INSIDE is coming to PS4 on August 23rd

The game is related to Limbo story-wise? Follow up? Sequel? "Spiritual successor"?

It's an identical experience to limbo, but disconnected narratively. Similar length, puzzles, threats, etc... If you enjoy limbo, this is more of that.

Much faster than expected! Thought it would be at least a year.

Was getting close to picking it up on Xbone, but I guess I'll just get it on PS4 now.

Story wise is more deep? More meaningful? Better than limbo's?

That's a tough question to answer. It's perhaps more mindblowing, unpredictable and surprising then Limbo... but Limbo's story is incredibly deep and meaningful.

Both are fantastic, along with Journey some of my most memorable brief games ever.

4 hours sounds great in a crowded August.

Was it an Xbone console exclusive at first or why didn´t they release this simultaneously?

Thinking it'd be exclusive to the Xbone platform for a while, i went ahead and listened to all kinds of spoilercasts.

Not sure if it's going to have the same / any impact on me now.

Considering limbo barely had a story, inside provides a bit more to infer or assume from with a neat twist payoff, but it's still more focused on linear puzzle platforming and deathtraps for about 3-4 hours.

hi guys I just heard Inside was coming on August 23rd

On a serious note, that's a pretty quick turnaround, it only came out a few weeks ago. Still interested in playing it, though its Limbo pedigree is not nearly as much of a selling point for me as it seems to be for others.

And yet LewieP beat them all:

(albeit without a confirmed date but still..)

I'm down. Loved Flower, have yet to start Journey (pre-ordered PS4 version, still sitting on my HDD unplayed, I know slap me), enjoying ABZU, pre-ordered Bound, was indifferent with Limbo, really enjoyed Never Alone, so this seems to fit right in with those types of experiences as a nice break from traditional 'AAA' gaming.

I know almost nothing about this game, but like what little I have heard. I wasn't able to play Limbo due to my crippling Arachnophobia, can anyone tell me if I will have any problems with this?

Yes/No will do, thanks!

HOLY SHIT!!! i thought this was going to take 6 months to a year!!! I already played it with a friend on his PC...we actually planned to go out that night, but ended up drunk in his room discussing what the hell just happened in this game. It's incredibly awesome and i will gladly replay it on PS4

Nice. Wasn't expecting this so quickly - thought it was going to be XBONE exclusive for longer. Loved Limbo so I'm really looking forward to playing this.

Damnit I didn't think this would be coming any time soon, wish I didn't play it on my crappy laptop.

Would I like this if I didn't like Limbo? I'm just not into puzzle-focused sidescrollers. The art style and movement were fine.

Great news. Day one purchase. July and August are turning out to be awesome when it comes to (AA) games. The amount of good and interesting games being released is incredible at the moment.

You shouldn't have any problems.

Depends. It has quite a few puzzle elements but it tends to progress through them quickly. There's no gimmick that you rely on for the entire game. I didn't like Limbo (I was late to the party and it kinda fell flat for me) but INSIDE is GOTY tier imo. It doesn't utilize any one puzzle mechanic for more than a few minutes iirc.

What's up PS4 bros, this game really is that good. It is about a 4 hour game but everything in that 4 hours is top notch, art, sound, animation, story presentation, controls, design... this game nails it all. I might end up double dipping because the game is awesome and I think the devs really deserves all the support and love I can muster. Inside is currently sitting at #1 on my personal goty list.

The only thing I will say is don't come into this game expecting anything to be explained to you. Pay attention to the details in your surroundings and how others react to your character and draw your own conclusions, this game does a very good job of showing but not telling.

Question, is it is, while a different experience, far more gripping than Limbo?

I was indifferent to Limbo after the first level. Played it to completion, but think something like Never Alone was a better overall experience.

If I thought Limbo was an awful game and put it away rather quickly, is there any chance I'll like this?

The puzzles never get as annoying as some of the ones in Limbo so you never get stuck for for long but it is basically the same style of game.

It's fucking gorgeous though and has some of the best atmosphere in a long time.

FWIW I thought Limbo was OK but loved Inside.

Are you a fan of books portraying an oppressive atmosphere? Like 1984 or Fahrenheit 451? If so you should be able to appreciate INSIDE. It left an impression on me.

This game is awesome. An easy buy, if a dark puzzle-platformer filled with impressive visual storytelling is up your alley.

Dystopian is the best way to describe the theme genre.

Sounds fantastic! Thanks.

I like the sound of this.

Best cinematic platformer ever made and so cohesive and mature it makes something like Journey look silly.

That's so early. I guess there was no timed exclusivity deal like everyone thought and thank god. Definitely going to play it as soon as possible.

Might have to play this sometime down the road. I thought Limbo was just okay but it was fun to play it on my Vita.

This is my first post, I'm happy to be a part of the GAF community after waiting so many years :)

I'm so excited about this game, glad it reviewed very well and btw I loved LIMBO

I'm assuming it's gonna be $20? I'm not a big fan of Limbo so I don't feel comfortable paying full price for this. I wonder if they'll do some sort of pre-order price discount, hmmm

Same feeling here. Limbo was a disappointment for me.
This needs to be a lot better to make it worth at that price, especially considering the short length.

That was fast.

Anyway, whoever didn't played it yet. Shut up and go play the game. Don't read anything, just go buy and play.

INSIDE isn't Limbo. Sure, it's coming from the same direction, but this game didn't feel anything like Limbo. For me Limbo was "an ok" game. But INSIDE hit me and many others hard. Maybe the feeling of difference comes from the story or the world. INSIDE's world just sucks you in (if you dig the setting) and is more concrete compared to Limbo.

INSIDE is beautiful, polished, brilliant, detailed, forward-going, surprising, thought-provoking, one-of-a-kind slap in the face.

I can't say INSIDE for every one, because no game is. But I feel that if you love games in general, buy this game. You shouldn't miss it. It's unique. Don't get spoiled in advance. There's no need to watch it from Youtube if you wan't to experience it in full effect. I bought it with only little prior knowledge, played it in one sitting, had my face blown off and here I am weeks later still excited about the game.

Either buy the game or just leave it and play something else. You can always wait for the price to drop but I say get it while it's hot.
