Is this just an Indian-Indian thing? My experience with British-Indians, Australian-Indians and Fijian-Indians has painted a much different picture regarding their attitude to women.

Yeah, most of the Australian-Indian dudes I know are respectful, well-spoken and baller as fuck. Seems to be an issue from actual Indian citizens.

Yes, and it's fairly obvious why. Your upper-middle class to upper class, educated Indians in metro cities or abroad are exposed to western culture or values, while the undereducated masses (especially sexually) have access to the internet and a lot of time but not the cultural exposure or sexual knowledge to communicate their thoughts respectfully. Hence you get the thirsty 'common Indian man' making internet aliases that are just firstnamelastname asking for sex to random girls online. For eg: I browsed a couple of livecam shows in the USA and the most commonly banned users were guys using their real names as their handles saying shit like 'bby nice boobs gimme sex' and shit

As thirsty as anywhere else, except their thirsts aren't being quenched because of society's regressive views towards sex and courtship and porn being a taboo subject. It's like being parched in a desert. Repressed urges show up in strange ways. For example, I've read that in Saudi, where men and women aren't allowed to mingle before marriage, an increasing number of youth are turning homosexual, despite it being dangerous in their conservative society.

One hypothesis I've seen for why guys do this is that you have these men from more rural and socially conservative parts of the country. They get exposed through new technology to more cosmopolitan areas, or Western culture, and see all these women dressed less conservatively or more able to freely interact with men, and they assume that the women are therefore easy and having sex with guys on demand.

These lines they then come out with is like their interpretation of how they think people flirt, through their prism of inexperience, outdated attitudes to women, and a misconception of how people outside their world interact.

I mean, this is coming from mostly undereducated or rural dudes, who's segment of the population favors boys over girls. So, really in a population where women considered your equals or lower are not 1:1 with the amount of dudes, you get this.
