IndieGogo - Windows 10 GPD Handheld -299$ "A Laptop Fitting in Your Pocket"

Here is a list of games i'm looking forward to playing on this.

Sonic Mania(hopefully)
Hyper Light Drifter
OwlBoy
Chasm
Heart Forth Alicia
The Dragon's Trap:Wonderboy
Fallout 1.5 Resurrection

aaaand about a billion more things. Definitely missing a lot but this is all I could think of, atm.

I didn't even think about Trails ... Still haven't gotten far in the first game, this feels like the perfect fit to finally make my way through it.

Thanks again for the videos Phawx, so far it seems to be doing a pretty great job on the kinds of titles you would hope to play on it. The fact that it can also run a few AAA games is an added bonus!

Where's the cheapest place to offer a new GPD Win, even if it wouldn't be shipped anytime soon? Is the free shipping from Geekbuying worldwide? Do they still have an active coupon/code?

I'd like to see more demanding games being tested if you get a chance, Phawx.

There were lots of titles being shown off over the summer from Chinese testers, but it looked liked all the games weren't being optimized and were running at 720P. Would love to see something like say, Street Fighter V running in low spec mode at a low resolution with resolution scaling at 0 to see if it hits 60 FPS. I was really impressed with what you showed of Doom running.

Here's SFV running on a Surface Pro 2. Would this be comparable at all to what the GPD Win can do?

I'm just trying to get the last wave of Gamecube/PSP stuff out of the way. Super Mario Galaxy runs at 50~FPS. Man... it sucks so much that GPDwin is so close to playing it full speed. My only hope is further optimizations and Vulkan.

After this emulation stuff, I'm going to show off low-spec GTA V and low-spec Fallout 4. I don't own SFV so I wouldn't be able to demo it.

I'd like to play a few more indie games on the device and then I'm making a video on how to open your GPDwin and improve the heatsink (hopefully).

Also the Surface Pro 2 is considerably beefier than the GPDwin.

No, sorry. The weakest *Pro* has a Core cpu, all of which run laps around any Atom. :(

A Core M device would have been marvelous! How PSP so far? Full speed on almost everything I hope!?

Damn, so close to full speed on Galaxy. Hopefully there are a few more optimizations that can be used.

Ahh well wasn't expecting Wii games to run but still that's very close to perfect, tried PS2 emulation?

You could definitely drop it down to that res, not sure if you got get 60fps though.

Play the PAL version of your games. They'll be 50fps so easier to reach.

looks very interesting and a cool "last hurrah" for the Atom cherrytrails (atom in general?) - but I am a bit confused when reading all the talk about the different cpu's used in the units and that some people didn't get what they thought they were ordering.

Is there a sure way to get a z8750? or are there problems with it and the z8700 is the only one available? and are the z8550s sprinkled here and there so you need to be cautious about buying a unit?

There will only be 8700 units going forward.

Some more videos from Reddit. Fallout 4 looks pretty playable!

As browsing baidu (china) can be tricky for western users, I'm posting here the most interesting stuff I find.

Please ask me to stop if you're already aware of this vids. I just think it's helpful as most of you won't be browsing this website because of the language (and the horrible bandwith of it sometimes)

(As many of you, I'm waiting for my GPD Win to be shipped, so I'm happy to watch some perf tests in the waiting.)

Someone on baidu just posted this footage, looks pretty nice to me!

Bonus, some good old RE4 as well: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4827733926

That's a neat trick. Don't the games play slightly slower? Or do they account for it.

They do run slower I think, but then again, I think that'd be the price for stability. Basically, PAL versions were meant to run at 50hz, so when you run them at 50fps, sound doesn't suffer from distorsion.

Nintendo switch is interesting quote from a member from the switch thread.

Yup. When they said they were holding back the unveiling because they didn't want their competitors to copy them, they were thinking more about inexpensive tablet makers like JXD, GPD, Amazon, etc. than they were Sony and Microsoft.

If they'd unveiled any earlier the web would be drowning in cheap Chinese 7" tablets with slide-on game controls and pre-installed emulators this Christmas.

Yeah Nintendo/Sony would have never bothered copying the switch but the Chinese company's? Don't want one because playing on PC for years has caused me to loath closed systems now, hope some company's do *copy* the idea or at least try to make more premium portable windows devices.

I actually wished Razer would try again, with a 14nm Core M/Nvidia GPU handheld.

Im excited for the switch but GPD win is still very valuable to me going forward as a windows portable

Ill get ample use out of both machines

Id like to get mine soon though :/

So a few things.

1.) I haven't received any shipping email from IGG.

2.) I've got Fallout 4 running at 40ish FPS.

Fallout 4 running. I wanted to show other areas to you guys (where framerate was way better) Hilariously the room where it was running well had some enemies. I thought I quit in enough time to load when the room was running at a much higher frame rate (with no enemies)

The game is very playable with VACS or if you want to run and gun. But I have to manage my Temps. It was approaching 85C :/

Honestly this video isn't very good, but I don't have the nerve to run it again until I can manage Temps way better.

I will try some PAL dolphin stuff soon. But I have a PSP compilation coming.

For the most part at frameskip 1 every PSP game on PPSSPP 1.3.0 runs near perfect with OGL backend. Again Vulkan is coming to PPSSPP and when Intel does finish it's going to be dope.

I believe I have resolution at 512x226 or something. Don't know off of the top of my head sorry XD

Thanks for all the vids Phawx, I have a good idea now of what will work on the WIN. Could you document the heat sink mod when you do it? I'm going to try a similar heat sink mod as well when I get mine, but I don't have any experience doing anything similar...

This is amazing Phawx.

Were you using any performance mods? I imagine that with some decent mods and textures you could keeping Temps down.

Really interested in the heatsink mod can't wait for that.
