EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets lost leading scorer Richard Jefferson to a season-ending wrist injury, the latest blow to the three-time defending Atlantic Division champions who now seem likely to miss the playoffs.
The team announced Tuesday that Jefferson has a ruptured ligament in his left wrist. Surgery is expected within the next two weeks, and Jefferson would not be ready to play again until the second half of May.

Don't mistake "CAN" with "ALWAYS".Incognito said:I wouldn't say that. Beat Seattle by only 2(At Seattle), and were tossed out of the building by the Spurs. But, yes, they are fun to watch.
It's Amare you foo!Pimpwerx said:Holy crap, there is no D in this game. The announcer's right, the Heat looked confused on D. Stoudamire is having a great night on the boards. Got our work cut out for us in the second half. The Suns are fucking impressive. PEACE.
Will we get the chance? Isn't he injured? No? Then give him another week.Loki said:Wow, dunno if it's been discussed (I saw someone speculating about it earlier), but Jefferson is out for the SEASON. That's a huge blow for the franchise. Wonder how Carter will react (in terms of his game), since I'm sure he was looking forward to playing with BOTH Kidd and RJ.

Yeah, the Suns definitely remind me of the Mavs two years ago when they went to the WC Finals, except with more athleticism.ddkawaii said:I'm a pretty die hard Mavs fan. Followed them all through the years, including the bad years. The Suns remind me alot of recent Mavs teams only their players are a little more atheletic. But it also seems that as Nash goes the Suns go. Unfortunately, I've also seen plenty of Nash (due to being a Mavs fan) and I can say that Nash can tear it up during the regular season and play big minutes. But he will be injured this year for at lesat 10 games or so. Also playing big minutes seems to wear Nash out so much so that he dissapears during the playoffs or at least loses about 30-40% of his effectiveness.
Suns look great now, but if Nash goes down/dissapears watch out...I don't think they'll be anywhere near where they are now.
I think he's taken less FGA this year; certainly less drives to the basket. Seems to MUCH prefer distributing the ball (even more than before). So I'd be surprised if the playoffs affect him. I suspect he'll continue carrying the Suns (along with Amare).ddkawaii said:I'm a pretty die hard Mavs fan. Followed them all through the years, including the bad years. And would you agree that his one-bounce pass is at its best? He cuts up two/three players on a regular basis now.

So as the year goes on and teams start playing more physical and bodying up on Nash his ability to go around them escape that sort of thing is diminished.

AstroLad said:Uh... dude, we're 35 games into the season. Ths Suns are 31-4. Doesn't look to me like anyone's "figuring out" shit.
ddkawaii said:I'm not going to argue with you at this point in the season. And teams are different but look at those high flying mavs teams. When they got into the playoffs with the exception of when they played the kings their scoring went down. It's the way the NBA works. You start seriously game planning trying stuff to slow guys down in the playoffs.
