Introducing Battlefield Labs - Help shape the future of BF

My point is, you are posting your gripes that are in 100% of pre-alpha competitive multiplayer shooters. Your post is the exact reason why companies tell people not to talk about pre-alphas.

So I'm not to post my opinion on the experience I'm having.........? Have I said nit to buy, and made it quite clear its probably my end.

I haven't asked anymore including dice to listen to me 🤣

Wind your neck in dude x

Yeah we usually get this level of quality in open betas from dice, 1 month before release not 6+ months lol this will be more than fine in october/november
Definitely..that's what's so great about them doing this whole labs thing. Shows they really care about the series and know this is probably their last shot to get it right.

There will always be complainers, but i really liked what i played. Its night and day compared to 2042. I saw some posts on reddit about this being an improved 2042 lol. What are these people even playing. Im playing this franchise since the first game and i can tell you that there is 0 2042 DNA in this game

Did you forget how bad 2024 launch was and still is?

The 2042 Beta actully played ok, but shit hit the fan at launch.

Will you never learn?

This is literally revisionist history.

I played the 2042 alpha and beta - both were an absolute shit show. The alpha was hard locked to 30 fps and the beta didn't even have a map or a scoreboard.

The BF6 pre-alpha is sensational compared to 2042. It's hands down the best Battlefield experience I've had, and the most fun I've played since BF4 Final Stand DLC.

In fact, I'm playing BF4 again now because it's made me hyped.

I'm getting ready to fire it up now. I have no doubt the people comparing to 2042 are those people who are going to hate on the game no matter what.

After 4 matches, I can safely say Battlefield is back! This thing is almost ready to launch at this point. After seeing the state it is in, I would not be surprised to see a late September or early October launch this year.

These lab builds are special builds made for testing specific things so internally they are probably more ahead of these versions

100%. This one is about ready. I have no doubt they are announcing beta and release date next month.
Huh, no it's far from ready. It's good so far, but feels very very pre alpha still.
Let a beta be the real deciding factor if this one needs to cook longer or not. I don't mind waiting one more year for this battlefield to be perfect.

Far from ready on what platform? Are you playing on PC? PS5 is legitimately almost release ready.

Feels like every other pre-alpha/pre-release playtest they've done since BF3. I'm happy to say the meat is there, just need to see if the veg and gravy is right when release day comes. Need a bigger CQ map with more vehicles before a proper judge tbh.

Had to turn off all motion blur for mouselook not to be laggy af.

That's probably moreso the future frame rendering messing with input delay. Motion blur shouldn't have any impact.

Said before and I'll say again

Having unlocked weapons, makes "play your role" irrelevant!!!

People who are going to be most dedicated to "playing a role" are going to do it anyway. The people who have little interest in "playing a role" are still not going to do it even with class locks.

Played 3 rounds yesterday, sound rules as always, I really like the look of the factions, hopefully if they introduce customization it won't be silly, the gunplay is tight and despite being a test I'm already liking the weapon variety, blasting fools with the M60 was wonderful. And best of all the destruction, please do not nerf it, if anything just ramp it up even more.

I do not like the class balance atm, unless I missed something the support class both healed and provided ammo? Why? Snipers were useless in that map, I got sniped sometimes but I lost 2 out of those games and they were the ones were people were playing with snipers the most. I know this isn't exactly the game's fault but it does bring me back to the OG attrition system from V which I genuinely think helped forcing players to play more as a team.
Some of the gadgets seemed completely useless, at least on that map, and the weapons not being locked thing, yeah I don't like it, I don't think I ever will.
I will also never be happy with the vehicle spawn system they introduced in BF4, I played BF3 and BFBC2 not long ago and I still prefer it when vehicles spawned at the base and we had to rush to them instead of picking them at a menu. And as far as I could tell there were no animations when entering a vehicle? I hope they do bring them back in the release version.

Other than that the game's performance was okay, the server's performance was absolutely horrid but this was just a test, I don't think it's fair to take conclusions from it regarding performance, that is the developers' job for now.

So yeah, I won't hype myself since I got burned badly with V and I didn't even buy 2042, but so far I think EA have a solid base to build a cool Battlefield.

Played again last night. Overall, I was VERY impressed from what I played on PS5. Just need some tweaks and I think it would be ready this year.

The one thing I want to point out is the issue of class-locked weapons. Using different classes of weapons for different roles (Assault/Support/etc) actually felt....REALLY good. Using AR's and MG's as a Support class didn't feel restrictive. I know the community is divided on this but honestly, I didn't mind it.

As I stated before, the gunplay feels SOO GOOD. I didn't realize until last night that I could choose different weapons lmao. Weapon names are not shown but being around FPS for a while, I found the FAMAS and it felt orgasmic using it. Weapon variety was impressive; sadly I didn't get a chance to explore it more though. Some of the spawn points were not the greatest honestly. But never the less, it's a server stress test and things will be ironed out prior to final release.

The map rotations were on the okay side. Conquest maps felt smaller than I would have thought. But, the Domination/Breakthrough variations were perfect. Classic Battlefield with lots of corners, corridors and the classic need to check your corners. Some glitching with green squares but not a lot though. The pre-alpha was way more polished than I thought. I am legitimately excited for it.

Nice. I love Battlefield especially Bf 1 to Bf 3. Bf4 was also decent.Im still playing BF4 Mp on ps5. I hope BF6 will be back to BF greatness both on campaign and MP mode.
In all honestly, it definitely feels like I'm back in Battlefield 3/4 territory. The weapons pack a serious punch here and they're different enough that you HAVE to experiment with them all.

What's also nice, is the addition to test out different weapon attachments/accessories/magazine clips IMMEDIATELY from when you modify your weapon....NO LOAD TIMES. That's slick as hell.

its the small touches i liked as well, for example i found the running speed a little slow, until realised you can run much fast with your knife out

That's because I would argue roles in BF are super fluid based on the situation on the map....it's not like selecting the class of your RPG character or something. Which is why I don't exactly get what the complaints are about?

Isn't Conquest in BF basically Domination? I am not such a fan of Conquest in BF because it feels like playing COD Domination on too large of a map....the action is too spread out and it feels more random and less strategic for a battlefield game Smaller maps would be welcome for that mode imo.....I am generally more of a fan of Breakthrough because it creates a war-like frontline.

I liked what I played but can't have a real opinion as I never play these kind of games with a controller on console.

Graphics and destruction were pretty good, the drag injured mechanic works well as well. Lots of customization options for weapons but the info on the effect doesn't seem to be there yet and I didn't play enough to discern the differences between the types of ammo.

It doesn't seem like they fucked it up this time. We might even have a good launch window.

I actually loved this. It worked well and also fits so well.

The destruction we´ve seen so far still doesn`t even seem to be on par with BC2.
While the canned "square wall crumbles without really leaving debris" destruction is back (we had that in 2010....) I´ve yet to see buildings being completely leveled to the ground.

Can someone confirm?

It's not bc2 levels tbh, not the levels I played, it does leave debris tho
