I'm starting to believe that they won't remaster Bloodborne because, despite being their IP, it was made in FromSoftware engine and it would be too much effort/costly to either have people learn that engine or port to another engine.

(since Bluepoint is busy whale hunting...)

Not trolling, just good business. Remastering Bloodborne has value so no point in wasting that value by just releasing it as a PS5 game this late in the PS5 life cycle. I suspect Bloodborne will get the Demon Souls treatment and be a launch PS6 game.

Seriously, Days Gone Remastered? This game runs amazingly on PC and PS5 at a high resolution.

Horizon Remastered. Same thing.

TLOU already had a remaster. TLOU II on PS5 with just the PS4 running in backwards compatibility runs and looks fantastic.

There's one damn classic PS4 game that's stuck at 30fps and 1080p with terrible frame pacing and it's the one Sony refuses to remaster.

This only feels like they're trolling.

Didn't read the whole thread, I'm sure people have already mentioned this. Nevertheless, these remasters are easy and cheap money for Sony. Their output of original games seems to be vanishingly small outside of the launch window of a generation.
Sony has completely miscalculated with its GaaS strategy and has lost years that could have been invested in original IPs.
At least with these remasters, they have some output. There are always existing fans who will buy remasters.
Additionally, the PS5 currently has a 42% increase in new players. These new players will likely go for the latest version of a game since they haven't played the original.
The crux of the matter is that games suitable for this type of remaster are finite. Right now, more remasters are being released than original IPs. If this continues, by the end of the generation, there will be nothing left to remaster, and Sony will be left with only a handful of IPs in the pipeline - while new games will take years to develop again.

Remaster is better for games that needs it more. Those with more rooms for improvement, older games not readily on modern platforms etc. Like PS3 or PSP games. God of War Ghost of Sparta, the older Killzone games etc.

Not Horizon Forbidden West or Days Gone.

Some of the best games I've played this generation have been Remasters or Remakes.
But 97% of them aren't Sony's.
Which is funny because about 90% of Sony's games have been Remasters/PC ports

I invite you to name one original Sony exclusive over the last 30 years Sony actually considered remastering to PS5, sure you can depend on Naughty dog, Gran Turismo, and Astro bot but games like socom, and Killzone would kill to be remastered
