I really like to see Final Fantasy VIII remade

I mean, Square can't handle making a game of FFVII's scale without making it into a multipart game series(so they claim) so I don't think VIII would fair any better.

Making remasters might just be for the best versus waiting ten years to get the full story in separate games.

Change the battle system and I'm down.

I can see it now ... in 8R Part 1 you'll spend 40 hours on Balamb Island exclusively. Balamb Garden will be 10x bigger, each section transformed into a giant maze to allow for fetch quests and monster hunting. The clinic will be turned into a full multi-story hospital, and there'll be a quest where you try to find Dr. Kadowaki's office but keep getting lost, all while Zell has gnarly hot dog poisoning. Balamb Town will be a metropolis, and your party will have to deal with rush hour gridlock in their rental car. Ifrit's cave will be a 10-hour quest, during which you traverse a vast NPC Bomb monster shanty-town, where Bombs hire you to backtrack to find their lost jewelry.

jk 7R is great in a lot of ways, but IMO the excessive padding isn't one of them. 8R could be great if SE restrain themselves, and actually take the time to build out the whole game world, and add more meaningful extra content instead of just speed bumps to slow you down.

FF8 is legit a bad game other than the music I hope zero time is wasted on such filth

FFV aka the BEST FF has been ignored long enough

Why are people doubting this? Honest question. I feel like if this game is a big success, why would they not look at doing more of these sure fire hits instead of rolling the dice with more 15s?
Because focusing only on developing remakes is short-sighted. People are still interested to see what Final Fantasy XVI will be like. That a new mainline entry might be slightly less profitable than a remake means nothing.

Give me five OP , I have been thinking the same thing . FF8R with similar battle system like FF7R will be amazing , imagine Squall gunblade trigger with exceed (Nero from DMC) system and an arrays of combo moves for Zell ?

Combine that with the materialization of the amazing settings like Balamb , Esthar , FH , Dollet , Deling , Galbadia , etc , and i'm having wet dream about it

I know it might not be a popular choice, but a remake of FF8 would be pretty awesome.

Imagine Balamb garden fully realized with todays graphics.

But not just Balamb garden, I really loved the landscape in FF8. We got Fishermans horizon, deling city, timber, Esthar etc.

I am also drooling of the thought having the brilliant FFVIII ost remixed in the same style as FF7R. I really enjoyed the updated tracks.

And screw episodic, give me the full game right away.

But considering that SE needs to finish FF7 first, I might not be alive to see a remake of this game.

This reminds me I should probably replay the game at some point since I remember literally nothing from it other than space witch :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I would be fine with this because I generally like FFVIII's world and characters. But only if they rethink its battle system!

Enemies that scale with you / Draw system / slow pace battles make FFVIII hard to like. If someone wants to defend its battle system to me, I'm open to it, but the other games do it so much better.

Would be interesting as the world map is semi available from the beginning.
But despite what the haters say, FFVIII is high up there only behind FFVII for a Remake.
And Square Enix has said that they'd like to do it
I just hope I ain't 50 by time it's made.

Seems like its really expensive and the other Final Fantasy's will need multiple parts too.
I doubt the other Final Fantasies have the selling power and such for Square to green light another remake for another multiple part Final Fantasy. That wont sell nowhere near Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

I mean I would love it, but can they afford to do it? Im all for it.
Seems like FF7R Part 2 and 3 etc will go on all next gen. Plus the other games Square are making.

Not until very recently I learned that many people dont like FFVIII. One of my all time favs.

I think it just depends on when people played, how old they were, how many other FF they played before that etc.

I love FFX. Some people love it others hate it, its just the way it goes.

They absolutely should, it's the best game in the series and one of my favorite games ever.

Fight me.

fF8 remake would be awesome too, you know, even though I clocker 50 hours in the FF7 remake, It felt alittle short... So I agree on the chapters part, I know making games take a long time, but c'mon.. its like 15%? of the original...
Now you know why it's episodic! Imagine if they remake the overworld. Well I don't know if they have already or not because I haven't played it yet. Thanks Amazon for canceling my pre-order!

FFVIII was the 2nd FF i played coming right after i had played FFVII and having extreme levels of hype for it. Bought it on day 1. Needless to say it was one of my biggest disappointments in gaming ever. It's one of the very few main FF games that i quited and never went back to it.

I'm playing 8 now for the first time and the game is legit weird. Like what kind of FF game doesn't want you to grind for levels or use magic? Drawing is both stupid and awesome at the same time. Like it's cool to discover and collect new spells and GFs, but having to do it a hundred times per spell sucks (thank god for 3x speed). Visually the remastered version is much more pleasing than FFVII. LOVE the music also. Story doesn't make any sense to me so far. Laguna is hilarious.

Just my random thoughts. When it comes to remakes, FF6 is obviously the next one they should do. Mos likely they're gonna go with X or some of the other more popular ones though.

Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite of the series followed by X. Would definitely buy into a Remake. Can't play the original anymore, it's just not aged well.

I am replaying it at the moment.
Remastered version.
The story is terrible and cheesy.
I hate stealing magic and GF.
It's a terrible idea.

Need to do something about the Draw magic system. I also hate that using your bound magic lowers your stats.... it is also extremely easy to become overpowered by the end of the first disk.

If Final Fantasy VII is Square's Rumors (where the series jumped from modest critical and commercial success to massive global phenomenon), then Final Fantasy VIII is its Tusk (coked up/batshit crazy overproduced follow up with some great tunes).

No they aren't. After seeing final fantasy and the boys in a shitty car i think most normal people had enough.
If you think Final Fantasy XVI won't have a different setting, characters, story etc. then you don't understand the series. Final Fantasy VI through XV were all unique and that's part of the appeal of seeing a new entry announced. You can dislike Final Fantasy XV if you want, that's fine, but it's beside the point.

Remove it's trash enemy scaling and needing to draw all day long and I MIGHT consider buying it for $4.
