Man, that's fucking ass to have normal edition release on MONDAY and you only get to play over the weekend with premium edition.
Man gaming fucking sucks doesn't it

This is what I said in the other threads. These kind of schemes typically happen when they know day 1 FOMO will hit hard. They know they have a good game in their hands. Peoples were like "OMG, review embargo just a day before launch (confusing with early access), the game's in trouble!", couldn't help but think that the early access FOMO scheme doesn't work if the game sucks..

This is, pretty easily, the best looking game on Id Tech right now.

Fantastic work from Machine Games, even on Series S going by DF.

Big zones, flawless performance with RTGI. Metro has been dethroned as the go-to console RTGI 60fps example.
I've seen Soulsborne fans saying that it has XBOX 360-era graphics...

I mean, have they even played Uncharted 2-3?

This game has way better graphics than Elden Ring.

I guess some people are biased against arcadey, non-RPG style games.

Based on some gameplay, it doens't look as good as uncharted 4.
But obviously I've not played it yet.
Gotta dust off the poor 3080 for monday lol

Well ill be damned , i thought it looked underwhelming from the first trailer and had low expectations but this is a pleasant surprise indeed. Good to see xbox finally have some good first party games we need competition. Lord I miss the ps3/360 days.

Just played 3 hours of it, up to the point where you meet Antonio at the Vatican.
Possibly the most atmospheric game i have played n years, and is a must if you are a fan of the orig trilogy.

Also runs fantastic with literally zero stuttering. 1440p (DLSS on Quality as it looks better than native res imo), mix of high/ultra settings, locked 60fps on a 3700x/RTX 3070 PC, could even probably push 1620p res as gpu usage is in the 50-80% range. Fuck knows what was going on with those PC requirements but the game is reasonably light, even with RT always on.

Oh and if you have ocd like me and have to explore every little nook and cranny of every area, well there is a lot to explore, and a lot to find.
Ya while I liked it a little less than most it seems, it seems to be hitting incredibly well for people. Very happy its liked!

I wonder why some peole on here even game anymore. Why don't you just stop if you hate everything.
Good or bad, console warring has become part of "gaming" culture. When and if people become neutral or they grow up, they either don't play games anymore or likely don't post as often on forums. Two forums I use to post at basically died when people weren't "warring". With the first, people stopped caring about the console war so they left. The second one also kinda died (not because people left necessarily) but the forum owner experimented with a feature during sign up where people would select the consoles they owned and based on what they selected, they only got access to forums for those consoles. He removed that feature fairly quickly.

U guys never learn, getting excited about paid off professional journos giving game good scores, many reviewers said game is ok/decent and didnt even give it high score either, imagine what will happen once independed ppl can review the game, in few days ;)
One of the few(ACG aka Karak) that didnt break our trust till now, said game is good enough for renting service, tells u enough to know those 85+meta is crazy inflated and underserved.
"break our trust til now?"
Christ what are you guys making up as a conspiracy theory now? lol

Yeah I hate that I’m sitting here considering buying the Advanced Access version. They really planned this in the worst way. Pay $100 and play now or get it free through Gamepass and basically wait until next weekend.

Don't mind him, he's been indulging in the kool-aid for a while.....

So far i can tell u for some unknown reason xbox console exclusives have visibly inflated scores, i would say at least one if not 2 points on avg
using only current gen:
https://www.metacritic.com/game/forza-motorsport/ 84 review, 7.0 userscore
https://www.metacritic.com/game/starfield/ 83 review, 6.8 userscore
https://www.metacritic.com/game/senuas-saga-hellblade-ii/ 80 review, 7.4userscore
https://www.metacritic.com/game/halo-infinite/ 87 review, 7.8 userscore
https://www.metacritic.com/game/redfall/ 56review, 3.5 userscore
If one or two had just a bit inflated scores it could pass as an accident but all 5? And we talking current gen here.

So yup, im not surprised ppl look at those and deduct 2 points(in 10 scale, in 100 its 20 points)
Even terrible redfall got to 56 metascore from reviews, which should tell u enough of how strong the bias is there.

I'm able to play early because I bought the code for the Premium version from someone that got the game bundled with their 40xx series GeForce card. $35.

Well worth it for me. I get to play early, I get the DLC when it releases, and I actually own the game (vs Game Pass).

Guys, why are you playing it, is it worth watching the movies again before playing it?
Hard to tell, I’ve been rewatching the trilogy once in four/five years for a loooong time so I have every shot, every line engraved in my brain but a rewatch could pitentially boost your enthusiasm for the game.

The advanced early access head start for a single player title, like Outlaws is complete and utter mind games abusive money pinching greedy gaming bullshit. I can understand when it happens in online games or MMO's, but not single player. Even movies that have early premieres, have normal ticket prices. We as gamers have let this happen because we keep paying for it, well some of us do. This is going to become the norm to get every penny they can. Is there really going to be a day 1( actually day 3 or 4) patch on normal release? that makes it even worse.

Why isn't anyone calling out this bullshit practise? where are the gaming journalists calling this out? oh that's right they didn't have to pay for the game.

If we were paying more for just early access, I'd agree with you. But the fact this this includes future paid story DLC (and some cosmetics but who gives a shit about that) makes it an easier pill to swallow IMO.

This is an RTGI game, so let's hope they don't decide to use PSSR for up-scaling.

We don't want another Silent Hill 2.

That would probably be for the best. It's already a pretty well performant game with great IQ per DF.

All the poor PS5 Pro patches seem to stem from a combination of effects but most importantly really low resolution.

I'm actually amazed at how well Indy runs in comparison using RTGI, 1800P, and 60 fps. They did a really great job on the engine especially compared to bigger studios like EA, etc.

I think it will have a great Pro patch similar to TLOU or Callisto in terms of clarity, just not sure if they'll use PSSR or not.

They really don't need to, and I also don't think they will.

None of the XGS games on PS5 Pro so far have used PSSR (Sea of Thieves, CoD), I'm guessing it might be something of an internal thing that the most they'll do with PS5 Pro is use its natural clocks to make DRS things run at their peak, maybe make some settings like draw distance etc increase, they probably don't want to do too many bespoke enhancements cause that will make the Xbox versions be in a bad light.

Well if PSSR gets updated it's probably the best way to handle many ports, no reason not to use it unless you can get to 4K without it...but even then, stuff like Stellar Blade offers both better IQ and better performance than Native 4k.

I don't think MS is mandating not using Pro, probably more of a developer/time situation, luckily this game is getting a few more months for the port

Great reviews, but seeing this is mostly stealth couldn't have possibly made me any less interested.

I'm sure I'll still play it when the full RT patch releases.

Great to see solid scores. I didnt think it would be this good. I predicted 70-74%. I was thinking it be too movie/cut scene heavy (4 hours as per that thread), and Indy is an older franchise I thought would be considered meh and not worth playing through. And first person view would be a turn off as reviewers would prefer seeing Indy and his whipping in third person. Indy is an 80s/90s kind of franchise. Seeing it as a good 2024 game is pretty surprising.

Its miles better than Robocop imo, and i quite liked that game.

Def a lot of exploring though if thats your thing.
Aren't the games very different in their gameplay loop? One more action and ranged and one more stealthy and melee focused.

I'm sure combat and shooting in robocop is way better than indy from what i saw and both games are wet dreams for fanboys of the brand.

Robocop doesn't have stealth but it has sandbox exploration where you can find new sidequests, power ups etc.

Bruh….Indy is looking good but you VASTLY underestimate the pro if you don’t think it beats the other consoles so so easily. There is a lot of FUD about the pro but damnit, it’s just a ps5 with a way better gpu. Yall are drinking the cool aid if you think early pssr issues on like 2 games means that it’s not blowing the base ps5 away in all the other patched games and the troubled pssr games too. Had one since launch. Currently playing SH2. Legend.

let it go GIF
As a PS5 Pro owner let’s wait and see, in the meantime I will play the game on my Series and PC, but so far I’m really unimpressed with the improvements on the PS5 Pro enhanced titles

It includes DLC let's not forget. Some people want to support the Devs for making a great game so don't mind.

I bought Forza early access. Consider I got cheap GamePass and feel value wise I can still get these "deals" to play early without feeling like a mug.

I mean I don't pay $70 per game AND still have to pay for online play

Yeah it sucks. And for a story focused game. I’m literally scared at looking at videos because I don’t want to be spoiled. And if I cave in and buy the Steam Advanced Access version, why do I have Gamepass?
At minimum I think GP Ultimate should be early access, at $20/month with regular fee it’s definitely a service for the enthusiasts. They can use the regular release date for the lower tiers.
But I prepaid and got it for $5/month so I guess I’m part of the problem, they want my money too.

I think the days of Xbox caring about console fanbois are gone. That ship has sailed. Just like they are happy for it to look its best on PC. They will simply try to have the game look and run its best on whatever platform they focus on. The reality is they'll want the sales from the far larger customer base that PlayStation can offer. So expect it to run its best on Pro and I'd be very surprised if it isnt Pro Enhanced. I'm sure in the future it will run better on a next gen Xbox in 2026.

It runs this well on current Xbox hardware without being optimized for it?

Impressive.

Review scores are certainly high enough for it to be a contender. Seems people on Steam are enjoying it as well.

I haven’t played it myself, so I can’t offer my informed opinion on if it belongs there or not, but the general reception seems quite positive.

Great to see such a good developer deliver again and trying something new! I hope they’re rewarded by it. I’m tired of developers milking the same thing to death. GOTY contender for sure!

I view the early access as a bonus - would have waited, but with the game being so good I knew I’d want the DLC.

Played another couple of hours last night, already confident enough to call it not just the best game released this year, but also the best ‘tomb raiding’ game ever released. Great stuff.
