I always watch films and stuff related to any game I'm playing. Adds to the escapism for me. Even if its just genre or time period related.

People are still console warring the game despite it coming to PS5 and the Pro version likely being the best version of it.
Yep, though I wouldn’t bet on the Pro version being the best specially when it comes to PSSR.

Anyways it’s fun reading some salty posts after realizing it’s a great Indy game, those hoping for the worst might be eating crow by now

I don't like aesthetics, but it's a me problem. I don't even like the movies. Or Ford.

Otherwise sounds exactly like what GAF wanted, no? I remember people complaining that they want tough puzzles, no open world, etc.

Consoles only. I'll happily make that bet.

There's a pretty big gulf between hoping for the worst and expecting the worst, and I think most people fall into the latter. It's not exactly like MS has had a stellar track record this generation of delivering anything worth a damn.

This game won't even run decently on my PC, but I was rooting for MachineGames to pull it off, since they're an earnest 'gamer's games' focused dev team. I'm happy they delivered and the quality is recognized, even with the fanboy and DEI bias.

With the game going out of its way to tell you that she is smarter and better than Nathan in every way.
So..... raising your kids to be be better than yourself is no longer something we aspire to as a species ???? ......

Feels like a bit of a weird take to me.....

It isn't a 9. Indy has a metacritic of 87 which is the same rating as Halo Infinite and Hi Fi Rush (before a port was even announced).

Sounds to me like Indy is just a great game in its own right, regardless of PlayStation.

Best thing MS ever did was announce it for PlayStation right away to avoid most of the Xbox tax, even though it still suffered some of it.

Just played 3 hours of it, up to the point where you meet Antonio at the Vatican.
Possibly the most atmospheric game i have played n years, and is a must if you are a fan of the orig trilogy.

Also runs fantastic with literally zero stuttering. 1440p (DLSS on Quality as it looks better than native res imo), mix of high/ultra settings, locked 60fps on a 3700x/RTX 3070 PC, could even probably push 1620p res as gpu usage is in the 50-80% range. Fuck knows what was going on with those PC requirements but the game is reasonably light, even with RT always on.

Oh and if you have ocd like me and have to explore every little nook and cranny of every area, well there is a lot to explore, and a lot to find.

Metacritic 87
Open critic 87
Steam 92%

And I haven’t seen so many mentions of GOTY on twitter for a Microsoft game in decades. Just too bad that Geoff don’t use a regular calendar and think the year ends in Nov.

I didn't realize it was leaning towards adventure with puzzles. I'm more interested than ever. Maybe this can be the next robocop? Loved that game.

Bruh….Indy is looking good but you VASTLY underestimate the pro if you don’t think it beats the other consoles so so easily. There is a lot of FUD about the pro but damnit, it’s just a ps5 with a way better gpu. Yall are drinking the cool aid if you think early pssr issues on like 2 games means that it’s not blowing the base ps5 away in all the other patched games and the troubled pssr games too. Had one since launch. Currently playing SH2. Legend.

let it go GIF

I can see it surpassing robocop as a videogame, for sure. Robocop for me was a nostalgia bomb that actually worked. Me and my wife loved it!

The game is apparently up there with some of the greatest movie licensed games ever ....ie Goldeneye , Guardians of the Galaxy etc...but is it on par with the Fate of Atlantis is up for debate.....

This looks like a classic normal game. It doesn't look entirely enticing but it is something up my alley.
And it's old (barely) starbreeze, so cmon. Riddick is one of my favs.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

This is, pretty easily, the best looking game on Id Tech right now.

Fantastic work from Machine Games, even on Series S going by DF.

Big zones, flawless performance with RTGI. Metro has been dethroned as the go-to console RTGI 60fps example.
