As soon as I posted that and got up to stir my taco meat a bit more on the oven...I was like "you know, I played the whole game with it lying flat, so I never thought to try the L/R buttons".

Yeah...+1 Phantom Hourglass right there. That makes me much more happy, too.

Well, I can say I beat it the first time with "one hand behind my back" because I only used one hand...the entire time, heh.

I'm enjoying Phantom Hourglass more than Twilight Princess.
Also the game doesn't have that weird Capcom feel that Oracles and Minish Cap had.

I love that they brought back classic enemies like land octoroks, moldorms, evil zoras and others :D

I love the clever new uses for old items. eg. Dungeon 2 spoiler:
bombs + wind

I love the non-traditional dungeons, I'm enjoying the Hourglass dungeon a lot more than I thought I would, even with the time limit. Dungeon 4 kinda reminded me of the Snow Mansion in TP which I really loved. There's some really ingenius puzzles.

I love pimping out my loveboat with upgrades :D

My only complaint would be the limited music, but I digg the new boss battle theme which reminds me of LTTP's palace 1-3

I actually replayed Oracle of Ages and Seasons through about 3 times each, with the links and not. And I have to say yeah...they're better than any of the 2D Zelda games. So I changed my mind.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
I don't like the music much, I've heard a lot better... even on the DS. They took out the Dark Overworld theme as well (or at least it's not in the rip). :(

I posted all the tracks for download a couple pages ago.
Maybe I'm blind or something but I just combed back 5 pages and couldn't find it. Can someone repost or link it?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it. Downloading now, thanks.

To those that beat the game is Ganon in it, is he the final boss? Spoil it for me, I really dont concider knowing that being big a deal.

That was answered earlier in the thread...

The final boss is neither Ganon nor Vaati. It wouldn't make any sense for Ganon to be in it at all except as a flashback, seeing as this is a direct sequel to Wind Waker (and we all know what happened to Ganon there).

Thanks for the answer.

Another question, is the game a little bit difficult or is it easy like the last few console Zelda games. Thanks.

Is there at least any mention to Ganon in this game? Or is the Triforce involved in anyway?

EDIT: And WTF they ruined the Outset Islands theme song. That's honestly my favorite bit of Zelda music EVER, and it sounds like crap on this.

EDIT times 2: Alright nevermind it seemed like it was a "flashback" type of scene for the music. Makes sense. But I still want more Outset. :(

TSA I really wished you would let us directly download soundtracks from your site. Again, with Phantom Hourglass, you're provided the best rip out there. No matter how much I've looked, I can't find a Twilight Princess RIP that's as complete as yours.

and may I say that the sound quality that EAD got out of the DS is amazingly good with this title o_o

I'll never understand why the hell Nintendo doesn't incorporate the Zelda theme in their most major games (OoT/TP), yet do for pretty much all their spinoffs.

Phantom Hourglass and Wind Waker aren't spinoffs. :/

I can't exactly just put up the mp3s for download, especially when some of them are from CDs for sale.
You have no problem streaming the entire soundtracks, though :lol

Besides, TP didn't get a soundtrack :/

You mean you can't put it up to download, especially when you're getting hits on your site every time someone would want to listen to those tracks.

All the music stuff you can find over the internet for now, is a f*****g bad ROM dump made with VGMtrans, a program who try to extract automaticaly music from DS ROMs.
The problem is 1/ several tracks can't be detected and 2/ some MIDI instruments are missing.

I am still waiting for my japanese copy of Phantom Hourglass but in the next couple of weeks, i should be able to start a descent rip. :)

Considering it's more a single player game than a multiplayer one, 12000 connections on the first day sounds ok. You don't happen to have a magic number with which we can multiply the 12000 to get the first day sales, do you? Any threads where you had numbers for other first day connections of just released games?

Someone please answer this questions

1. This is the direct sequel to Wind Waker right..? Is aryll appearing this time around ?
2. Is this one dungeon is everything information right ?
3. How big is the sea compared to the WW sea..?

Well seeing that Tetris DS is the 9th most active game on WFC, and averages at about 9.6k connections a day (obviously a bit higher in the weekend), 12,000 on it's first day is really great, yeah.

Itadaki Street DS had 12,857 connections on it's release thursday, and according to Sinobi it sold about 70k on the first day it seems. Seeing as that is much more multiplayer-/online-based than Zelda, I'd probably say that the ratio for Phantom Hourglass is a lot higher, at least double, which would have it at 150k. Add that to being released a saturday instead of a thursday, and being released with two new DS Lite-colours, and being released too early someplace (3,358 connections friday), I frankly have no idea how to go around this. I've given this information for another game recently released, Mario Strikers Charged Football, but that's in a total other region and we don't even have any numbers for that yet, plus the service was down, which equaled up to more connections. I haven't done this long enough to take any qualified guess on the first days sales.

About 40% of the Wii (not the DS) worlwide are connected to the internet.
If 12k is ~40% first day sells, then PH is at... 30k. We can't really say something about this. PH is a 1 player adventure, not a great mutliplayer based game...

I just watched the intro video, and it doesn't look cel-shaded. It doesn't look like TWW or Viewtiful Joe. It looks like its proper 3D, but done in a cartoony style.

Am I right?

Some views.

Damn, reading this thread has got me hyped for the game!

I really didn't care that much about PH, seeing screens/trailers didn't make we want to play this game. But reading about how awesome it is, listening to some musical pieces... Can. Not. Wait.

Isn't that pretty much cel-shading?

The game uses cel-shading, albeit lower quality, as much as TWW did.

Unlike Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, I can confirm that Phantom Hourglass has a GAME OVER screen.

Not sure anyone's answered you yet, so:

1. Yes. No spoilers on the characters though.
2. No, there's one main dungeon that
you can get to more of as the game progresses
and
several smaller, but still pretty big, normal dungeons
as usual.
3. Smaller, but better - everything is closer together. I loved sailing in WW, but the
powered boat
makes for a quicker transport. Seeing other islands as you sail about on the little DS is almost breathtaking.
