[IGN]: Astro Bot is the #1 Wishlisted Game During Summer Game Fest Period, Eclipsing Doom, Gears if War, and Perfect Dark.

With Astro Bot rescue mission Sony managed to capture the Nintendo magic already.

This is why I am not shocked the high praise this new game is getting. Mid 90s on MC is highly likely, and I am also not shocked at some people desbilief/suspicion about the praise and GOTY possibilities.

I don't think it's going to be a big seller (and Sony knows that) But one thing is for certain: In the so called "dry year"... PS keeps making arguments as a must have platform.
Playstation bundling every PS5 with Astros Playroom may very well make Astro Bot a big hit. I believe it will sell surprisingly well, I'd guess 5-6 mill within the first few months

How many first party games announced MS? How many Sony? How many consoles have sold Sony? How many MS?

Well there you have your answer for that differential, plus Astro bot looks dope!

Ironically even though the Xbox showcase was much better and I am looking forward to more games shown there, Astro Boy is my most anticipated.

She's just as bad ass and sexy as Samus Aran. That's awesome, for the rare time where women in recent video games are not weird and ugly alien

All I read in that guys post was its a sequel to a game that was aimed at kids

Do you honestly think that VR is aimed at kids? A 400 USD secondary hardware? For real?

No, that game was aimed at a minority of people with some money to spare. Another fact: that game was made by a petition of people impressed by The Playroom VR, a tech demo to show the potential of VR, the same as the PS5 demo game, but only 10 minutes long.

"All audiences" doesn't equal to "for kids". Pokemon and Harry Potter are prime examples.

Some of them are too damn high.

5 Assassin's Creed Shadows (Ubisoft)
7 South of Midnight (Xbox)
Wish listing doesn’t mean actual buys.

Astrobot will likely go out as the worst selling of the bunch but that doesn’t mean it can’t be the most fun title.

Dinosaurs are believed to have been eating rocks to help digestion, the AI is technically correct.
Oh birds (which are what's left of dinosaurs) do this to this to date. I just didn't realize we had evolved into dinosaurs.

Ask me about my Stream Deck
I don’t see the point in wishlisting games I have no interest in buying.
Maybe they get notifications when there are updates about the game?

I used to pre-order but then realized the money gets interest in my account until release day instead of getting interest in Herman’s Dutch bank account.

I only pre-order if there’s a discount now.
The US average savings account interest rate was 0.45% APY as of June 11, 2024. If you hold onto that $70 for two months, you gained $0.31.

All I read in that guys post was its a sequel to a game that was aimed at kids and was also a glorified tech demo.

sounds harsh but it kind of really is that. I will still buy it. but im not going to deny that.

and yet, those same dudes who took offense to his post would have no issue with people calling story based games "movie games" or "walking simulators". Look at how Hellblade 2 is mocked.
It is a sequel to a game that was on a device with recommendations that kids 12 and under not use it.

Some of you need to learn to have some fun in gaming again. This poop slinging back and forth about an IGN list (lol) is going too far. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

When South of Midnight, Perfect Dark and Fable are over there?

It will probably outsell Gears and easily outsell Fable and Perfect Dark.
I doubt it

Those are well known Xbox Exclusives with a history

But we'll see, of course I want the game to sell well

I just feel like these types of games get more hype on the internet, and it never translate to real life sales

I genuinely think all 3 of those would sell more because they are multi platform. Granted, all are on gamepass, so gamepass could just devour all of their sales.

Not really, I can see this argument working for DOOM (due to it being on PS5), but not for unexciting revivals, or new IPs with zero appeal, that are PC/Xbox Series-only.

Game pass will eat most of Xbox' sales, PC will have to do most of the leg work, Gears has a chance, the other two not one bit.

Gears has been on the decline for a while now. If anything, franchises like Gears, Halo, Perfect Dark, and Fable are dormant nostalgic trips that appeal to 30+ year old gamers. Not saying these upcoming games can't be great, but I think all of these franchises need a massive reboot, like GOW2018, for them to be a success. It's still up for debate whether these studios can accomplish that
