Because focusing only on developing remakes is short-sighted. People are still interested to see what Final Fantasy XVI will be like. That a new mainline entry might be slightly less profitable than a remake means nothing. Why are people doubting this? Honest question. I feel like if this game is a big success, why would they not look at doing more of these sure fire hits instead of rolling the dice with more 15s?
FixedOnly if they kill Squall at the start.
I know it might not be a popular choice, but a remake of FF8 would be pretty awesome.
Imagine Balamb garden fully realized with todays graphics.
But not just Balamb garden, I really loved the landscape in FF8. We got Fishermans horizon, deling city, timber, Esthar etc.
I am also drooling of the thought having the brilliant FFVIII ost remixed in the same style as FF7R. I really enjoyed the updated tracks.
And screw episodic, give me the full game right away.
But considering that SE needs to finish FF7 first, I might not be alive to see a remake of this game.

Not until very recently I learned that many people dont like FFVIII. One of my all time favs.
Now you know why it's episodic! Imagine if they remake the overworld. Well I don't know if they have already or not because I haven't played it yet. Thanks Amazon for canceling my pre-order!fF8 remake would be awesome too, you know, even though I clocker 50 hours in the FF7 remake, It felt alittle short... So I agree on the chapters part, I know making games take a long time, but c'mon.. its like 15%? of the original...
FFVIII was the 2nd FF i played coming right after i had played FFVII and having extreme levels of hype for it. Bought it on day 1. Needless to say it was one of my biggest disappointments in gaming ever. It's one of the very few main FF games that i quited and never went back to it.I think it just depends on when people played, how old they were, how many other FF they played before that etc.
I love FFX. Some people love it others hate it, its just the way it goes.
No they aren't. After seeing final fantasy and the boys in a shitty car i think most normal people had enough.People are still interested to see what Final Fantasy XVI will be like.
If you think Final Fantasy XVI won't have a different setting, characters, story etc. then you don't understand the series. Final Fantasy VI through XV were all unique and that's part of the appeal of seeing a new entry announced. You can dislike Final Fantasy XV if you want, that's fine, but it's beside the point. No they aren't. After seeing final fantasy and the boys in a shitty car i think most normal people had enough.
