I love the guy, but I really should watch more of his films. I've seen so few of his works and I'm also still waiting for Rush Hour 4 here.

Absolutely worth it.

Honestly of everything he's done, this is the stunt that has me questioning how the hell he survived it. You can even see it in his face just before he jumps that he full well knows that it could and probably would kill him and yet he jumps at it like a wild animal! Yes I know he's done a lot simpler stunt that caused much worse injuries but still... So insane amounts props to the guy!

I forgot the title of the film, but the one where he falls into the hot coals is amazing. Just seeing him not caring anymore about completely being beaten to a pulp and just wanting the guy he's fighting to fall at least once is insane and it goes on for so long!

That would be Drunken Master 2. My personal favourite of his. :)

Such a shame that we barely get any of his classic movies on Bluray.
Heck, even if we would, it'd probably be heavily edited versions with tons of other things wrong and missing. :(

His Hollywood career outside of the Shanghai and Rush Hour series is kinda floppy. He thrives when he has the control the HK studios let him have.

But name one other Asian male actor leading an American film franchise as successful as Rush Hour.

Jackie Chan broke the barriers, and yet no one's being allowed to walk past the remains, still.

DM2 is great. Crazy how different it is from the first one.

First of all. About damn time! The man is a living legend and still one of the few in Hollywood that actually knows how to fight!! And then I don't mean the crappy Hollywood movie fighting and crappy editing but that Hong Kong feel of this is just great!

And secondly...is it the Oscars now....? Man I have totally been occupied with to much shit.

A Pretty Panda

fuckin' called it, man

Every other joke in Rush Hour 2 was either racist or shit

Brett Ratner is horrible.

The poster asked a ridiculous question ("Is not liking this guy even possible?") and I answered it.

Don't like it? Too bad. *shrug*

Also, none of what I said is gossip. So your post is factually wrong.

Is Taiwan a democracy? Are people in Hong Kong living "in the third world who are uneducated"?

Stay ignorant though.

Start a fucking Cosby appreciation thread and see how it goes.

What you said is the real bs.

LMAO at stay ignornat though. I have BEEN to Taiwan and I studied it for an entire year so I am well educated about their current situation. I met the political leader of Taipei. Hell I was in Hong Kong when the riots started for that city state. My point is that democracy isn't blatancy better than communism. If you studied political systems you would know that.

ok so totally off topic but...have you actually read through what people themselves said who lived through communism? It isn't Socialism exactly. It's all fine and dandy on paper and as an idea but fucking horrible in practice.
Thankfully neither of those places have communism.

For the people that posted about the YouTube Chanel every scene a painting, thank you. I watched every one he had on YouTube and will def throw money to his patron to watch his others.

Why isnt Chris Tucker in more movies?!!

Once he got that Rush Hour money, he didn't need to be a working actor. Could chill out, maybe do a movie here and there if he felt like it. Didnt have to burn out his brand. That's the life.

Still waiting for a new Friday and Rush hour movie.

The perfect example why there should be a lifetime achievement Oscars. Some actors and movies are never going to get Oscar consideration, but Jackie Chan's career is pretty special to movie fans. More than deserving.

You da man, Jackie Chan.

It's not the life. That's why he has tax issues now. As a Black man who became a box office star that could command 20 million dollars from the Rush Hour franchise, he never even tested the market at the height of his popularity to see how well he could've did as a leading man in big budget films. He could've had a good run, but instead squandered the opportunity and is no longer in demand, so has to take whatever roles he can get. I guarantee he regrets getting lazy during the Rush Hour movies.

I didn't know these things were given so far ahead of the actual Oscars.

Yeah, Spike Lee was given his last year at the same ceremony presented by Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson, and Wesley Snipes.

Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington and Wesley Snipes honor Spike Lee at the 2015 Governors Awards

Sure, leaving all that money on the table is a regrettable action. But maybe not for him. He might not have wanted the pressure of being the next Eddie Murphy. Who knows? Maybe he had a bad agent that told him to lay low.

I definitely would have been down for a string of high budget Chris Tucker movies similar to that crazy stretch of success Eddie had.

ETA- He was already killing it before he hit the Rush Hour jackpot. Guess we'll never know the ceiling he could have had.

Well before the Rush Hour films he was on an incline to superstardom that climaxed with the Rush Hour films making him a superstar to a global audience as a leading man. It's a shame we'll never know what could've been had he capitalized on it's success and made more films. He could've been Hollywood royalty by now.

The way he finally remembers who else he needs to thank and just frantically waves down the closing band. Such an uncle move.

I love uncle jackie.
