As someone who was adopted into a Jehovah's Witness family, and someone who had friends growing up in similar religions it finally hit me why Trump's campaign felt so familiar.
Trump's campaign reminds me of certain religions.
You create your truth , as he has with his doom and gloom and crooked this and crooked that, and I know better than the generals.
Then you demonize all of the outside sources that could actually show someone the reality of the situation.
Looking at videos about how Trump has his sheep so mindfucked against the media..Hillary's media...THEIR MEDIA, crooked news network...
Make sure they only trust you and your approved sources.
They will believe your interpretation of events, they will believe your poll numbers, your character defamation and assassinations...
These people have enjoyed being in the daylight, they will not want to scurry back into their xenophopic holes.
It is so far past disturbing....

He might've had a small lead during/immediately after the RNC, but this is largely due to his weak convention bump (that doesn't necessarily mean he swayed undecideds) and was quickly negated by Clinton's decent/good post-DNC bump. In many forecast and prediction models, he has never led.

Really though, by any measure, Trump has not been leading this election cycle at all. His convention bump was much smaller than Clinton's, he lost every debate, has faced serious and vocal dissension within his own party, and was already facing an uphill battle win looking at demographics and electoral college breakdowns. He even has the outside change of losing a Republican stronghold state (Utah) to an independent candidate.

Making mistakes for 99% of people requires them to change their behavior so that they don't make that mistake again. If you have a shitload of money that you didn't earn from the day you were born, you can make as many mistakes as you want without having to change your behavior. That is, until your mistakes decide whether or not you become president or not. His entire life is clashing with the reality that he is going to have a tough time becoming president if he doesn't change his behavior after making mistakes.

Of course, it's too late for that, he's already decided that he will never ever change his behavior.

I doubt the Russians ever thought he had the slightest chance of winning. I imagine their goal was similar to their goal in Europe. Fan the flames of the far right in order to destabilize the political situation. Win or lose, they've been successful in their goal.

They were about to abandon their plans after Khan. They thought for sure that the GOP would drop his ass. They have a better opinion of americans than the country does of itself.

I'll stake my money on both, that is, his first tweet will be something akin to a concession, albeit in a typically Trumpian calm and understated manner. Something along the lines of "Fuck you, America!"
