Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Literally posted the same thread seconds apart lol.

Full raytracing really seems taxing on this game, they demand nothing less than a 4000-series card.

Also 32gb ram recommended is a bit heavier than expected.

Kinda disappointed. Microsoft titles usually have great optimization but seeing a 4080 no RT and FG just tells me to wait it out, already playing Stalker and Teardown anyway

Was about to talk shit about how nobody actually states what Minimum, Recommended, and Ultra even means but I see they put it in tiny text at the bottom which is better then vague bullshit like most games put out.
It's kind of weird, they have 2 sets of low recommended and ultra specs, but some of them are kinda odd.

What does low graphical settings with full raytracing look like exactly? (3rd column from the right).

So AMD cards can’t even turn ray tracing on?

They can't do full raytracing (I assume this means path?), but the ultra tier on the non-full raytracing set (3rd column from the left) has raytracing required and lists a 7900xt.

These specs are kinda weird tbh.

In a perfect world we'd expect games requiring a 4090 to be truly spectacular and groundbreaking and... not needing crutches to simply walk.

it's important to note that the minimum requirement targets 1080p 60fps

most games these days list their minimum specs as 1080p 30fps or even 1080p with DLSS.

this is native 1080p 60fps. and for that, a minimum requirement of an RTX 2060 seems like a decently optimised game

Also, 3080 Ti equivalent to a 7700 XT? Don’t think so. 4080 equivalent to a 7900 XT is less outlandish, but the 4080 is usually significantly faster.

Keep in mind guys that Doom the dark ages next year will probably have similar specs.

As I said in the other thread. Id Tech 7 which ran really well on potatoes last time, so this is a bit of an eye opener.

Guess Machine Games must have done some customisation to bring it to it's knees. I'd expect ID to do a better job next year

I just upgraded from a 10700k to a 9800X3D... interesting to see my old cpu being the minimum.

Graphics tech has continued to gain pace but chip technology didn't.

That's why we have to resort to things like AI upscalers frame gen etc.

I also wonder how the series S is gonna run this game, it's probably lower than the min spec.

Series X/PS5 will probably be somewhere between min and recommended specs though.

we don't know what the low preset looks like. if the low preset looks comparable to the high preset in Doom Eternal, then I'd say 1080p 60fps on a 2060S sounds absolutely fine.

people need to realise that the RTX2060 Super is a 5 year old refresh of a 6 year old architecture.

and this isn't taking DLSS into account. with DLSS I bet all RTX cards will run this at 60fps no problem.

So is it gonna be another AW2 situation or are these specs rerally neeeded to get a decent performance?
Seems brutally heavy.

Seems brutally heavy.

read the bottom bracket on each column.

the recommended column is WITH Raytracing enabled. if you disable Raytracing you'll get a lot of performance back on lower end cards.

it's also native 1440p at 60fps.
so enable DLSS and you'll also again gain a ton of performance back.

Holy shit, can you say unoptimized even by PC standards??
I would say half-way.

The regular RT seems ok, good even, since they are for native at 60fps (not sure what is going on with their weird CPU recommendations, we can probably ignore those since i doubt its any accurate)
Full RT seems brutal, probably coming in way too hot, before being ready to be played (they didnt even have it working for the recent previews if i remember correctly)

Looks like I'm fine for that recco spec with low RT. This pc seems like it will get me at least a year into ps6 cross-gen. Not bad!

So the min requirements are almost the base consoles holy sheeit.

Also Path Tracing surely is expensive, not even the highest AMD card can run it, next-gen GPU's are coming just in time
