Why is Resident Evil Requiem returning to Raccoon City? How did the events of the Mansion Incident, involving the fall of STARS Bravo and Alpha Team, lead to the downfall and destruction of the Umbrella Corporation? What's up with Capcom's fascination of a specific North American mammal? All of this, and more, is answered in our Complete History of Resident Evil's Raccoon City.

From the full Raccoon City timeline, to the background of how Capcom named the tormented location, here's everything you need to know about Resident Evil's Raccoon City, and how RE1, RE2, RE3, and Outbreak, are all connected in our behind-the-scenes breakdown.

The subject is a bit confusing but the 1 hour Outbreak facts video is not from IGN, that's from an independent youtube creator who makes RE and other game videos called Ink Ribbon.

With RE9 on the way I'm taking this opportunity to refresh everyone on this amazing game. Whether you want to know about the lore or just want to fall asleep, here is one hour of Resident Evil Outbreak Facts!

A decent portion of it is still standing.

And will be (one of) the main areas in Requiem.

Eh, RE isn't that complicated. Evil pharmaceutical corporation causes biological outbreak and uses a bunch of created monsters to take out witness/survivors and bury the proof, follow a bunch of lone survivors as they try to survive and uncover the truth. Can't imagine you really need an hour since most of the details don't matter in this series and it forgets/ignores plot threads left and right.

If anything needs a faithful remake, it's outbreak. Yes raccoon city still stands because they went from a nuke to multiple missiles to barium calcite bomb and so it still partly stands apparently.

you know....imma just let this go because it is after all a video game....

Yeah. I get what you mean tho, lol. Capcom have been steadily retconning it themselves over the games.

OG RE3 was a straight up Nuke, you see all major landmarks like the RPD obliterate.
With the Outbreak games, they changed it to multiple missile strikes, not a single nuke or huge bomb.
With RE3 remake, it was now a experimental missile that has the effects of a nuke without the radiation.

Requiem seems to be following the remake timeline, cause the ruins of the RPD you see in the trailer is modeled after the remake ones, not the original.

For the first time in almost 30yrs I finished Chris's campaign in the original RE1 (1996) last night. I guess it's in preparation for this right?

There was a lack of Jill sandwiches.
