I THINK I have hemorrhoids

No. I had been pooping wrong for my entire life and my anus became lazy. That's how people develop roids, from making their assholes lazy and straining to push it out repeatedly.

They jam a device up your ass and guide you through, it's physical therapy. There's also posture, sitting up straight and not leaning forward. Lastly, the Indians have it right on washing their butts with water, toilet paper makes roids more likely to happen.
I tried your "suck it up first and then release" method but it's tricky 😆

Got those things like multiple times a year, i bike a lot and it creates them funny enough.

Also stop eating cheese bread and start to move more. In the evening eat some pasta or salad or whatever and throw some olive oil through it ( extra ) so it lubes you up really good.

Honestly u will get used towards it, don't even worry about it.

I know dude. My therapist took me through several sessions. The tricky part is you can't see and don't really know what's happening inside your anus so it almost ends up being a thing you learn by accident, or never do. Which is the point of the tension device they put up your anus as you do it, as it measures the squeeze so you're seeing a visual feedback on whether you're doing it right or not, and you improve week or week. It's like going to the gym and improving any muscles.

So yeah I feel you, after struggling for years with no answers in shitting blood every so often, the finally paying the money. Typically you'll get the "Eat more fibre, exercise and stop sitting down as much", but really the method to shitting is the core of the problem. Not that eating more fibre doesn't help etc, but it will only delay the issue, or sort of hide it.

Hard shit is what causes it, if you shit water u will never get it.

U get hard shit because u eat shit that makes hard shit / barely move.

It's not rocket science.

How does that therapy work? Does the therapist sit beside you while you take a dump?

Loosens your ass, makes you practice breathing and squeezing the device. The device has a small bluetooth device connected to it giving you a visual readout and a animated picture that progresses if you do it right and reverts if wrong. You are given a goal to achieve a consistent tension and full release a number of times. Your total time is recorded. Upon revisits your device is adjusted to require more tension to achieve the same result, so you're getting better each time. It takes a few sessions naturally because your asshole gets tired and you end up shaking.

I should say you just lay on your side. But they do have a toilet if you wanted to try that...

If the pain and swelling comes from the inside its hemohroids.
If the pain and swelling is on the outside its likely an anal thrombosis.

Here you go, OP. Low-fiber / "low-residue" diet is apparently what you want to follow for a little while:
