Illusory Revelations#FE (SMTxFE) - First Trailer, Winter 2015 [Up: Screenshots]

I just used gimp because I don't have photoshop and used the magic wand and eraser tools lol.

haha I didn't know there was stuff like that >_<

Just cut it out using paint. Should be easy enough :) Or are you wanting a transparent background as well?

Oh god, I forgot I could have just used paint lol

I love you

YAYYY! I'm "IT" free!

I said it before but I think that I quite like the direction they took with this making it a new IP that uses elements from both franchises with their own spin, totally in love with the idea that the "demons" are in fact enemies from the Fire Emblem series but still using spells from SMT...

I don't think I quite have liked a game like Project x Zone with SMT and FE characters =/

But a thing that I really found slightly funny is how Fire Emblem if has a SMT vibe from the name to the black/white and multiple paths thing =P

EDIT: 3 Kiria avatars in a row? Wow...

They also probably didn't really know what the game was going to be at that point, other than the fact that it would include SMT and FE elements.

An update in the Index/Atlus site at the time mentioned that it'd be an RPG. It is weird though that it was called "SMT" even in Japan during that initial announcement, considering how none of the spin off titles carry that name over there.

Its kind of like persona with it being team 3rd person turn based gameplay. Though they make the progression of turns clearer in this game with that turn bar on the screen to see who is going next and in what order. I'm guessing you'll be able to delay your enemies' turn and keep cycling back to your team's turn if you are able to knock the enemies down by hitting their weakness or something.
Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey had that. Sounds good. Is regular Persona turn based gameplay as well?

I just hope the game has a lot of content and a good battle system. As long as there is that I should be happy with it. Otherwise literally the only game Ill be owning on the WiiU is Xenoblade X. Outside from that and maybe Bayonetta 2 / Fatal Frame: Oracle of the Sodden Raven there is nothing else that I really give a shit about with the console gamewise. :D

W101 you monster!
And Captain Toad, you monster!

Hi-5, though I like it because Oribe looks more cocky without the glasses.

Well they are all "actors" so it would made sense for them to use sunglasses xD
Btw Persona, SMT or FE have costumes?

The later Persona games have costumes, SMT IV has visible armour, I don't think any other games have costumes.

It's been almost a month since any post was made here. Hopefully doing so is alright.

Anyway, I just wanted to bring up the fact that GameXplain recently posted a second analysis of the most recent trailer where some users managed to point out a few details which were missed during their original analysis, as well as featuring some clarification and speculation. You can watch it here. The biggest takeaway to me is that there are some more references to both the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei franchises which have been pointed out, but it's clear that the game is taking these elements and using them in a unique setting.

Awesome! Thanks for bringing this up. I'll be sure to watch it when I get home.

Wow. Just watching that second video really makes even more hyped for this game here.^_^

It seems the cult of Gaia and of course the follower of Millenium Kingdom is still in the game. Wonder who will side with who here this time.^_^ And of course who will be the other two orb owner this time as we already had 3 color.^_^

I'm guessing one of them will be the archer featured in the trailer, which was also speculated by GameXplain. This finding, assuming it is true, would mean that there are at least five party members in the game if we discount the possibility of guest party members or the possibility of party members beyond the "five color gems" theory.

waiT, that last video is incredible... hopefully this show that the game is truly a blend of the two franchises littered with tiny little details that reference the origins of the franchises.

Can't wait tbh, I neve played an Idol game!
=P

Never played persona or SMT.
I have played a little fire emblem but don't like the strategy battle system.

Do you think I will like this game? Because the trailer looks quite cool.

If this turns out to be a straight up Persona game with FE influences... I couldn't be happier! But hopefully there'll be something to differentiate it, which I assume there must be. I love the blend of visual novel and classic party-based rpg.

It's hard to say really, since there are still many, many unknowns regarding this game. Based on the trailer, though, it doesn't appear to have SRPG elements which Fire Emblem is known for, but it does look to have incorporated its classic weapon triangle in some form. You'll just have to wait for more information and see if it aligns with your tastes.

How would we possibly know? Do you like turn-based rpgs like Final Fantasy or Pokemon? Then there's a chance.

Thanks for the info. I know it isn't out yet (and barely any info), but I thought that people may be familiar enough with the different series to know what kind of style it might lean towards.
Will be keeping an eye out at E3!

It's hard to say for certain, I do appreciate their work though as it gives me something to hope for. I hope they'll clear some more things up at E3.

New staff post by the Director (Mitsuru Hirata?). It's mostly him talking about his experience with Fire Emblem as a series. He does mention how surprised even he is with the form that the collaboration has taken on.

Image is supposed to show off improved floor textures and object numbers in this environment compared to the April reveal trailer.

Original to compare.

Not really 1/1 due to the different angles and size but it should give us an idea.

Ah, ok, so there's a fair amount of new foilage and rocks, a new bridge by the corner of the building, hanging paper lanterns to the right and alpha textures (am I using this right?) on the rock paths.
