Oh, I see. I assume you tried booting with one RAM stick at the time. It's not easy trying to nail down a problem when you don't have the thing in front of you.

I've tried each stick of ram, ive tried it without the GPU and i ve took it all apart and put it back together again

I have a question for you guys. I tried buying a GTX 750TI and 4GB of RAM for my PC, but the shop clerk told me I'll also need a new power supply that's at least 550 Watts or more. Do I really need it?
and can I install the parts on my own? since I have never even removed the case on my PC.

You might do. Depends on what else you have in your PC and your existing PSU. Use PCPartPicker and spec up a PC that's as close to yours as possible plus the GPU and it'll give you a projected power draw.

To be honest, the 750Ti just sips power. Your vendor is probably trying to rip you off.

Just built a pc and ive put it together outside the case to test it works and when i switch it on the cpu fans and gpu fans spin up for a few seconds then switch off and keep repeating through that.

Try to CMOS reset you motherboard. It should be in the manual. Usually involves taking out the battery for a few minutes, and switching a jumper, then you put the battery back and jumper back to it's original position. This resets the bios.

This is not a save all solution, there is still something wrong with the system.

You battery could be dead, you power supply could not have enough power, your memory may be bad.

I guess that means the release is imminent.

ooooo...really excited to see their review. I have the Air 240 ordered from Amazon but it won't ship till next week and I have a couple weeks before building, so I might switch out.

hmmm, I think I'll buy one as long as it benefit me.

and for my previous question, can I install the parts on my own? is there's a chance I might break my PC?

Depends. What do you have now? The 750ti is such a low power card that some can run off of motherboard power alone.

I'm assuming it would be 1 monitor HDMI, 1 monitor DP, 1 monitor DVI-D into my GPU, correct? Also, how is it with the sort of slim bezels when gaming on all 3?
I use 2x DVI and 1x DP on a GTX 670.

To be frank, I haven't done surround gaming, it's mostly just for productivity, I just game on the center monitor. I think gaming with bezels would be a bit distracting. And for that many pixels, you'll probably need SLI.

A little question here. Apart from my video card need, I have some other things to take care of and this next one is the most urgent.
I have a wi-fi dead zone. In my bedroom. Yup. So I looked through my possible solutions and maybe it could be the one : Pack Netgear Wi-Fi XAVNB2001 (XAV2001 + XAVN2001).
http://www.materiel.net/prise-cpl/netgear-pack-cpl-wi-fi-xavnb2001-xav2001-xavn2001-60385.html

Page is in French but basically it's two power-line communication modules and one of them emits a wi-fi signal. What do you think about it ? Is it what I need ? Is this the model I need ?

Either way, they seem to be great for gaming / productivity / multitaksing, so I guess I can't go wrong with these. But if you did try Surround (assuming you had / have the GPU to support it) would it be a pretty decent setup for it?

Get low profile(LP) RAM. That RAM you have might not fit with your Hyper 212.

You will not be able to play all modern games at 1080p/60fps with max'd settings though, just to warn you. Which isn't a big deal whatsoever, but I don't want you to be disappointed when you get it.

Also, if you get the Western Digital Blue, you can save about $30. You can also save $30-40 by going with something like a 550W XFX PSU, too. Those savings could go into getting a 4GB 770 or even close to a 780. Up to you.

No performance drop with these, so get them. Otherwise that Hyper 212 isn't going to fit.

Since you're getting a 770 anyways, you might as well drop a bit more and get this instead. (Assuming your budget allows for it)

I'm 'concerned' about my temps. Currently my PC idles at about 40c, sometimes jumping up to 50c for no reason. I'm sure this wasn't the case last year, when it was around 30c. It's not super warm in England right now (currently about 20c, according to weather sites), and it's not super warm in my room either (just comfortable). Here's some photos I've just taken from inside my PC:

Now, I don't think cable management is an issue. I have 2 fans intaking from the front, and one exhausting to the back. The exhaust is maybe 4~5cm from the wall, so quite close but there's room for air to escape. I picture air coming in from the front, over the HDD, either passing the GPU (that idles at ~50c) or sucking up in to the fan, going through the CPU and then out the back.

My CPU is an i5-4670k, running at 4.2GHz with a vcore of 1.23v. Running Prime95 takes it to ~95c, but Aida only takes it to 65~70c.

Are these to be concerned with? I'm having no crashes, but I just wonder why the temps have gone up ~10c in a year. I doubt the LED strip is giving off that much heat, and I really don't want to remount the cooler with new thermal paste.

Fans and filters clean? Turn it off, hold the fans so they don't spin and use compressed air to clean them off.

Fans clean?

Relatively. Gave it a spritz of compressed air a couple of weeks ago. Front filter isn't horrendous, and even with it off the temps are roughly the same - hard to tell, as it goes between 37~42 quite happily for no reason.

Edit: I get the same temps even at stock (well, with Intel doing it's turbo boost to ~3.8Ghz but staying under 1.2v). I think it must be a thermal paste issue, as I've gone back in and used compressed air on all the fans again. As I said, it's not breaking the system, just annoying me.

Is there anything more I would need than the following (extra fans?) for a build. The best vendor in my country have a offer where they build the computer free of charge if at least on part is from MSI so i'm thinking of:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB GAMING
Motherboard: MSI H97M-E35
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 8GB
Storage: WD Green 1TB
Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini
Power Supply: FSP 650-80EGN, 650W, 80+ Gold (the cheapest Gold-certified PSU available)

Ohhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooo

I have almost no use for an air cooled mATX setup, but I won't be able to stop myself from buying this. So excite.
Is there any consensus on what is the best solution for NZXT Source 210 lack of dust filters?

Judging by the fact that your cooler is slightly crooked, I'd imagine this is a bad mount and it may not be tight enough.

OK, I'm confused - and a bit worried. I have the Hyper 212 Evo and Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM. Did I just get lucky that it fits on this particular motherboard? Did I assemble it wrong? It seems to run fine, and I'm fairly certain I could even fit another two sticks in there.
Or am I completely misunderstanding what you guys are referring to?

You must be incredibly lucky. 90% of the time, the 212 won't fit with anything but LP RAM or just ram that doesn't have the enormous plastic vents that the Vengeance sometimes comes with (Depending on Model). If you're confident that you could fit a RAM stick under that fan, give it a go. I'm curious to know if it could fit in the first slot.

I have done this setup in the past, with that monitors previous generation I did it with one Titan. I used 2x DVI and then a DVI -> DP adapter for the third monitor. Not sure what your GPU setup looks like but you'll need a lot of power to pull off that many pixels.

Seems that Nvidia is moving away from "NV Surround" and more towards 4k, so be aware of that.

Ah, I see. But you would say they're still pretty good 1080p monitors on their own, correct? (My GPU setup is going to be at least an 8/980, or whatever gen they're going with when it releases here soon) Also, could you do me a favor and link the DVI -> DP adapter you had? :)

Glad I could help.

Does that test not take SLI into account or something? I get ~10k with a single 290x.

Thats great, and kind of unexpected. Will still have a huge gap between that and the 780, but maybe the 800/900 series (whatever it is...) will solve that soon.

Yep. Loved those monitors.

I had the adapter backwards. It was a DP to DVI-D adapter

My monitors only had DVI inputs so I had to use that, and it has enough bandwidth to allow 120hz and 3D. Pricey but was pretty much my only option at the time for a NV Surround 120hz/3D setup.

It could be one of those freaky optical illusions due to the camera angle but that CoolerMaster heat sink looks waaaaaay off centre.

I'm really digging the Corsair 750D. It looks amazing, and the reviews seem to give it a lot of praise, but I figured I'd ask GAF if it's out of vogue, or if it's still considered good.
