but i've got major problems with all major religions. They have been hijacked by semi-interested parties looking to advance their own power over centuries and now they are all FUBARed

Most (all) states based on one of those religions preach hate of another religion or persecute followers of other religions or fail miserably to follow some of the basic tenents of the religion they are based on.

Do not get me started on fundamentalists of any faith.


Any muslims out there some questions for clarification.

Are women really mean't to be locked up and totally restricted like in Saudi Arabia?

IS there to much cultural stuff taken as law?. DRess for example. covering your whole body in the hot humid climate i live in would be suicidal, seroiusly.

DO u think islam is having problems modernising? I saw a Pakistani islamic academic say it was having huge trouble with the modern world.

Obviously, it was done to build animosity towards Muslims...but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if Muslims tried misinterpreting the Quran in the very same manner to teach kids animosity towards Jews.

Funny how the extremists can find ways to divide humanity like this...and it's the innocent people the feel the destructive elements of these radical peoples on both sides.

The say I see there is a worldwide problem with the integration of Islam with the World's cultures. Ideally it's supposed to replace many cultural traditions, but you are seeing many things being done by Muslims that contradict the faith, but are accepted in those parts of the World. Poor treatment of women is a good example. The same with female circumcision (sp). Terrorism, obviously. Those are the forefront examples.

I see this happening with all faiths, and the funny thing is that this issue seems to plague the Abrahamic faiths (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam).

Agree for the most part. Organized religions have been hijacked. Whenever u get sects, u have problems. And all the major relgions have sects. They start basing their beliefs on their own writings and books instead of the original scripture(s). For example in Islam its the hadith books. Quran itself prohibits the people from breaking into sects and following other writings besides those sent by God, but nevertheless, Muslim sectarians do it. If the Quran alone is followed, you get a very rich,universal, and personal religion absent of rituals and dogmas. But this is probably going to get ugly with GA muslims attacking me. So I'll stop here

Is isn't only extremists that like to divide humanity, I would have said that is a fundamental human flaw. We don't just stop at divisions based on religion, we also have divisions based on nationality and race. I am sure we will come up with some other way to divide people in the future too, judging from this board maybe console loyalties will be the next big division. I can already see the internment camps for Nintendo and Xbox fans.
