I see lots of people talking about cases, but has it been confirmed that iPhone 4 cases will work just fine with the 4S?

They won't unless you have a iPhone 4 CDMA model. The mute button is slightly displaced.

The only official product from Apple is the bumper.

That only protects the sides, right? No protection for the back of the phone?

I may just go caseless like all of my past phones.

Yes, YES! I am feeling better!

If I do decide to grab a bumper I'm going to have to get a new one as the ones I have are pre-CDMA I think.

It protects the back in the sense that it gives it a raised edge so if you set it on a flat surface the back isn't touching anything.

Yep, just the sides. However you can buy some Apple socks.

This will be my first iPhone. So a CDMA iPhone 4 case will work just fine? Does Apple sell any official minimalist cases?
In store?

They usually have been carrying the 'universal' versions of their bumpers (the one I bought is a universal one due to the elongated space for the mute button). As far as third-party cases, I think they might be universal ones as well.

Really depends on how many new users they are gaining out of this or if it is just existing smart phone users.
As many Evos they sold... probably new customers. I bought an Evo last year and there is no way in hell I'm going to pay 650 to 850 for this. I'll wait thanks.

He's just saying it cause you're FAMOUS. You chose poorly.
Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it. Black iPhone looks sleeker and more like a modern piece of technology.

Go look at that Vader pic....

Besides, if you had picked White you would have said you chose poorly all the same.

Ah, that sounds good. I take it the back of the case scratches pretty easily?

I think I'll just get the Apple bumper rather than some bulky case.

Maybe in pics, but in person I disagree. The white iPhone looks nice.

Guess I'm just too use to black smartphones.

I don't like the whit front face Apple is using for iPhones and iPads. Prefer 3GS style with black face and white back.

I thought that was ugly.

Plus that style would look worse on the 4 & 4S due to it's shape in comparison to the 3G & 3GS.

If iTunes match works how I think it does where you can stream music from your library instead of actually having to have all the songs stored on your device (in the 4S conference he said that your most played songs would be cached on the device), I could easily see going over 2GB limits that ATT and Verizon have now. My commute to work and back is an hour total, and 90% of the time I am listening to music from my iPhone in my car, so that's basically an hour of streaming music almost every day, not to mention all the normal daily data usage, but thankfully I still have unlimited data on AT&T

I thought you were all about case-free?
