Mine will be delivered tomorrow (IGG backer #2191). Honestly I wished I cancelled my order while I had the chance.
My expectations for the GPD Win is as low as it can be at this point. I just hope I get one that doesn't have issues since it'll be a pain to resell it or return it for a replacement.

Just got the GPD Win delivered, it is amazingly well built imo (I own tons of handhelds) for a made/designed in China product. I mean for the price, it's really better than the older netbooks or UMPCs I owned...
I am still setting it up .. but I would hate to have it fail due to the "love at first sight".

I think I got a "good" set without any crashes so far. Although I tested only a few stuff .. 3D Mark 2003, Heaven's benchmark and L4D2 (doesn't seem to work with a controller).

Were you a IGG backer? Apparently the igg units are worse off compared to the geekbuying ones
I ordered from Aliexpress, the official GPD store (I had Wade Wang replied they had immediate stock and that's why I ordered). The shipment came from HK directly, and it merely took less than 5 days to reach me.

I basically got one for free.
I received 2 where I ordered 1... strange. .... sold it to the person I was supposed to sell my Igg one ...
now tomorrow I'll get my igg one which I will sell as sell
So I end up with a free one. Overall nice device. To use as a computer it's amazing and small honestly a pleasure. It's getting quite hot while in use (70 C + with fan 2 during heavy stuff ). I have put a 128 micro sd card and a 128 USB (small size so it's almost invisible ). One is for my emulators and stuff. Other is for steam.
I find the switch to change d/mouse/x input not very viable sometimes it doesn't work as intended. Makes hard to use (for some emulator it has to be set on before launching the program or it won't work )
i wonder if I should bother with the IGG one to try it out before selling or stick with mine

how are you finding the unit so far?
Some more quick thoughts:
- The screen size is a little too small to use Windows via touch. I use a scaling of 150% and it seems way better. However, some windows still appear "cut-off" towards the bottom and it is hard to drag them upwards. If the buttons such as "OK or "Cancel" are at the bottom of the window, it is difficult, if not impossible to hit them.
- I tried another game, Stardew Valley. Runs absolutely fantastic and looks really good on the screen. I think this game suits the GPD Win perfectly. It's not taxing on hardware, meaning long hours of gaming.
- The controls are indeed a little mushy but I am not fussy over controls so they are still ok for me. At least it's better than having no physical controls (i.e. Windows tablets). If you are using a gamepad + tablet, you might as well game on a desktop/laptop right? If you are travelling with both, it's really a hassle to lug both along. The analog sticks feel exactly like the Vita ones to me.
- At 78% charged, Windows 10 is stating that an additional 4 hours is required to charge to full. This is with their cable and adapter. I am quite sure this is a bug or poor estimation by the OS. No matter, it seems to charge really really slowly.
- I disabled Turboboost (meaning it will not hit the max 2.4GHz clock speed) to increase the battery life and it seems to be running much cooler now. For my needs it is enough as I don't run intensive games or push the set to the limit.
- Lastly, I didn't do a fresh install etc. I just performed Windows update (which took pretty damn long) I made use of a USB-ethernet adapter which made it go much quicker. I didn't update the BIOs or anything like that too.
- I ran Heaven's Benchmark for 15 mins, 3D Mark 2003, 2006 for 30 mins each and was fine, no crashes thus far. Nothing abnormal detected in the event logs too.
- A lot of games don't support custom or low resolutions (not even via .ini files), which I hope an 3rd party application can resolve. Hope someone can enlighten me. Because even at low resolutions, they should still look great on a 5.5 inch screen. Low resolution = much higher performance.

If anyone was going to try playing through Fallout 3 using their Win, you will need to download a mod to get it work. You can get it HERE, it's a bypass mod for Intel HD graphics cards. Tricks the game into thinking you are using a low end nVidia card. The game will crash if you don't use it. So far, I was able to get through the interactive character creation section of the game. Using medium settings, at 720p resolution, I've had 30 to 60 fps. I'm going to try tweaking some of the options, if I can get to a stable 60 fps, I'll post them.
Do we need the same for New Vegas?

I just did a quick google search, and it appears this same fix will work for New Vegas. You will have to manually make the two changes to the New Vegas ini yourself.

Now onto Xbox streaming and I'm all set
I can't get Xbox streaming to work on mine. They're using the same router. Everything is enabled on both ends but the gpdwin doesn't see my Xbox. I put in the IP address of the Xbox and it still doesn't see it. Am I doing something wrong? I did research and even called ms support and the guy was totally clueless and said nothing for a solid minute before I ended the call and thanked him for his help.

I had to change Xbox one name in the console. NOw it's working Perfectly. I just need Xbox to be on to start it. I can't power it on even though it's on instant on , with the gpd

Glad it's working well for you, working on a large update that includes hardware decoding that should help out on low powered devices like this (as long as the hardware supports video decoding of course).

My last issue is steam. Evey game is crashing. Is that because I installed everything on USB key ?
Yes, I'm the developer. Input is another area in the pipeline, mouse input needs improvement and looking into ways of automating key presses so users can build macros and simpifly certain tasks. If there anything else you guys would like added that would improve usability on the gpd let me know, always open to constructive feedback.

Huh well when I went to bed 2 days ago with my device having a battery level in the 80's and woke up with the charge level being in the 20's I chalked it up to two programs I had left running.
Lat night my device was again sitting around 80% and I wake up this morning with the device shut off with 6% battery life left.
I had no applications open this time and I know the screen was off at least.

As long as you can improve input lag (a little bit higher than official app ) I'm all good. Really nice. Very good 9 spent !
Overall this is a buggy hardware (gpd win ) but the best you can expect from a Chinese brand like this. If it breaks well good luck, but it's a real small computer. Streaming to my Lg tv works perfectly, Xbox and PS4 streaming as well, emulator .... just can't use steam all game crashes after few second
Hope it gives an idea to big brand, to make a more solid device like this
Oh FFS got a bsod with a critical process died message on startup and now my keyboard no longer functions.
The 8 keys on the right side still function but none of the keys on the main keyboard work.
Restarting has not helped and crawling through event viewer is painfully slow trying to figure out what happened.

You've had so many problems with your unit, you need to make them replace it. Given everything that you've tried, I don't think any amount of tinkering is going to get it to an acceptable state.
IGG or somewhere else (I'm going nuts with my unit still in Hong Kong)

Got my IGG unit. I was 20XX, living in USA. All in all, not very far behind my GB unit (a week~ish?). This one will be for my brother.
Well one other person has reported his main keyboard suddenly stopped working yesterday while the 10 keys on the right work fine.
Liliputings review device also had the same issue.
Hoping this is not widespread.
Also yeah deleted all keyboard drivers and reinstalled,, reset all options in the BIOS and even did a fresh install of Windows 10 and it didn't do a single thing.
Not a single key on my main keyboard responds.
On a separate note Geekbuying's price has risen from $330 to $360 and GPD's Aliexpress store which used to be $330 has gone to $400.

i read that the cords could have came loose for the joystick, might that be an issue for the keyboard as well?

Also got my IGG one in. Initial thoughts are the d-pad and face buttons aren't great, but overall the device is quite comfortable to use. This is coming from somebody who never liked the Nintendo DS form factor. Shoulder buttons are in a nice arrangement, too. On the New 3DS and GPD XD, it's a little awkward to reach the second set of buttons.

Nah I'm from IGG with a backer number just above 1000 and Liliputing's test unit was IIRC from one of the first batches shipped, to the western reviewers.
I may be from the same batch since my number is 2016101201736 and Liliputings is 2016101201910.
I've contacted the one other guy on Reddit to try to cross reference anything we can.
I doubt its the ribbon cable since the 10 buttons on the right still work fine.
At this point don't worry about it, there are 3 known units with this problem so far while I think at least 2000 units out in the hands of people in the west so far.
