutes, lol.

Came back to Hyrule Warriors tonight after spending the whole weekend with Smash Bros. Not only did I have to reacquaint myself with the controls, but I got to fight The Imprisoned for the first time. Boy, did that bring back some awful Skyward Sword memories. That thing was highly annoying in this game too, but fortunately didn't give me nearly as much trouble as it did a couple years ago.

50k clear bonus for a lv50 stage? I should grind them. It'll be easy with my lv99 Link.

Yeah, I understood that part. The odd part is the fact that
she successfully stalls / temporarily defeats Ganondorf literally seconds after releasing it (by throwing him into another portal) with just "power".

Maybe it was a diversion? He did seemed pretty gobsmacked afterward, haha.

I think I've already explained this in the thread before but I'll reiterate in more detail...
Basically, Lana's normal combos aren't really worth using outside of adding damage to a bosses's weakpoint along with your summon OR to get the enhanced summon.
The basic way to play Lana is to spam X, using dodge to cancel the animations. Which monster is summoned by C1 ( X ) is random but they're all pretty darn good as attacks in their own right.
Note that when you do an X summon the creature it randomly picked will appear below your health bar as an icon and Lana will get a glowing effect around her: if you can do the normal combo that summons the same creature as the one indicated by the icon before it disappears then you'll do an enhanced summon. These are the ones that let you ride Argorok and do triple Gohma spam and the like and as you no doubt already know, the Argorok enhanced summon lets you surf on the twilight dragon and is probably the most powerful attack in the game :p

I hope that helps.

That's what this game goes up to? Nice. Only level 53 so far.

THat's pretty helpful. Didn't know that. I wondered what that was about. Thanks for the tip.

As for bosses, I found that if you line Lana up in the front of the boss, then do the combo where she summons the 3 walls and pushes them, you can then follow up with additional attacks as they move through the boss. This is helpful because as they are moving, they are also attacking meaning you can get many more hits in.

Just to add to that. I've been making a few small tech videos to try and expand on this games combat. For example, Dashing with Lana . Her dashes allow her to perform combos that you can't do otherwise.

So I was doing it backwards! (Comboing the summon then trying to summon it with x)
Now it explains it all, thanks Geminosity!

That video is fantastic! I knew the first part, but not cancelling everysingle thing she does. Also good to know theres a better combo for bosses weakpoints, i always used the magic box

No worries: the more people who get to experience the full awesomeness of the portal, the better :3
Nice video too! :D Is leap-cancelling faster than sprinting?

You're welcome :D The game doesn't really explain it very well so it took a lil experimentation to get it. Also took me a while to realise you can do a lot of good damage and stay mobile with the X spam rather than using the Y combos when you don't have an enhanced summon you want (the enhanced Dodongo one takes ages and, while non-interruptible, leaves you wide open so I avoid it like the plague.)

Yeah, for her book, I use the 3 barriers on larger bosses myself but for humanoid opponents I just ride the cube ontop of them. Not sure which is more effective damage wise on the humanoids though: I just wanted an excuse to cube stuff :p

power bracelet

and you can just close the game if you used the wrong item. It won't save until you back out of adventure mode or finish a mission.

Thanks!

Yeah that's true but that's pretty tedious. It's usually obvious what item to use though, and the Japanese guide shows where to use it.

So how's everyone with the weapons so far? I have six (LVL 3) left to unlock, Zant seems like the easiest one of the one I have left, while Link's last weapon will seem like the hardest since I just take TOO much damage in that one due to the nature of the weapon.

I Fi's seems okay enough, only tried that stage once, but my Fi is level 30 as opposed to everyone else who is on their 45's so I will wait to grind Fi a bit before diving back into that one.

I still haven't even tried Lana's LVL 3 gate stage yet, but I doubt it'd be hard due to how much massive damage this weapon does.

Any tips on the Adventure Mode stage where Agitha must kill 600 enemies and get an A Rank to earn a piece of heart? It's on the west side of the map, and you'll face Zant, Gohma and others.

That moment when you've been doing a tough level for 30 minutes, got over 3500 KO's, is just about to deliver the final blow to the enemy captain and your allied base falls.

just Fairy lvl 3 left.. I was doing the tile on the right of it yesterday night but got sleepy. I'm gonna get those two tiles done then get the rest of the hard mode skulltulas.

depending on the map I think... for whatever reasons I got Agitha's lv3 weapon at 9k or so damage lol

I think all the titles in the top two rows have a higher damage cap

:(

Haven't had that happen yet, but at least you kept your experience points, right?

yes

that information is on the failure screen. just exp tho, materials and weapons pickups are gone.

do you know shitty it would be if you lost exp as well?

Thinking of buying this today. Is it worth it content wise? Also lol I wish there was a higher quality video of Lana being chased by cuccos. All of them look distorted even at 720p. Shoot would love to avatar that :p

About to get mines delivered tomorrow. From other people posting there seems to be a lot of content plus the dlc.
