Great, thanks!Tobor said:I believe they're cached until you delete the email, or it falls outside the limit you set. Mine is set to show 50 recent, so once the email becomes the 51st, it and the attachment is removed from the cache but left on the server.

Which prompts me to ask: why didn't ITunes restore my camera roll and other settings from a recent backup and forced me to choose a backup from last week to get it all back on the new 4s? Weird.ChanHuk said:Plug into computer, iTunes pops up, ask if you want to setup the phone as a new device or from backup. Done.
Not to be "one of those guys," but as soon as Siri was announced I was wishing I had the free time to cobble together SiriSaidWhat.com. Feel free to execute on my idea for personal gain and (hopefully) TextsFromLastNight-esque results if you like that branding better (or think you could execute better) than WhySiriWhy.TommyT said:
This isn't any easy question to answer without knowing what you plan on using your phone for.Maklershed said:Hi folks. Never owned an iphone before and I'm capitulating (read: I keep adding it to my verizon cart and get cold feet and close the page haha) about taking the plunge for the 4S. But if I were to go through what data package would I want - 2gb ok or will I be cramped with that? Is the 5gb better or just overkill?
Well nothing too outlandish. Probably just browsing the web when I'm bored and/or on the bus. Playing Words With Friends that sorta thing.Tron 2.0 said:This isn't any easy question to answer without knowing what you plan on using your phone for.
But generally 2GB should be plenty for most users.
Do it!
You're free to change the data package during the contract so I'd suggest you try a certain amount of data for a month, check your usage, then try another tier to find which fits you best. Personally, I feel that not having to worry about the data usage is a great weight off my mind and I'm happy to pay for the privilege even if I don't pass the limit during many months.Maklershed said:Hi folks. Cloudy said:Guys is there a reader app that will increase font size without stretching the page? I don't want to have to scroll side to side.
Edit: will instapaper convert PDFs?

Instapaper doesn't do PDFs. Try ReadItLater. Which app did you use that stretches the page?Cloudy said:Any ideas on this? I found stanza but it looks like it doesn't work with iOS 5? Help!
I think you'll be fine with 2GB.Maklershed said:Well nothing too outlandish. Probably just browsing the web when I'm bored and/or on the bus. Playing Words With Friends that sorta thing.
The 4S is literally the same build as the CDMA 4. Any case designed for the CDMA 4 is specifically designed for the 4S.VisitableElf said:Any good cases SPECIFICALLY made for the 4S?
I really like the Speck Pixel Skin HD but the Ringer switch doesnt quite align with the hole...

Yeah, that part is tricky. Once the CDMA iPhone 4 was released most case designers created "universal" iPhone 4 cases. The difference is minor and is usually just a larger area for the mute button (which was moved slightly from GSM to CDMA models).VisitableElf said:Cool. THanks for the tip! Does it usually say on the box though?
Oh I thought you meant web article reader apps. So... you want to reflow the text of a pdf while reading it on an iPhone?Cloudy said:Just ibooks and adobe reader. I want it to look like an ebook. Reading regular pdfs on an iphone is a huge hassle unless it's in the right format

Thanks for this! You mentioned it in a post a few days back and it really piqued my interest.Stumpokapow said:Successfully converted my old iPhone 3G to be an AirPlay receiver.
Steps to do this:
1. Update your iPhone 3G to 4.2.1 in iTunes.
2. Jailbreak (Super easy instructions here)
3. Cydia -> Search -> AirServer ($5)
4. Buy, run, turn on "always on", set device name.
5. Tada!
6. Stick iPhone in standard iPod speaker doc.
Haven't decided if it's going in the kitchen or bathroom yet. So now I've got two AppleTVs, my Macbook Air (running the OSX version of AirServer), and my old iPhone 3G. AirPlay is really great when you start accumulating a device library enough to use it when, where, and how you please![]()

Cloudy said:I want my pdf to be readable w/o me squinting or zooming in and distorting the margins. Kind of like how the ebooks from the store are. I do not need all the extra options you get with ebooks. Just convenient reading without straining my eyes or getting dizzy from all the scrolling when zoomed in lol The occasional pdf is fine but I cannot read a real book on iphone unless it's in epub(?) format
I just downloaded a sample of my book from the store and it looks awesome. But I'm not buying it twice just to read on iphone lol

They hit me with two activation fees and two "upgrade fees" ($140ish in fees) because the Sprint rep at the Apple Store had to switch the phones they had assigned to me to get my purchase to go through.
He swore up and down that it was right and that everything would be okay. Now I'm staring at a $300 first month's bill. Yeah, no, not for 200kbps down. We're not doing that. Unbelievable...
I've heard a LOT of complaints from Sprint iPhone users on other forums, mostly about terrible data speeds.RBH said:Any other impressions from Sprint 4/4S owners so far?
Just interested in seeing if the initial strain put on their network by the recent influx of new users is starting to resolve yet or not.
