This might be a farfetch, but try setting your clock to July 11. It said the same for me, but since it's July 11 here now, it's working and you can visit the AppStore from the iTunes store with no need for a workaround either.Bowser said:I installed 7.7, went to Preferences and checked Applications, and went to the store and I get a "The iTunes Application Store is not currently available. Please try again later." message![]()
Have you tried restarting? Or system restore to before you first installed 7.7, uninstall iTunes, then install 7.7.Costanza said:goddammit now my PC won't even recognize the phone at all
Yep.hirokazu said:Have you tried restarting?
Try DFU restore mode http://www.modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/How_To:_Enter_DFU_Restore_ModeCostanza said:Yep.
I deleted Apple Mobile Device Support also, and reinstalling iTunes was supposed to put that back but it hasn't. I have no fucking idea what to do now.
Just did a System Restore back to 8 AM this morning and I'm installing iTunes again.. if that doesn't work I'll try this.enzom21 said:

I picked up my iphone like three days after they released em with no problem, and considering the price point and hype I figured they'd want to flood the market this time around.

Quick app impressions:
AIM - It's OK. Not great. Right now it doesn't do push notifications. You have to be running the program for it to acknowledge/notify you of new messages. It only has the standard AIM message received sound and it doesn't appear that you can turn it off unless you put the phone on vibrate (it's quite loud and doesn't sound terribly good on my OG iPhone's speakers).

Ms. Pac-Man - Plays inexplicably slowly. I'm using the touchscreen D-pad. It's not terrible, but...not great.
Bank of America app - Doesn't appear to be anything more than a small front-end to the already-existing web app. Superlame.
Twitterific - Works OK (and here I thought this was supposed to be the stellar app). I have the free version. Runs slowly on Edge and images load very slow. It appears it doesn't cache anything more than what's on the screen at any current time because when you scroll up/down you lose images even if they had just been loaded already before. So I could be on a screen where "MacRumors Feed" has an image, scroll down and another entry by that same name doesn't have the image.

Do you have another PC to try things on? If you completely uninstall iTunes and install 7.7, then all that should be up to date, so I'm all out of ideas.Costanza said:Nothing I do is having any fucking sort of effect. Now I'm back to
"iTunes requires a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. Run the iTunes installer again to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again."
It connects fine to another PC. Ugh, this is really pissing me off.hirokazu said:Do you have another PC to try things on? If you completely uninstall iTunes and install 7.7, then all that should be up to date, so I'm all out of ideas.
SuperPac said:No. I put my phone to sleep while driving to work and would check it occasionally at a stoplight and when I got to the parking lot. It kept me signed in, all I'd have to do is start AIM to read the messages I'd gotten in the interim. I dunno if it signs you out after a certain period of time though.
Cool, bye bye iSim.thegreyfox said:Yeah no kidding. I just made Evernote puke.
I'm try to look for away to tell all Apps that i don't need to be asked " Can this App use Location?" every time i use an App.
AOL: If you go to Settings(on the iphone, not aim): Aim. There is a switch that says
"Sign-off on Exit".
Contacts: Settings:Mail,Contacts,Calendars. There is a button that says "Import SIM Contacts".

Yeah, same for the NES emu.SuperPac said:I do not know.
Upon replaying Ms. Pac-Man, I've discovered the game players significantly better with swipe controls instead of the virtual d-pad. It still runs sluggishly, but I don't feel like I wasted my money anymore.
Human_Shield said:Anyone else try the Remote app? I think it's really great, especially if you have multiple libraries. Guess I'm going to have to invest in AirTunes now.
And Xater, you're dead on about Ms. Pacman(accidentally bought when I thought it would put it in my shopping cart). I can't see how is should be playing with any type of slowdown.
StrikerObi said:AirTunes is fucking amazing. I haven't listened to music on my MacBook (and former Powerbook) for like 3 years. I stream everything to my stereo. It's amazing. What irks me is this. My MacBook is on my wifi network and can stream music to my AirPort Express. My iPhone is on the network too but it can't. Imagine how more awesome AirTunes would be if iPhone supported it. The speaker on the iPhone is terrible, but sometimes I don't want to listen to music with my headphones. I would love to be able to stream my music from my iPhone direct to my stereo. I guess it isn't a big deal because everything that is on my iPhone is already on my MacBook, and I can use Remote to control it, but I would still rather stream directly from the iPhone. If a friend came over and was like "check out this song!" he could just stream it right to the stereo.

Give it a few hours for jailbroken 2.0 FW.MercuryLS said:So are jailbroken iPhones screwed?
thegreyfox said:Bowser,
When you get the 4 digits on the iphone, a new thing should pop up as if you were plugging in the iphone. If you can't see it then there is something wrong with the connection between the iphone and the computer. It works on wifi so check your firewall, router, wireless router etc.
Human_Shield said:Good to know. I've been waiting for this forever now, and I'm SO not disappointed. You should send an email to Apple with that idea. It seems like a natural evolution from what it's already doing.
About the Airport Express, I'd like to be able to stream music to different parts of the home. Would it be better recommended to buy multiple Airport Express' or have one and move it to different parts of the house as needed?
