Yessir, Keighley's stream over E3's corpse is this Friday and Xbox's showcase + CoD Direct is Sunday. Ubisoft has their annual rabbits fiesta on Monday.

Ubisoft have done some unintentionally hilarious stuff sometimes. I remember once when they did some band dancing/singing thing. It was awful and totally out of place, but made me laugh all the more. I hope its wacky.

It's not about being better than it, but I'll take the following games collectively over just 1

Demons Souls
Miles Morales
Returnal
Ratchet
Kena
Sifu
Stray
Horizon FW
God of War Ragnarok
Final Fantasy XVI
Spider-Man 2
Helldivers 2
Final fantasy 7 Rebirth
Stellar Blade

Over the collective ps4 lineup three years in.

PS5's early Gen lineup is only rivaled by PS2
Facts. Early PS5 is objectively better than early PS4.

Xbox gracefully bowing out will certainly help the industry (PlayStation and Nintendo) thrive.
It would help a newcomer to come in once Xbox made room by exiting. But since this is overdue and should have happened 5 years ago, i don't praise Xbox for it.

If only they had bailed out earlier, maybe they could have had someone else make a new Killer Instinct. A company that isn't even interested in making games, doesn't get to claim they saved it.

3) Helping fund more experimental and bizarre niche content while the rest of the industry is going more mainstream
You guys truly have no shame.

And the worst part is that after years of presenting this as some "unlike Sony!" thing, you now have Astro Bot being the most pushed H2 game by SIE.

There is no way Xbox is saving gaming, it's not even the first thing saving gaming a historic hobby that has people lining up for PS5, steam following the lead of Nintendo with the deck and now we're getting intimate with "pro" consoles.

Imagine you're this guys ancestor, broke your back….gave everything to give your family a bright future, and the fruit of your labor is some guy seemingly in his 30s or approaching them, filming in his bathroom talking about how PlayStation stinks and Xbox rules.

No I don't think they're saving gaming. Gaming will exist no matter what, even with a full blown AAA industry collapse.

But I do think they consistently have been more interesting this gen in a number of areas, and I've pointed this out for 3 years now. 1) Helping to keep the E3 season culture alive with great showcases multiple times a year, but always every June. 2) Helping give consumers cheaper ways to play games while everything else is getting more expensive (GP, Series S), 3) Helping fund more experimental and bizarre niche content while the rest of the industry is going more mainstream, 4) Helping lead the way in BC efforts for consumers and dual entitlement on PC, 5) now potentially helping to lead the way on exposing more people to open store ecosystems. That's not saving gaming, but it's a whole lot of stuff I've been into for years.

About half way through the video I do agree with one of his more hot take points - there is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that he is right about this phenomenon we're seeing regarding PS fans "garnering victory off of the corporates victory." I mean, this is getting into hardcore console war territory but I genuinely do agree with him here.

I think a lot of PS fans are actually deeply unhappy and unsatisfied, and they fill that void with threads hyping up sales numbers and profits instead of gamer / consumer-centric things they genuinely love. Just something I've thought for years now privately, but never really wanted to bring up. It's a big generalization so yeah, but I've noticed this big shift and I think it's due to the PS management culture change. The "fun" of being part of the PS community was entirely removed with shows, communication, the types of games they put out. It's all very serious now, and filled with a money first type of conversation.

Don't get me wrong, money and sales matter. I just see it showcased now to a really lopsided degree compared to previous generations.

Xbox events are always great because Xbox still does it the old way where they show you stuff that might not even be in development yet. Unfortunately no matter how great their events are they still can't seem to deliver a steady cadence of quality games and that's really all that matters.
Yeah I remember e3 2022 was it where they said everything shown will be out in the next 12 months. Turns out only Redfall made the date.

This started as a joke thread.......I thought.

According to Miku AstroBot looks generic and disappointing while HB2 is a 10/10 GOTY…

I actually have Punished Miku ranked higher than Adamsapple in my fanboy tier list.

If u watch demon slayer, AdamsApple is Upper rank 2 demon, Punished Miku is Upper Rank 1 and Senjutsu Sage is Kibutsuji Muzan.
