Battlefield Labs First Playtest Starts This Week

The first Battlefield Labs playtest will start this week, Insider Gaming has learned.

Insider Gaming has learned that Battlefield Labs will have its first playtest to test "concepts and mechanics" on Friday March 7th. The playtest will be the first in EA's new Battlefield Labs program, which was announced earlier this year. The first test is scheduled to take place for approximately two hours on the PC.

According to the email sent to participants, the test is in a "closed test environment" and recording, streaming, and discussions about the game are strictly prohibited. But whether participants stick to such a confidentiality agreement remains to be seen.

gameplay from the first Battlefield Labs session has leaked. Apparently some dude nonchalantly started streaming it on twitch before it was quickly taken down

Looks fine I guess. The running/gunplay reminds me the MW reboot, but again after that game every FPS is copying their style.

The leaks looks extremely positive. Better movement, punchy audio again, great destruction, better animations, great UI and voice over. Man i really want this to be good

I'll never get used to how horrible it must be to play an FPS on a console........... they overwhelming feeling of restriction is too much for me to handle!

On topic - it's looking positive however 2042 was also looking positive before it launched.

Looking great. UI could use some work, but not too bad.

Not sure about the kill confirm being to the left instead of center.

Why is direct capture leaked gameplay shit quality in 2025? Why are all of these people using a controller? Console only test for now?

Hopefully the game isn't geared towards consoles/controllers. Battlefield should be a proper PC game without aim-assist or console limitations. I'm jumping the gun, but hopefully we'll at least be able to disable crossplay.

- The console player base is huge for BF titles.
- Aim assist is optional on consoles, me and several friends play on console without it.
- Crossplay is almost always optional. I don't know of an online shooter with forced Crossplay between PC and console.
- The shit quality is just part of leaks! But probably really due to X bitrate.

Fair enough. I just don't like to compete against aim-assist and was surprised to see every video was being played on a controller.

Guess I'm complaining for no real reason because Battlefield has always been solid. I've even had good fun in 2042.

The shit quality still makes no sense unless it's intentional lol
