If you see Folder, beat his ass.

I don't see the next Gameboy, all I see is another GBA. I could have sworn we were promised the next generation Gameboy, more powerful than the DS.

So Folder said it would be a smaller version of the GBA? Interesting...
 
1) I seem to remember that he promised a new, very powerful Game Boy system...not a repackaging of an old one. I also seem to remember that people (especially Kobun Heat) were calling him out for making contradictory claims.

2) Folder didn't show to his OWN FUCKING PARTY last night, and left BuddyC with a $300+ bar tab.

So, I would predict that Folder won't be back here. MEGAT0N!
 
I believe he called it the nextg GBA which is exactly what it is, it is not however the "next gameboy.edit 2: it seems my memory serves me poorly

That's my memory too. Folder was adament about new GB hardware, not a repackaged GBA.

Spong did major backpedalling. They said that the GBA successor was going to be shown....but then they retracted that and changed it to "A new model of the Gameboy will be shown".

The DS was supposed to get all these PDA, art, and productivity apps....it was at the point where Spong was saying that Nintendo had actually licensed stuff from Palm. The only art/productivity thing they showed that was even remotely like that was Electroplankton, a game that's been known about for months and has already shipped in Japan.

Even that stupid "Leaked Microsoft E3 script" that they hyped up despite its completely non-informational content turned out to be phony. (Unless it was what played during the GSOD)

I still haven't got the whole story on what happened with the GAF meetup :lol
 
Ugh, Folder got it completely wrong. He waffled on about a Nintendo PSP-a-like being announced at E3 and DS being converted into a PDA. It was an analyst who first mentioned the possibility of a GBA SP2 at E3 and that guy still got it wrong since he expected it to fall in the $100 price-point rather than the lower end of the market.

And how about PDA software for DS? And I didn't see GB Evolution (or whatever the next GBA will be called). There will be no apologies. In fact, where are the other people here claiming to have TEH INSIDER INFO?
 
So let it never be said that Spong has changed their ways, cause clearly they haven't. Why even listen to Folder when we have Blimblim? Blim actually knows his shit and doesn't make stuff up just to get hits...and he provides us with lots of videos and new screens.

I think any thread that has a link to Spong in the first post should be locked, cause it's clearly about to start some trouble. :lol
 
What a big unfuckingsurprise. The site and Folder are total jokes and over here are a total laughing stock known only for one thing: LIES. Plus - $300 bar tab? OUCH.

This is really BuddyC's story to tell, but here's what I know.

I was supposed to go to the GAF meetup last night, but I ended up flaking out since a) I got out of work/the gym late and b) it's an hour drive from where I live to Hollywood in normal traffic. I talked to BuddyC around 10:30 PM, and he told me that Folder hadn't showed up yet. The deal was supposed to be that Nintendo was going to sponsor the get-together at the Cabo Cantina -- free drinks on a Nintendo credit card, or that Nintendo was going to reimburse Folder, or something like that. However, it ended up being BuddyC's credit card behind the counter. Fortunately, the people who went had cash to cover their drinks, but that is still total BS.

As far as I know, Folder NEVER showed up. It's one thing to have zero credibility about your "inside information," but pulling a bait-and-switch on promised free drinks is low, low, low.
 
Wow. i pretty much dismissed the whole Play Yan-equipped GBA deal, but the bar tab incident is just assholish. i hope Folder comes back to explain his side of the story. :)

Hang on, Folder's said here a few times that he's chummy with the Nintendo UK PR - I reckon he was thinking he could drag him along to pay for it. What a flake.

Interesting story on Folder. I've no doubt he is chummy with Nintendo PR as I used to see him at their press parties all the time back in the day, and I know he had good links with them.

Sucks for BuddyC though.

GAF is now the spanish village in RE4. The second Folder makes a post, someone's gonna point, yell out something in spanish and we're all going to attack at once. I'll bring the dynamite.

No offense everyone, but too many of you guys had way too much faith in Folder, to the point that any story that Spong released was treated as fact.

That being said, I have been bothered by Folder's action and attitudes in the past, but basically lying about having connection with Nintendo to foot a bar tab only to leave BuddyC high and dry is beyond fucked up. To the point that I personally want to rat this guy out and tell someone at Nintendo that they have some jack ass going around and misrepresenting them.

I'm not condoning Folders actions because I believe what happened to BuddyC was extremely fucked up, although luckily people had enough $$ on them to cover their drinks.

It's a shame we can't hear Folder's side/reasoning behing his actions as he's been banned.
