Not true.
Once they had Jason and Freddy, alot of horror fans wanted Leatherface to be able to have those kind of fights.

I don't think I have seen anyone want Leatherface, did see some who wanted Freddy to return because of Jason though.

Freddy would have been neat to come back with a revised moveset.

It pisses me off to no end, the fact that Nightwolf, Fujin and Sindel were all present in the story mode but weren't actually playable.

Instead we got Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and Alien because everyone wanted those characters.

I just finished story mode, and now am ready to start with building a character....who are the top 3 recommended characters that yall would recommend?
Black Adam, Aquaman, Deadshot, Superman, Atrocitus faired the best at the pro tourney over the weekend. But it's early, characters will change, etc. I'd pick someone who toolset you comfortable playing with against Deadshot and Aquaman...

This still hurts so bad. Especially after Boon heavily teased KP3 in numerous tweets.

Don't wanna derail the thread though, but still incredibly salty about it.

There are many characters i wanted and were missing in MKX but if MK 11 has not Fujin wtf.

They teased and trolled with him and many people were vocal about him and they still refused to put him in.

Just hope Raiden being evil finally puts the spotlight on Fujin.

Would have loved to see what they did with Pinhead.

I feel like Night Wolf needs a character revamp before he comes back - look at what Killer Instinct did recently with their Native American character (consulted Nez Percé to be more thoughtful and culturally sensitive) recently.

Fujin was the one character that really made me scratch my head. I'm guessing they held him back for MK11. Truthfully, I liked Bo Rai Cho's story portrayal, and was excited to see him come out, but when his fart/puke moves were part of his base move set and not just an optional funny loadout, I was let down. I feel like they could have really turned the corner on that character.

Anecdotally, when Alien, Jason, Leatherface and Predator came out, my non MKX friends wanted to come over and see them, so it makes sense to me that the guest characters are so prominently featured in NRS games. That said, this is another vote for "I hope they limit the number of guest characters to 1-2.

I have been really enjoying every DC character in this game, except Joker (that design just feels off to me - stuck between younger, emo look, overly designed gear and a harsher older voice) and to a lesser extent Poison Ivy (but if they release an animated series gear set or something a little less plastic Halloween costume looking, I'm in). Most of the names that are getting thrown around I'm not super familiar with, but would be excited to learn more about.

Oh yeah, him lol

Harley Quinn covers two of his moves.

Agree with you fully on all points. Killer Instinct did a decent job with the new Thunder outfit, especially considering their budget consists of the money found in between Phil Spencer's couch cushions. NRS should definitely look into doing something like that.

Not sure if they have events planned out this far in the future, but it would be cool if they did something like Black Lantern multiverse events that get you Black Lantern gear sets for everyone. Make it a Halloween thing or something.

I know there is a Beyond shader for Batman, but is there a gear set? I did get a head recently that might have been but I don't believe it was part of a set.

I rather hope they don't do too many non-DC characters for DLC. I'd be totally okay with Hellboy though as a one off outsider.

The amount of detail they put into the skins and items is really impressive.

They recolor many of the projectiles and abilities, there's a full helmet for batman that adds a robotic effect to his voice, and there is a ton of subtle differences between items that keep too many of them from being identical.

Pretty much. If Vixen is reduced to a shader for Cheetah, I don't see why Beast Boy couldn't be the same for Grodd.
It'd be absurd for Beast Boy to look like a gorilla at all times without a single glimpse of his regular character model. Plus, Grodd's telekinetic character power and super wouldn't make any sense for Beast Boy's gorilla form. The Vixen premier skin may be a limited representation of Vixen, but every single Cheetah animation fits her. The same can't be said for Grodd and Beast Boy.

I definitely agree with zoners being TOO strong here. I feel like they are trying to overcompensate for the lack of strong zoning in MKX. People like Pig of the Hut complained all the time over characters like Kenshi being bottom tier. I think zoning deserves to be represented but not to the extent we're currently seeing. What would everyone's ideal balance change log look like this early on?

Black Adam
Nerf/Scale damage after trait activation
Lengthen trait recovery/replenish time
Reduced hitbox/increase hurtbox on D2

Aquaman
Too much shit is plus on block, fix that
Remove Trident Toss (hear me out, they overhauled Green Lantern's moveset and AM has enough space control as it is without the projectile)
I know the above will never happen but whatever
Reduce chip damage and duration on Trident Rush.

Deadshot
Reduce chip damage on MB Rifle shots
Lengthen trait recovery time
Make all wrist cannon shots clash-able

Nerfing d2's is dumb, if anything others need to be brought up. A lot of characters have really poor anti air capabilities. Not really gonna comment on the rest.

I really don't like locking character abilities behind RNG. Apparently the reverse Omega Beam for Darkseid is an ability you have the find which completely removes my desire to learn him.

Hopefully this is just a bug...

Ok I'm bad at fighting games and need help.

I'm trying to do this combo but the regular kick always comes out too late after the enemy has already hit the ground. What am I doing wrong?

Any time you jump heavy attack you have to input your followup the moment you hit the ground. If you do jump light/medium you can input your followup string before you land but heavy you can't.

Literally the only guest I've ever really wanted in MK is Alien, and I lost my shit when he made it. I'm slightly more tolerant of guests in MK than Injustice because that actually makes some damn sense to me, even though however many there were on MKX was overkill no matter how you look at it.

I'm cool with guests in something like Smash Bros. since it's a hodgepodge of unrelated series and universes anyway, but I don't think a DC fighting game should have non-DC characters. They stand out too much.

Especially since the DC fanbase can be quite rabid about which characters get in and which don't. A Mortal Kombat guest character getting in the game when *insert favourite character here* does not is going to cause a lot of backlash

As a Aquaman player, i would be ok with these changes except for the part about trident toss. You can get around it easily and its not like From The Deep where that move is oppressive as hell. That move needs to get looked at, maybe make it more negative or reduce its upper hitbox. The amount of reach that move has is ridiculous. I'd say just remove all the plus on block stuff, theres no reason he should have it.

What bothers me the most is how effortless it takes to play Aquaman. Big reason why there's so many pocket Aquaman players in tourneys. You'd think NRS would learn from Inj1 but i guess not. All the top legacy characters still stayed the same.

Oh well, im dropping Aquaman once Black Manta releases anyways. I hope they do him justice.

Sorry for jumping in.

How is the game for everyone? Is the online good? Are ragequitters frequent?

Previous NSR games were crawling with ragequitters.

Game is fun. If you've played IJ1, you know what to expect. Zoning is pretty strong and a few characters are REALLY strong but I expect nerfs soon.

Online is FANTASTIC. Netcode is really smooth and mostly an awesome experience.

I've only encountered a rage quitter once in over 150 games. And RQing leads to an automatic loss if you're playing Ranked.

Online's really good. Only had one quitter so far. Netcode is fucking fantastic, even higher-ping connections feel good.

Is casual online a slaughter-fest for someone who isn't great at fighting games? I've been holding my own against the AI, but I'm too chicken to go online.

Anyone who wants a guest character in fighting games is a monster and can't come to my birthday party.

Well you only have store brand Doctor Thunder and Mountain Mist soda at your party so I for one did not want to come anyway.

God Grodd, I feel like a piece of shit browsing GAF while my AI Wonder Woman clears the movie gear Multiverse and fights better than I ever will.
