That set as an uncanny resemblance to The Walking Dead's hospital set in the first episode.

Airing it during the show Sunday would be the greatest idea ever.

the point is, that several of those places take a few days to ship if you used free shipping. So if it releases the same day the system launches, then most online orders wont be delivered till around 3 days after launch. If the game launches early then this isn't an issue.

I used the newegg promo, with free 3 day shipping. So I am glad that it is apparently releasing on the 13th.

Honestly, it's probably the smartest thing Ubisoft does, that is, if they decide to air it during Walking Dead. Such a perfect opportunity, yet I feel as if it's gonna go to waste.

Exactly. While costly, the commercial would be broadcasted to 10 million people on a Walking Dead episode (considering it also would be played during the rerun), with at least 6 million from the 18-49 demographic, all of which would have an interest in zombies.

It's a no brainer.
 
It makes so much sense there's no way it's actually gonna happen.

If it does, though, kudos to Ubisoft.

I hate that this is always a valid statement. I almost don't even expect it to happen due to it being absurdly obvious.

Can't blame this one on Nintendo. Ninja Gaiden has online Coop, and Call of Duty is online as well.

Though Nintendo did put NSMBU in front of Wreck-it-Ralph (which was uncharacteristic) so I still have hope.
 
Airing a live action commercial during The Walking Dead would be great and instantly have more people talking about it. Actually Ubisoft should be in contact with AMC. Out of all the Zombie games out there this is the closest to what the experience is like in The Walking Dead. The problem is that they have their own game coming out from Activision I think. Here's still hoping there can get an ad aired during that slot or near it. Dig into those pockets Nintendo and help out the game that actually sold me on the Wii U gamepad fully when it should have been you.

Yup. If a Zombi U ad were to play during The Walking Dead I could see WII U's flying off the shelves even stronger then they will be without a doubt.

I think it might actually be a problem with the engine. It's Ubisoft Montpellier, so I assume the game is running on LyN. LyN was never used for online multiplayer games as far as I'm aware, and looking at its history, probably not even designed for online multiplayer at all.

From memory, LyN is the successor to Jade. Just as Jade was designed and created for Beyond Good & Evil, LyN was designed for Beyond Good & Evil 2. Single player games. And even though LyN was initially designed for PS3, 360 and the next generation of consoles, it was never used in a HD production as far as I know. I believe it was downported at some point and became the de facto standard engine for Ubisoft's late high profile Wii titles (Red Steel 2, Rabbids Go Home).

It's a combination of several different things:

1) Great level design
2) Great lighting (better than any lighting I've seen on the PS3 or 360)
3) The camera movement and dirt on the camera
4) The atmosphere

The level design in particular is very impressive, easily on a par with the best we've seen from Valve and Retro who are imo the best in the business.

It's fantastic they really didn't go overboard with the dirt on the camera (though i wish we could have a choice of removing it) and the head bob as well, just right in my opinion.
 
I just like the fact that the areas seem "full" and genuine as opposed to just littered and overly cluttered. I'm not talking about the amount of detail, but how it's used. I mean, the areas seems like it's supposed to look like that. Shit isn't there just for the sake of being there and looking pretty.

Yeah, I've been really surprised that the grocery store and nursery looked like, well, a grocery store and a nursery. Obviously, London is already very maze-like, so it lends itself perfectly to this game style. I'm kind of impressed.

If someone had told me in the late 90s that Ubisoft were going to make a game that's more Resident Evil than the last 3 Resident Evils I'd have thought that an undead someone had been chewing on their brains.

It really saddens me that probably my all-time favourite franchise has gone so far downhill.

Oh not me. I don't have the skills or time to maintain one the way I feel they should be. I was just mainly wondering because I really do hope the game gets a good one and would hate for someone to just throw one together at the last second for it. Also I asked because I don't see anyone listed in that thread for it. It actually kind of shocked me.
