I can't remember the name of this Movie/Cartoon/Song/etc.

These were two animated characters that represented a band. They had a music video shown on Disney a lot. I don't know if Disney made them or anything like that. I do remember I saw their album in Walmart one time. The music they played, as I remember it, is kind of pop rock. iirc, one of the members was a big guy and the other was small. They were both male.

I don't really have a timeframe, but it's probably late 90s/early 00s.

So, I was in American Apparel this weekend, listening to whatever music was playing over the PA -- which, from what I understand, is actually streamed from some AA employee's desktop? -- and heard this catchy song. I used Shazam to identify it, which spat back "R U In" by Kruse & Nurnberg.

http://www.last.fm/music/Kruse+%26+N%C3%BCrnberg/_/R+U+IN

Unfortunately, that's not the song I heard. :(

I *do* know that it was catchy, kind of dancey, but also a little sad. It had a laid back beat (not high energy dance), a female vocalist, and I remember the chorus lyrics being something like "[but i am] invisible." Yes, I realize what a long shot this is.

I'm guessing it's a recent/current song, so it strays a bit from the OT. Anyone know this one?

Whirring - The Joy Formidable

I just heard it on the radio and thought of your post.

Some years ago I saw a music video for some electronic music but it was about some (LARP-like) wizards in capes running through some dark forest.
Does anyone remember that?

That's all I got :(

I've got some songs I am trying to find if anyone could be of help.
They are electronic/dance/techno/something (not good with electronica genre names). It is in a bunch of parts, like how Justice has Planisphere pt 1, 2, 3, and 4. But this is at least 6 parts. I remember it being in multiple parts. Maybe 7 or 8?

For some reason I think of Justice whenever I try to think of this, but it's not them.
I know it's not much to go by, but I have tried searching for various artists with multiple part songs and can't find anything. The artist isn't a nobody I don't think.

Not really dance or Techno, but perhaps Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygene or Equinoxe?
Nope, this hit really hard. They were heavy songs. Though those are heavy in atmosphere. Listened to Oxygene pt 3 and liked it. So thanks! You may have just put me on something new.

The set up was that they panel over the armoured truck with plywood and logos to make it look like an ice-cream truck or something so they can drive it to the warehouse and blow the bloody doors off.

This one's been driving me crazy for years.

I checked it out from my library as a kid, sometime between 1988-1993 or so. Could have been published earlier of course. Graphic novel, somewhere around 200 pages probably.

From what I remember of the plot it was some sort of metaphysical fantasy story. The protagonist is male and has to venture into an underground cavern. Along the way he encounters various characters - the first is a somewhat cartoony worm or snake or lizard, the second is a monstrous worm/snake/lizard that attacks the protagonist from an underground river, the third is a more humanoid worm/snake/lizard that looks somewhat like the protagonist.

The comic ends with the protagonist arriving at a natural bridge over a huge abyss and the revelation that the three worm/snake/lizards have all been manifestations of the same entity, and that it's basically the protagonist's shadow self / doppelganger. The protagonist and worm/snake/lizard fall into the abyss together and kind of merge in a trippy metaphysical way.

I've spent countless hours trying to figure out what this could have been. The closest I've gotten seems to be Moebius and some of the other early Heavy Metal artists, but no dice yet. Anyone have any idea?

Ok, this is driving my nuts. It's a song from the early 80's, sung by a woman, possibly a blonde (but not sure). The video is in black and white set in a lounge bar or something.

The song is somewhat slow rythmed with some synthetizers but still sounding retro. The only lyrics I can remember is "I want to goooo..." * to Barbados (?)* My memory is too fuzzy.

Some old WWII espionage movie.
I think it was about Nazis inventing mind control pills or something.
Some ensemble team is sent to make it look like the drug really works.

In one of the tension filled scene, one of the member disguises as test subject making it look like the serum or pills worked by doing whatever the scientists commands him to do. Then the German officer gives him the gun and asks to shoot himself in the head. And he reluctantly does it but turns out the german officer emptied the bullets.

It could've been a MI episode but I saw it translated and it was about a movie length I think.

Alright, nobody is going to know this, but...

I was driving home and happened to be listening to 98.7 FM here in LA. (I usually just listen to my iPod.) There was a song, a very alternative rock-type song, and it was something about like, If we're at the bar, and you drink too much, something something, and then in the middle of the song it kind of changed style/tempo, and then near the end it went back to talking about if we're at the bar blahblah.

Yes, seriously, that's all I can give.

I've been trying to remember who's music video it was for a couple of years now. I've seen it only once and it was at least 8 years ago.

All I remember is a guy in a night club, enjoying the sweet life, girls, drinks and all that. Throughout the video he's slowly turning into the devil only to end up in the bathroom at the end of the video where he transforms into a goat. The End

I can't remember anything about the song at all. It's been bugging me for years and somehow I think it will all end up in a disappointment.

Can someone tell me about ths movie I remember seeing in the 80's where a mom takes her kids to see her mom(grandmother) and she lives in a fancy mansion. And it turns out the grandmother is very abusice to the mother. I don't remember what else happened.

Also, there's this tv educational show from the early 90's with super early CGI, what it was was about chemestry or something, it'd also have like cgi or cartoon monsters or characters.

GAF! What's the name of the film where they show two boys around the age of 12ish, one is a very nice, polite young guy, and the other is a trouble maker, they become friends somehow and the troublemaker absolutely beats the hell out of a group of guys older than them. I can go into more spoilery stuff if needed... idk, I'm thinking Son of Rambow/Boy A?

Just reposting some of my open cases...

All I really remember of the first one is that the movie opens with a young boy at a train station, and he is given a box. When he opens the box he finds that there is a small dragon inside. He goes to some big house (I think the setting was in England, but I could be wrong) and I think maybe there was a maid or something that hated the dragon, and it slowly grew over time. I'm pretty sure it was before the days of wide-spread CGI, so I'd imagine the dragon was accomplished with some sort of puppetry or something.

I remember going on a vacation with my family in the late 90s (Maybe very early 00s). We visited a museum and they had a 3D movie theater. This was before there were 3D movies in every theater, so it was cool to us kids. I remember my family tried to get tickets to a documentary about sea creatures or something. We accidentally ended up getting into a movie about some girl finding a shack in the woods, and finding these keys that would open it. I think a family member dies or something, but it's okay because she has this secret. I've googled around, but I couldn't find anything about it.

I seem to recall coming home one night as a kid to find a series of short cartoons on TV (I want to say NBC, but I'm not sure) They were kind of dark/disturbing. The only one I really remember is with this couple who were eggs (Like Humpty Dumpty). One of them goes driving a car on the side of a mountain and ends up crashing and cracking. I think it was in black and white as well.

I got one. It was a kid's movie, probably straight to video. I'd guess around '97/'98. The main character was a boy who was obsessed with these toys that this one company released, especially one that was like a multi-purpose camping tool. He ends up getting lost in the woods with a girl a couple years older than him. It turns out she's the daughter of the CEO of that toy company. She ends up showing him extra features on the camping tool.

And a new one. This one was a cartoon. It was a standalone feature, although I don't recall if it was feature-length. I watched it as a kid in the very early 90s, could be from a decade or two earlier. It was about mice or rats, and I think they lived in Paris or wanted to go to Paris, or something. It may have been some other city. Anyway, I recall one of the mice telling another that when they get there, they can get a job at a cheese factory, because the holes in swiss cheese are from where they let mice eat at it. I seem to recall the animation being crude, maybe even slideshow style.

Reposting mine too:

There's this movie (or TV show) where a guy had this pet carp or goldfish that was flopping out of its bowl and he was frantically trying to bust down the door of his house (or maybe it was a trailer) to save it.

There's this song that I just can't identify, and it's driving me crazy.
I heard it quite a few years ago now (perhaps 3-5 years ago) and I used to hear it on the radio pretty often. I'm not sure what genre it was, but it sounded like something between electronica and new age...maybe

There was a female singer, who had a very ethereal voice, perhaps a little deep-sounding. I cannot recall any of the lyrics at all. The lyrics were either very drawn out or hard to hear.

I've never used GarageBand before, but I tried to make something that resembles what I remember in a minute: here is my embarrassing attempt.

The first part would be where the woman's voice would be (perhaps slowed down more), while the 2nd part is some synth instrument (I don't remember how it sounds exactly) but it sort of resembled that melody. It would be repeated, and I'm sure it formed part of the chorus...

Any help would be appreciated since it's been haunting me for way too long.

I'm trying to remember this movie I saw as a kid in he early 90's, it might be older but this when I saw it. It was about a kid who got lost in the wilderness(it was winter iirc), and he is found when he is older and he is almost caveman like. I asked my older brother and he has no idea what I'm talking about.

It sounds a bit like An American Tail. However these are mice emigrating from Russia to America because they think there are no cats there.

Lionel Mandrake doesn't remember the titles of movies that involve kids.

Here's mine:

Some anime or possible he-man sort of animation. It had this dude that my very young self interpreted as native american but may have been asian. Either way he was dressed more like a tribal warrior than a modern person.

He had a diamond shaped shield he carried on his back that served some special purpose, and he would go to a tree that had some kind of portal where he talked to a ghostly/divine woman. Maybe he used the reflection in his shield to reveal this?

Before he would do battle he had two swords that he held over his head and connected at their hilts to make a new kind of weapon, and the blades would get some glowing green power or something. I think he rode a horse, too.

Hmmm... blonde with gold armor, no....
... the exact motions I remember with the weapon and glowing shit, yes...
...in space, no...
...riding a horse, yes...
...woman isn't in a tree, no...
...her headband and the glowy shield, yes...

I guess it has to be a yes, right? Especially since other childhood favs are SilverHawks and BraveStarr. I wonder what other memories it was combining with.

Flowers in the Attic?

I remember watching this foreign film one time, it was completely batshit insane. I believe it was from Asia, there was something that was causing the characters to hallucinate. This girl was imagining that the main character wanted her, she went over to him, started kissing and getting busy. Anyway, it eventually shows what was really happening, turns out, she is riding a tree. lol.

The guy is also hallucinating, I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but I do recall ping pong balls being shot out of a womans vagina. It was possibly the funniest movie I've seen, even though I think it was supposed to be a horror movie. I watched it about 8 years ago, at a guess. Any ideas?

I'm trying to remember a black & white war movie (I think WW2) I saw as a kid - all I can remember is that there was a lift shaft in it and it might have been in a castle or on the side of a mountain. Any ideas?

Edit: While I'm here there's another movie I saw on FilmFour years ago. I think it was mostly silent and set in Paris. About two strangers falling in love. Certainly not from the past 25 years.

There was a website where you could send sort of greeting to people, I use to use this all the time in like 1999-2000, they had one where a monkey would piss in the coffee and water cooler conversations.

Does anyone know what I am talking about and are they still around ?

Okay, this may have been a dream, it may be several things at once, but...

I remember this cartoon of sorts. The animation on it looked quite a bit like the Yellow Submarine movie. I seem to recall there being things that looked like the blue meanies and that other creature from the movie. But there was a huge field of thorns. Like, big thick blackberry bushes. And then a castle off in the distance. There may have been a picnic table in there somewhere too. I don't remember the plot, but I remember some anger in it, and maybe a clown. It scared me a bit as a kid, but like I said, it could've just been some messed up dream.

Nah, I don't think that's it either. It definitely had huge thorn bushes that I think left towards the end. And someone who was either angry or sad and when that went away, so did the thorns.

Huh.

Do you recall if it had any live action in it?

If so, it might be the BBC production of THE SNOW QUEEN.

I seem to recall that having thorns.

Hmm. Nope. No live action. Skimmed through the movie and didn't see anything. It looked like summertime in the one I remember. I probably don't have enough to go on. I remember that I used to know more about it, but that was years ago and I haven't thought about it in awhile.

There was this animated Easter movie I watched when I was little, from the late 80's early 90's maybe? It was about this boy who lived on a farm with farm animals that could talk and there was this Amish looking guy who was mean to everyone in town and he wore a suit made of metal. I think the boy or animals were given the gift to talk or some thing in the woods by some sort of angel or something. Any ideas?

It's been forever since I've seen it, but are you thinking of The Point or Phantom Tollbooth? I can't remember either of them well enough, but that fits the description of "Yellow Submarine"-ish.

You know, I think it might be "The Point". That seems a lot like it. But the animation still doesn't sit quite right with the memory. That seems the closest to me though.

Been awhile since I've seen it but that sorta sounds like Gandahar/Light Years. Which was also by the director of Fantastic Planet too.

So this is a tough one. Shown on HBO I believe in the late 70s early 80s and was an HBO Short Take. This specific one was about a woman whose drain gets clogged with some green slime that eventually sucks her into the sink eating her. This was years before the Blob remake. It had some kind of environmental angle showing the reservoir all polluted I believe. At the end of the short the camera goes outside
of the house and shows all the various water sources like bubblers and sprinklers and then shows a sprinkler stopping implying the slime has spread to the entire system.

Searching for this is a nightmare because of the Blob remake as well as another HBO short take Recorded Live about a blob like real of film.

quoting myself from 2010 and

this is just impossible to answer but i'm going to give it a shot anyway because it's been driving me crazy for maybe 20 years.

Song playing during the end credits of one Charlie Brown episode OR feature film.
Jazzy (not helpful, i know) i'd say allegro, rather fast but also melancholic / nostalgic.
Definitely not one of the more famous ones by Guaraldi, and i don't even know if that's by Vince or George Winston or someone else actually.

One thing i THINK i remember is the episode or feature film ends with Charlie Brown being somewhat happy because he learns some girl likes him.
In any case, it definitely has to do with Charlie's romantic side of life

I only heard it only once, must have been a teenager then...

Anyone ?

AND THERE IT IS !
2 years after my original post, which means 22 years since i first (and last) heard the song.

I found it and wanted to share with Gaffers who tried to help me:

Now though, i can't find this exact version anywhere

Sounds like The World, The Flesh, and the Devil starring the incredibly gorgeous Inger Stevens. (the pic in the promo below doesn't do her justice)

Just saw this for the first time a few months ago. A little ham handed with the race issue but holds up well and really gives a good feel for a vacant world.

No that's not it, it's an austrailian or new zealandian movie, from the 80's I believe.

The description does sound similar though.
