Introducing Battlefield Labs - Help shape the future of BF

Destruction is impressive so far.

I think bad company 2 is the greatest battlefield of all time, before BC2 it was all serious, bad company and bad company 2 and made it fun, and that opened the door to games like battlefield 3, 4, 1, 5 and 2042.

I like the mechanic that requires you to hold the grenade throw button to throw a grenade further. Hopefully that ads an extra layer of skill to grenade throwing.

So far, I like what I see. I feel like the soldier design looks a bit too cartoony. BF3/4, looked like a gold standard in this regard. Even BC2 while a bit cartoony, looked more authentic.
Man, I tried to leave this series after 5 and 2042, but I just can't! I remember starting with the very first BF1942 when it was released and playing every consecutive game in the franchise for hundreds of hours. Battlefield is a part of my DNA.

I just hope the buildings that are destroyed create new maps, like the rubble should stay in place and can be destroyed more etc... probably too much to ask.

That's the problem when people say destruction, when I think destruction, I think the BFBC2 type where the buildings get destroyed and changes the landscape/game play of the map. What I think the devs mean by destruction is that the front of building can be destroyed, I don't want the BF3 city maps that are just giant corridors with destructible fronts or planned events that change it.

In BC2 maps opened up in stages and you basically followed a moving frontline with the old map parts staying like you left them until the end of the round.
If you mean that you just continue playing on the same parts of the map over several rounds with permanent destruction.....I think that would be near impossible to balance and result in a lot of frustration.

That type of destruction works best in rush mode as you've described. It's trickier with conquest since you're constantly fighting over the same areas the entire game, you're right that it would lead to a lot of frustration.

I like how they're tracking player data. Reminds me of the golden days before battle passes ruined everything where the likes of Dice and Treyarch would balance weapons based on player usage. If 50% of your player base is using one gun, it's overpowered.

I really like some of those perks. I never play sniper and i always thought they are the most useless, especially in BF games, but with those perks...
The sniper perks do look very interesting and will be my go to class for any type of open ish maps

I enjoy being a tank killer as well even if thats all I do on a map

I love playing that tank assassin role in Hell Let Loose so Engineer will likely be my most played

Have some messages out seeing if this play test is bigger and if anyone can call in any favors, really want to try this game out

They said that they will ramp up the testing as it goes so more and more people will join. I hope i can join too in the near future. I want to actually give feedback since im playing this franchise since the beginning

They are essentially Bad Company 2 classes with their perks. Medics with small miniguns, assaults with ammo crate, engineers with the anti-tank gear, snipers with mortar call. If they do not mix the classes we can hope to have again the need to select few defined classes with clear use, to form efficient parties.

Hopefully there is no 'sniper' but recon. Used to have a lot of fun playing as close quarters frontline recon with shotgun, recon ball for helping teammates and C4 for tanks in BC2 Rush.

I know they're trying to go for a dark and gritty look but I hope they add a bit more color in the full game. A there's a bit too much grey and brown right now.

I'd just be happy with an updated 1942 and the ability to mod in Desert Combat and Forgotten Hope 🤷‍♂️

I know we'll just get an eyeball busting ADHD simulator though.

So they're basically bringing this back to what made classic battlefield titles actually good with QoL improvements? Fucking SOLD! All looks great so far, love it!

*also, im legit happy this looks this good and I hope it pushes COD to innovate beyond their current formula and we get a positive evolution of both franchises. <3

That drag revive is something the fanbase has been asking for for decades lmao

Between that and the destruction, this is looking amazing. Get the shooting mechanics and map design down, and you could potentially make one of the BFs in the series. Who knew all you had to do was exactly what the core BF fanbase has been asking for since the beginning

That is a perfect list of weapons for a modern shooter.
Funny that the US Army M7 is listed as a carbine. It's definitely an assault rifle (and arguably a battle rifle, but the Army insists it's an assault rifle). There is a carbine variant but the Army isn't using it yet. They only just started issuing the M7 and it's going to take a long time for them to produce enough ammo to field the rifle widely.
